Power Pop is.....Sparky's Dream by Teenage Fanclub, No Matter What by Badfinger, I've Been Waiting by Matthew Sweet, In The Street by Big Star, My Mind by The Scruffs, It's All Right, It's O.K. by Hawks, Ecstacy by Raspberries (RIP Eric Carmen), If Only by The Hoodoo Gurus etc etc etc.....
A fave early Power Pop album is "The Who Sings My Generation", by The Who, of course! (1966). A couple early 45s I like are "Carrie Ann" by The Hollies (1967) and "It's Cold Outside" by The Choir (1967). From the '70s, Generation X's "Ready Steady Go" is great Power Pop, and "I Wanna Be With You" by Raspberries says it all . . . . Pop Rocks Radio is what's happenin', baby!
Man...all classics! I keep thinking I will do an "Influences" video one of these days...The Who, The Hollies, and The Choir all belong there (along with The Beatles, The Searchers, The Kinks, and on and on!) And you know, I hadn't really thought of Generation X as PP, but as I listen to that song right now, I think you may have something there! Thanks!!

Love your channel! How about an interview with new power pop band The Midnight Callers out of NYC? They’re on Marty Scott’s Jem Records. Cheers 🍻
Thanks, Matt! Love those guys! And Marty Scott really has something going on at Jem...one of the coolest rosters out there right now. Thanks!
