    I wish there was a way to mark an outstanding video for myself, say with a huge Star next to the like button so that I can find it each day and somehow imprint it on my brain forever. Goodness me, this video, I need to play it every day, I really do. Thank you. It's the backlash that I have trouble with, in the midst of this, I need to be so assertive with the amygdala. I've spent years pushing my pain's boundaries only to end up a right mess. I'm gonna do it! I have to.

    Hi Jim, I’m not sure if you will see this message since this brilliant video is 3 yrs old but I will try. I am just looking for confirmation that I can talk to my wife about my sensations and emotions. I thought that it was wrong to talk about my pain/emotions to anyone except a professional. Grateful for your advice.

    Thank you so much. I’ve come a long way. I’m finding that when I go back to working out like I used to I begin to get more frustrated,and just want to quit. I think I’m gonna start running and doing less intense exercise to gain some momentum. I really appreciate all that you do.

    Hi Jim, Thank you again for giving so much of your time. After being sedentary for several years I have started walking again. Slowly and not very far, but increasing a little every day! Also giving TMS and pain a good talking to and even shouting at it at times🤪! I am currently taking anti inflammatories twice daily. I want to stop but I’m a scared of the pain. They don’t really take it away, but they certainly mask the pain. I thought of maybe cutting them down slowly. I’d appreciate your thoughts on this. Please keep these wonderful videos coming. I’m sure many people are being helped by them. Kind regards. Irma.

    I've resumed all but walking say around the block BECAUSE I have groin pain that's so bad it makes me limp & it can make me almost collapse then I would fall. I have to walk slower than normal. I still mow lawn..shovel snow even though it really hurts. I just don't want to fall.

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  2 роки тому +1

      As long as you know the pain is not structural acute or physical then you can proceed forward gradually slowly no matter how bad the pain is I f it’s coming from your brain there’s nothing wrong

      @@thepainpt thank you for the reply. On pg 58 & 60 of Sarno mind body prescription he talks about groin pain involve with lumbar pain (which I have...mostly on right side..same side as groin pain). Dr. confirmed nothing structural & gave me pt scrip but I didn't use it. I take no meds. I do so many physical things everyday... I do yoga for the heart every day ( sun salutations) but when it comes to walking for excercise.it's too much pressure on groin I walk slow. I had all this 12 yrs ago..it went away...now it's back. It is improving but slowly. Your videos are truly helpful! Thank you so much!

    what if it IS from physical cause like the spine canal has narrowed and squeezing the nerve what is there for people like that?

    Jim: I am currently withdrawing from a benzodiazapine and anxiety & fight or flight as well as extreme fatigue are just a few of the withdrawal symptoms. I have been able to ignore & even eliminate many other symptoms, such as Food intolerances & Histamine intolerances , POTS, Burning Mouth Syndrome and other stress related symptoms using TMS, but I have not been able to eliminate anxiety &
    adrenal fatigue. You said taking supplements, etc to help reduce a symptom just makes the brain believe your pain, etc is real. My question is can Adrenal fatigue & Anxiety be TMS! Should I stop taking supplements that my functional doctor told me to take for the adrenal fatigue. I also have vitamin deficiencies per blood tests- b12 (I’m vegetarian), ferratin, and vit D3. What are your thoughts on taking supplements that may be necessary. Also, do you think protracted withdrawal symptoms, known as PAWS could be TMS? There is a lot of brain research that shows that the gaba receptors are damaged during benzo use which is why anxiety is over the top during withdrawal, causing many stress related illnesses to develop. Thank you for this great video! I hoe you can answer my questions.

      @thepainpt  4 роки тому +3

      Yes anxiety is definitely a form of TMS. Adrenal fatigue as well as it’s highly correlated with the nervous system. Keep going it sounds like you’ve overcome a lot. I think Ok to take some supplements as a vegetarian as you may not be getting everything. Take care

    Does TMS apply to someone who has had a major stroke?

  • @austinhaynesmusic

    I'm confused by the part in the video around 6 Minutes in that says that when our emotional brain is anxious (amygdala sends a one-way signal to prefrontal cortex) barely any info from the prefrontal cortex can send back but then Sarno is saying talk back to our brain but how can we talk back if it is mostly only one way and not from the rational part? Doesn't the 2020 study and this info just say that you can't really talk to the emotional amygdala brain?

    I haven’t got around to filling out your form just yet but does this count with nerve repair when I’ve been told it could take 12 months to two years to recover (pudendal nerve pain) I’m trying to apply your rules but it’s so easy to slip back - I’m worried my inhibiting my recovery by doing too much

    Question! 😊. I have a mix of physical and TMS symptoms. How do I work on the TMS symptoms while part of my brain is telling me I have a structural physical disease as seen in an x-ray?

    • @davidlah5058
      @davidlah5058 Місяць тому +1

      Read the book healing back pain by John Sarno. Structural abnormalities in the spine and elsewhere in the body are not the cause of the pain. That is why the operation has such small success rate.

    Hi
    Do those strategies of3 do and 3 don’t s work with chronic pudendal neuralgia and pain related fear and negative thoughts related to the pain? Thank you

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  3 роки тому

      Yes if the diagnosis is TMS which is basically your brain and nervous system then the strategies will help you. Anytime we are working with the brain we are working with thoughts and emotions. And what you just described pain related fear and negative thoughts that’s the brain so yes you’ve got some work you can do in this area

    What about muscle tension and limited flexibility?

    • @thepainpt
      @thepainpt  3 роки тому

      Muscle tension if not local then is likely from from the nervous system and brain
