I have recently discovered this amazing video and I love it every thing on it is amazing. The Lads must have enjoyed doing this so much. I know its some time ago but I would like to say a very big thank you to all those musicians and the making of such a fine video.. It has given so much pleasure to watch thank you once again.
What a superb performance. I wish there was an extended version simply because it's so good. And everyone recognises the songs. The unexpected singing of the guardsman with the amazing voice, halfway through, is just the icing on the cake !
Drum Majors are not attached to a particular Guards band, but to the corps of drums for their own regiment. Generally for an important event like this the Senior Drum Major, Household Division will be used, no matter which band/s is/are performing. You will find that at the Changing of the Guard ceremony invariably the Drum Major leading the parade will be from a different regiment than that which the band are representing. Guards Musicians are part of the Corps of Army. Music.
Could I ask what model of Yamaha trombone you were playing in the video, and would you recommend any other makes/models that you have played which give a similar sound. thanks
Hi. The arrangement is called "The Beatles - Echoes of an Era" and is arranged by John Higgins and is available commercially : mylibrary.on.worldcat.org/search?queryString=no%3A+781044908#/oclc/781044908
I HAVE IT ON A SCORE AFTER TRANSCRIBING AND GIVING IT TO THE BAND UOPON MY DEPARTURE FROM THEM LAST SUMMER. IF YOU SEND ME YOUR E-MAIL ADDRESS I WILL SEND IT TO YOU IF YOU LIKE. REGARDS DAVE

Drum Major Steven Staite, Grenadier Guards leading The Band of the Coldstream Guards
One of the smartest Drum Majors ever, both in drill and dress. ( in my humble opinion)
Great videos-
