this season tho kind of goes down in my estimation knowing that city cheated to get there, if city do get relegated due to the 115 charges then this moment pretty much essentially doesn't mean anything tbf
11-12 was crazy, but my favorite season might be 2018-19. You had the best Prem title race with City on 99 and Liverpool 98 pts, 2 of the most entertaining games oat in City 2-1 Liverpool, the insane Stones clearance and Firmino’s wonderful team goal, and City 4-3 Spurs’ dramatic clash, Ajax had their incredible underdog story with the 4-1 at the Bernabeu, United knocked out PSG, Liverpool came back against Barca, Messi was arguably at his most complete, only negative about that season is the UCL final between Liverpool and Spurs, which is the absolute worst I’ve ever seen.
honestly anything involving city prolly goes down in my estimation just mainly due to the fact of the 115 charges and them being most likely guilty pretty much of their wrong doing so i can't rlly say that so for me it has to be the 98/99 season for sure, man united and arsenal and even chelsea had an entertaining battle for the pl, you obv had uniteds road to the cl final as well as bayern munichs being full to the brim of drama, there was barca reclaiming the top spot in la liga whilst madrid had a shocking off year and then milan suprising everyone by winning a scudetto and juve and inter having shocking seasons where they failed miserably. that for me prolly was better and more iconic than 18/19 and also it was more entertaining at the time bc it wasn't always guaranteed the big teams would do well unlike now i feel like
Another aspect of that Chelsea Barcelona tie is that it was also a revenge saga. They also face each other in a semi final three years prior when we got the infamous "Its a disgrace!" moment. And Torres and Chelsea had been getting disrespected like crazy all season it was peak... If the Drogba header felt like destiny, that Torres goal made me wonder if actually karma exists.
That Chelsea UCL run was something special. I watched the final again a couple months back and wow. That was really something special. Same with that semifinal. My god. That team had no right heading to the final, but that’s what makes football so so beautiful. You just never know what will happen. Edit: Jib… I’m gonna have to disagree with ya on Victor Valdes. Has to be one of the most underrated Spanish goalkeepers. Feel he doesn’t get his flowers often.
Ashley Cole clearance off the line away against Napoli to keep the score at 3-1 instead of 4-1 for them to win the tie in extra time at Stamford bridge was the moment I knew the would win it
Chelsea was unbelievably lucky that year. Messi has never been so poor in front of goal before or since. But, to be fair. Chelsea got fk'd over in previous seasons, like the phantom goal. So I just it's swings and round abouts. And as you say, that's why we love football.
As a Real Madrid fan who got into watching it in 2010, 2012 season was a high and low roller coaster. That UCL exit against Bayern traumatized 7 year old me, so much that I threw a tantrum and was grounded by my mother. However, we finally won the league right after I became conscious of the notion of trophies. Until then the only thing i knew was "the team in white scores, I'm happy"
Chelsea winning 1st Champions League trophy that season was CRAZY!!! Semi-finals and final matches were unbelievable, but their Big comeback against Napoli in Round of 16 after losing 1st match 3-1 and getting 4-1 win in extra time in return leg. This definitely needs to be highlighted. 🏆💪💙
My favourite season was (as a Reading supporter) that 2005/06 season. Winning the Championship with a record 106 points and promotion to the top tier of English football for the first time since inception in 1871. I wasnt even quite 10 by the time that season finished and was the first season I properly followed. My Dad took me to a match against Crewe. They only lost twice that season. The 2006/07 was also phenomenal finishing just one place and a single point off European qualification.
This is the season I brcame hooked on football. From the thrling PL title race, the most intense El Clasicos, Chelsea' miracalous CL win, Messi and Ronaldo averaging a brace a game and that Spain squad establishing themselves as the greatest dynasy in international football history. I was a fan before, but this was the year football peaked imo.
16/17 season was very good to ! Super Real Madrid, 6-1 Barcelona psg, el Classico Messi goal , Monaco with mbapee and falcão , last season of Neymar with Barcelona , Real Madrid vs Bayern second hand was one of the best / polemic games of all time , prime dybala dele Ali Alexis Sanchez , Ozil goal against ludogorets , chelsea vs man city title race ,Leipzig 4 vs Bayern 5, city vs Monaco …14/15 was underrated too!!
I LOVED 2012 in terms of competitively and storylines, but 2018 was it for me as a Croat. It didn’t end the way I wanted but making it to a WC final is insane. Even if u don’t think Modrić deserved the Ballon d’or, I was happy. Also ppl forget how well Croatian individuals did for their clubs that season.
The 2014/15 season would always hold special memories for me. From the World Cup happening prior to this season happening, MSN dominating Europe were good times
Hazard was linked to Arsenal, but he choose Chelsea because they secured Champions League football after winning the UCL. Also Joe Cole, former team mate and Chelsea player encouraged Hazard to join Chelsea. Hazard who then privately met Roman Abramovitch on his yacht agreed to join. So it wasn't Random.
This exactly was my favorite season of football, I remember a 12-year-old me naming the entire Dortmund lineup and doing some of the most ridiculous FIFA seasons ever. MARCO REUS will forever be my favorite Footballer ever.
just a little thing, falcao had already broken the europa league single season goal record with 16 goals the previous season when he won it with porto, so its not like it was a breakout season from him
idk man i acc prefer the older seasons like the seasons from the 90s and early 2000s tbh, these newer seasons in the top flight are normally boring bc the top teams you always expect to normally do well anyways and expect no significant drop offs, back then tho it was a lot more entertaining bc the big teams didn't always do well and there wasn't always this guarantee at the time they'd do amazing as well
@@ogome2927 Yeah Sure but 21/22 was really fun to watch Vini's breakout season,Villareal amazing UCL run,Madrid Comebacks,Ramadan Benezema etc but i can understand your point of why older season are better there was always an Underdog Story

Top 3: 1. 2014/15 for MSN, Barca amazing UCL run, Ronaldo having a lot of goals and the fun times. Also Eden Hazard was amazing that year and it was the rise of Harry Kane and Lewandowski's first season in Bayern. 2. 2022/23 the UCL was disappointing really other than the 4:0 city win over real I don't remember much and Barca being embarrassed in the group stage. It was good for the leagues.... Arsenal 😢bottled the league Barcelona won the league dominantly el Classico's were good that season and most importantly what an amazing world cup in between. Morroco, Messi all great. 3. 2018/19 it was a season that made me fall in love with the game again. After the Russia world cup i started watching again and Messi had a great year carried the team to la Liga title and almost a UCL if not for corner taken quickly. Ah some beautiful goals like that freekick against Liverpool and chip against Real Betis. Lewandowski had a great goalscoring year cr7 was still good, city was strong but failed against Tottenham who later failed against Liverpool like the spurs do and Salah with a UCL. What a year.
13/14 was better than all them seasons premier league was amazing I think it was like the most times ever the top has changed in a season Liverpools late surge gerrard slip, altelti winning the laLiga, real smashing Bayern 0-4 on their own patch, Chelsea comeback against psg after losing first leg 3-1, neymar first season in Barca, bale first season in Real that goal against Barca when Bartra tried to barge him off the field, World Cup end of season was brilliant aswell with surprise packages Costa Rica ze Germans smashing Brazil 7-1 in their own stadium with the crowd all in tears thinking it was destined to be their World Cup that year, James for Columbia
For me it's 18/19 Maybe I'm a bit biased cuz I'm a Liverpool fan😅 But the Ajax run in the Champions League was also one to remember aswell as the title race that season. Pure nostalgia for me
One of my favorite parts of the Chelsea CL win in 2012 was the fact that we finished 6th in the league and by winning it, we knocked Spuds out of their CL spot for 2013 😂
