I so miss this channel..I come back and watch these videos all the time Thank you Rob
Made this quilt for my grand daughter for Christmas. It turned out wonderful and added borders for it to fit a full size bed.
I don't usually watch your videos, but this one caught my attention. It's a very pretty version of a rail fence, which I think of as one of the easiest quilts possible to make. I have always used the entire strip, and never understood why people suggested that I should not. I learned how to quilt from a 76 year old quilter who learned to quilt from her mother who learned from her mother. She told me that how you press can be as important as how you cut.
Thanks Rob! I’ve been holding on too 2 jelly rolls of the Ombre Confetti waiting for the perfect pattern and you have done it! LOVE, LOVE LOVE THIS! 💕. Thank you again!
Love this fabric and pattern. During a sewing workshop I was introduced to some techniques used by industrial sewers. One such technique was to take your strips that your are sewing and drape them over your shoulder. This enables you to sew without worrying about tension caused by the strips dangling over the table.
The dry erase marker line for the win!!! Mind blown!!!
It is so reassuring to see sewists who don’t sew 💯 miles an hour! I have been sewing for a long time, but I never have my stitch speed at full blast!
Thanks Rob! What a fresh and fun interpretation of a traditional block. You are a gifted and inspiring teacher!
Fantastic! the fabric choices really makes the basket weave pop!
Thank you! When you take your foot off the gas you are informative and encouraging and because I understand all the instructions, I believe I can do it. It is a beautiful quilt.
Rob your such an inspiration. Always something new and that is greatly appreciated. Thx
So glad you liked it, Debbie!
I really love this quilt Rob, the color values are so pretty! 💚
This seems great for beginners, too! I would start from the other end; but that's just me. Great quilt Rob!!
Rob, I just love your quilt patterns and this is no exception. I am finishing up a strip quilt top now and think this will be my next project. It looks beautiful and appears to be so easy to put together.
Rob - You Rock!! Really cool colors and great way to put them together. Thanks.
What a Beautiful quilt! Basket weaves are so pretty. I need to try this after I do my Sewing For Cats for this year.
Aell done Rob. I still have one of your kits and books from Hawaii Island retreat with Bob and Karen. Keepnup the good work.
Thank you Rob.... I was looking for a pattern for my Sister in Laws Christmas gift and you just supplied it. Thank you so much.... Take care.
Fun quilt, I love how bright and cheery it is, it would be a great pattern for an older kid/tween/teen. That's a great tip also about the dry erase marker, I always forget that! I have used a small strip of masking tape or washi tape to mark my spot as well 😁
Nice easy quilt to throw together for a cot or bed for charity. You can use different colours all over or use yours! ❤
Beautiful quilt Rob !! Very easy instructions.. sew easy to follow. Thank you 😉
Simple design but very striking. Thank you!
Love this pattern! I’ll have to try it when I get my machine fixed.
Love this fabric! A definitel must do! Thanks Rob!

Bootiful. Just love those colours. Love watching your tutorials :)
I love this quilt and especially the tips!
Wow. If I can get those fabric strips that will be my next project. Thank you.
I love this!
I have ordered my jelly and honey buns for this eek!
What a cool and manly sewing shirt!
Very beautiful! On my to do list !
Very cool, thanks Rob
Joli quilt avec de très beaux tissus ! 👍
Another awesome tutorial.
I love your tutorials, and this one is no exception! I was wondering if you could mention what kind of iron you're using.
Love this design
I really like this quilt, I'm going to have to make it. I did have one question. I noticed your binding is a mix of the fabrics (I love the scrappy look of it). Did you hold back some pieces in order to make the border or did you order more fabric?
absolutely love this quilt . I will be trying your design.. thank you for showing us..
Great quilt. Adding it to the project list😀
Beautiful 👍 I'm gonna try this. Thanks Rob🙏
Great Job! Now I know what to do with my strip stash :)
I just recently discovered Man Quilting and LOVE getting a man's viewpoint on sewing. I love all the t-shirts Rob wears in his videos. Is there someplace I can buy one? Thanks :)
Love it!!!!!!
Wow so awesome to find your channel :)
I will try to do this one
Thanks Rob!
Do you have any tips and tricks for me I've just started quilting with my 14 year old daughter and we are making our second quilt the first one was a small trainer quilt it came out okay but we want to get into freemotion we have a Bernina 830 please let us know any information you can love your videos
Great video! do you have any videos on using the Wefty? Triaxial 🙏
I can’t wait to try this one. Do you have the directions for this quilt?
Great job.
Thanks!
Rob, why do you back stitch in the selvedge?
so the dry erase doesn't come off on the fabric and it comes off the ruler? if so this is an awesome tip for me!
the dry erase line is probably done on the 'top-side' of the ruler...not the side that is in contact with the fabric.
Has anyone had a creative thought about what to do with the middle pieces that were left over after cutting the strips for this quilt? It's a fun quilt to make.
I've answered my own question. I used the extra colored pieces for the border. The border looks similar to the one on Rob's quilt
I love this- but does anyone have any ideas for turning this into a king size?
You would need to order another strip set so you could add width and length to whatever specifications you choose.
Please add the link for the supplies. I have to make this quilt!
The links have been added, sorry for the delay!
Rob , what is your design wall made of ?
¡Me encantas!
Hey There Rob, I Have a question about your Sewing machine. That piece that you have next to your needle on the Sewing machine. What do you call that? & where can I purchase that? ..lol.. one more question. I have a Brother se400 embroidery sewing machine -- Would that fit my sewing machine, as well?? .. Also, I really like that pattern for a quilt. Thanks!!
That is a seam guide! You can generally find one similar that will specifically fit to your machine. here is a link to the seam guides that Missouri Star offers: www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/browse?q=Seam%20Guide
The magnetic one is an inexpensive yet very effective one I would highly reccomend.
Oh, thank you, thank you!! I Just wanted to say one more thing, You , Jenny & Donna Jordan are my 3 top quilters on UA-cam!!! You guys are fantastic!!
I AM LOOKIG FOR A HIGH SHANK SEWING MACHINE. WHAT IS THE MAKE OF THE MACHINE YO ARE USING?
How big is this quilt?
Why the shorter stitch length?
Pretty Quilt. But the way you handle and press your fabric makes me cringe. Don't get me wrong, I used to do the same thing. I've since learned from others that there is a better way to get better results. Donna Jordan of Jordan Fabrics has the best UA-cam tutorials when it comes to handling and pressing fabrics. Once I started following her techniques, my quilts not only improved 100%, I enjoyed the entire process a whole lot more. Take a look at her Mirage Quilt and watch how she touches the fabric with her hands and sets it up to be pressed with the iron especially when dealing with bias edges.
Thanks so much for the tips!
I felt bad when I read your critical remark about Rob and think that referring him to another professional quilter was unnecessary, arrogant, and inappropriate. It was gracious of him to answer you as he did.
Too plain, has no POP
