@@sdaftermath123 Honestly, I don't hear it that often and I hope it doesn't become more of a trend. I don't think it's a problem if a band sounds worse live than on record, especially with crazy vocals like this. I would rather have them tune down the set, or try their best and accept some notes will be off / unreachable. Craig used to skip some notes in the past and let the audience sing them. Much better solution imo than playing a vocal track.
@@magicfairywand bad omens does it, Ice nine kills, a lot of bigger bands use it. It just gives their vocals more pop, there’s nothing wrong with it. The technique has been used for years
@@sdaftermath123 It could be true that it's more common for bigger acts. And it's fine to have a difference of opinion here. I do think there's something wrong with it. If I pay to see a band live, I want to hear an honest performance and I think a pre-recorded vocal track diminishes that.

A lot of bands use back tracking for vocals now these days. I think it sounds better anyways.
