I remember kids talking about this like he did it once a week literally everyone would look for him when they would go. He helped really keep the magic of the park alive in those days 😌

They should’ve waited for the trial, but they panicked. It wouldn’t have been unreasonable to hold things until the trial took place. I don’t entirely fault them for their reaction, given the allegations and that a trial had taken place in England. But I 100% hold them accountable for not figuring out how to correct what they did, after trail.

I heard that, sometimes, he would come in on days where one of his animatronics would be down due to a malfunction, or was in need of repairs, and he would get in full costume, and pretend to be the animatronic of himself.

My family had something similar, we were there on the first day he was doing this, and it was our last day at Disneyland, we had gone on the Jack sparrow ride a few times, so we didn’t go out on it the last time worst decision of our lives.

The fact that the animatronics were so realistic they thought that LEGIT Johnny depp was one.
He truly did love that role as Jack Sparrow. There was one time he when he was working on one of the sequel movies (I THINK it was the third one, but I’m not fully sure) when he got a letter from a fan, saying they loved him in his roll as Jack Sparrow.
So, reading that, he one day kept his costume on after a day of recording and *went to the school the fan went to see her!* Johnny Depp went out of his way to go visit a fan who sent him a letter, after a long day of acting, keeping the costume on, at her school.
That is truly brilliant. It is just a shame that Disney botched all relations with him.
I think he feels freedom when he's Jack Sparrow. He can get rid off the serious-sophisticated-silent-cool guy image that he has to maintain and be crazy and still be cool.
As a child I sent him a similar letting asking for his autograph and the legend sent pack a signed photo it’s still with me

Confirming it does smell different. I used to work in the restaurant that’s inside the ride. I know the smell well.

I can’t be the only one that loves the smell of the inside of the Disney rides. They all have this special smell. Just like the gift shops they have this smell from the plastic figures and stuffed animals. LOVE those smells!
