I just purchased a set of 6061 and did not know the difference between it and the 7075 .. they sound attractive .. I am mounting on my savage model 12 22-250 with a vortex tactical 6-24x50mm scope to venture into 500 yards target shooting .. your rings appear to be the best out there to me
Thank you for your positive feedback. The difference between 6061 and 7075 rings is the material, specifically 6061 aluminum and 7075 aluminum. The 7075 rings has a locating pin, while the 6061 does not. Both models, however, feature a honed inner bore for enhanced accuracy.
Great vid. I have four of your scopes and I like them all. I always replace the supplied rings with the 7075's. I prefer the medium rise. And I think the quality is a touch better.
I appreciate you talking very clearly. I have a couple of 34 s in my desk and have used several of the rings. I bought the 34s in low and medium not knowing the scopes that I purchased came with the same rings. lol
Just purchased an ED PRS 5-25 56mm about an hour ago to put on my BC-8 .300 win mag. Might end up getting the medium rise 34mm rings to keep the scope as close to the barrel. Been watching a bunch of videos to pick the right scope and decided to give Discovery Optics a try.
So I recently purchased the 5-30x56 HD Gen2 for my 6.5prc build. What reason would I have to upgrade to the 7075 rings over the 6061 that came with the optic?
I did bought 10 of 5-25 but the rings go with them are very high. So I’m not use them until now. I want the rings 1 inch high. Can I exchange the rings?
Great explaination, Thank you !

You can use the 6061 scope rings that came with the optic. If you want to upgrade to 7075 scope rings, you'll need to buy them separately.
