They eventually took pity on me and released my car while they worked out the payment with Telsa. I still have Tesla insurance because it is so much less expensive than everyone else.

Does anyone know if/how the late night driving portion causes major decreases in safety score? I work a night shift so the late night driving is not really avoidable, and is the only thing I'm hesitant about for Tesla insurance
I work the evening shift and drive home between 11pm and midnight weekdays. The tesla app has a safety score simulator and if I start off at a safety score of 100 and I just modify the Late Night Driving metric factor only, the simulator shows it drops from a score of 100 at $109/month to a score of 87 at $207/month. I have a 2022 M3P with a low deductible. You're safety score will get dinged on the highway because you need like 4 car lengths lead ahead of you and when people cut you off it does ding your score, but with FSD your safety score isn't effected (FSD also does not improve your safety score.) Also the safety score is tied to the car so multiple drivers will effect the score.
I have a friend that has Tesla and night driving after 10pm dings your score a lot. Some questions I don’t understand why people don’t answer them it literally says on the app. I guess the brand loyalty won’t let them say. But in short yes it dings your score from 10pm to 4am is considered a safety risk to Tesla

I experienced tesla safety score while trying to get FSD beta before it was released to every body. Your video should be titled great price easy set up, sucks when you need to file a claim.😊 Not sure if anyone has commented, but I’ve been in, so many accidents, before 30 almost all me, since 30 I’ve been run into Generally rule of thumb on insurance, going through your own, is if you’re not at fault, and someone else caused the accident, then you’ll pay your deductible and after the claim is paid, they’ll subrogation the other insurance company for recovery. Some insurance company regardless of outcome of subrogation, whatever is recovered, you get your deductible repaid first. Some insurance your the last to get repaid. In my opinion, and it’s just my preference, even when someone else is at fault I rather go through my insurance and have them figure it all out. That’s what in paying them for, and I use a smaller company out of Ohio. If we’re making progress every 3-5 days I call that success in Insurance land, and usually my car is either settled/repaired, and subrogation is complete in 60-90 days days aprox. If I don’t have progress every 3-5 business days I’ll speak to someone else or my agent, we’ll make a plan by when to give the person more time or to follow up with someone else. I become the squeaky wheel and they just want me to go away and go back to paying my insurance 😂
Someone with Tesla InSurance bumped into me, got the videos got the evidence but it’s been almost 6 months. No answer. Adjuster refuses to speak to me.
Tesla is rough on any interaction with texts. Even before we bought our car we had questions of a serious nature with our financing but it took 24 hours to get a response text and even then it was basic and not generally helpful. Tesla's quote to insure my M3 was higher than my current premium is to insure my house, M3, AND ICE vehicle through another provider. The M3 and ICE vehicle both have the same coverage Tesla was quoting
Kinda wild how much it varies.
Saw your story on Wamm Bamm Tesla Cam
That’s crazy! From who I’ve spoken to, Tesla insurance is usually right in line or cheaper
Haha! 😄
@@vegasteslafamily yeah I was shocked. Tesla quoted me $150/mo in IL. I got a quote from State Farm to add to my existing policy and they were like "$50 extra". DONE!
So with all the bad experiences about your Tesla Insurance..My question is are you still using the Tesla Insurance? Coz I’m having bad experience right now with my claim. FYI, I’m from NV too
Still tesla insurance. Still waiting on my claim. Don’t wanna leave Tesla insurance until it’s settled.
Lord imagine how much insurance is here in Vegas!😮 still looking into the Y though
For the 3 and Y, we pay about $250-280/mo
You should demand your case be reassigned to a new adjuster
I did! But demand to who? No one got back to me
I experienced tesla safety score while trying to get FSD beta before it was released to every body. My experience was that Tesla wants drivers to drive like grand ma - do not accelerate to quickly, do not use breaks at all. I opted out at the time and will not even try to get tesla insurance for this reason. I do not trust Tesla. Each of my service experience with Tesla has been poor.
@@Sanjay9442 the measurements are different in each state. No acceleration dings in nevada
How did you address or not get penalized for forward collisions warning? This warning is always wrong but you don’t have issue there it seems.
It dings sometimes wrongfully so, has a minimal impact on our safety score
Does anyone else have an issue with false forward collision alerts? They raid my tesla insurance & I can do anything about it.
They get me a few times, not enough to make a significant impact on my score though
Geico is about $100 a month more than the Tesla quote. Geico has been very easy to work with. Based in this review, I'm staying with Geico.
Can’t blame you. Sucks to pay more but sucks even more when something happens and you get no help.
Bumper 😮 I have Tesla Ins!!!! Maybe I need to shop around 🤔.
Haha maybe!
This sounds terrible! I guess I should be thankful that Tesla insurance is not available in FL. Say, you mentioned Safety Score... I have never seen this in the app and I've done thousands of miles now. I used FSD on a 10 day road trip, nada. Is that still a thing? Also, you mentioned refinancing... did Tesla/Wells Fargo charge you a fee for ending your loan early? Thanks!
@@richard1113 I didn’t get charged anything for ending my loan early! Also the safety score may only be visible to Tesla insurance customers
How cheap is it... give us numbers..
So many factors play into rates but we pay 250-280/mo for our model 3 and model y
@@vegasteslafamilyis that each?
Combined
@vegasteslafamily that's not bad
Cost differential? Given the same coverage without naming names and excluding the Lizzard, how much less expensive was Tesla? I'm not fond of Tesla's one-way calls, and service center mentality. I couldn't contend with that nonsense if I had an ins claim, especially if I wasn't at fault. Is Tesla insurance a fixed rate for a year or does it vary month to month? Thel latter was my impression.
It varies month to month as your score changes month to month. We pay about 250-280/month for our model 3 and model y
@@vegasteslafamily THanks, I'm currently paying about 1400 for a 24 Y long range. I had a 24 I4m50 and that when up to almost 2k a year with a safe driving record. I had Geico in the past on ICE cars, but I found they don't car what you own or how new it is, if they get get non OEM parts ttey will. Thanks for the feed back!
Your video should be titled great price easy set up, sucks when you need to file a claim.😊
Not sure if anyone has commented, but I’ve been in, so many accidents, before 30 almost all me, since 30 I’ve been run into
Generally rule of thumb on insurance, going through your own, is if you’re not at fault, and someone else caused the accident, then you’ll pay your deductible and after the claim is paid, they’ll subrogation the other insurance company for recovery.
This first sentence sums it up well lol
Someone with Tesla InSurance bumped into me, got the videos got the evidence but it’s been almost 6 months. No answer. Adjuster refuses to speak to me.
They have such a great job. They get hired and don’t have to do it.
Doesn’t sound like there are any pros to having tesla insurance. Hopefully you get straightened out soon.
Price is the biggest one
The safety score metrics they use is enough of a deterrent for me.
Fair enough!
I don’t think it’s worth paying less if your getting bad costumer services
Yep!
Tesla is rough on any interaction with texts. Even before we bought our car we had questions of a serious nature with our financing but it took 24 hours to get a response text and even then it was basic and not generally helpful. I had to resubmit the question asking for specific responses. Seemed like our advisor should be delivering pizzas and not working in customer service. Unless you talked about his pink tesla then he seemed interested in your issues.
24 hours is a very quick response by Tesla standards
@@vegasteslafamily lol...well my last purchase was with honda that took about 6 hours with similar finance. But the car was on site and we drove it home the same day. Any questions I had I could ask a team of people and they were answered professionally. I guess im old school but I like a bunch of people going to work for me they want to sell the car and are highly motivated to get banks moving forward.
Good Day! Did you purchase GAP with your Tesla Insurance? I bought a new Y that i have refused to take delivery until i know i have GAP. It was surprising to find Chase Bank will NOT offer GAP at the time of signing/delivery. I just found out yesterday Tesla Insurance offers GAP, but i have to call 2mrw. So far, the quote for coverage is the same monthly price. However, the coverage is considerably better. I understand dealing with accidents is never fun in general however hopefully accidents are far and few in between to not be a deterrent to save $$. This will be my 3rd Tesla in 3 years. Unfortunately this purchase has been nothing short of a disaster. The customer service at East Sahara is unacceptable. The entire staff including Alberto should be fired. He was too scared to talk to me yesterday let alone offer an apology since an investigation has been launched on the horrendous CS i experienced while attempting to take delivery on Thursday. Did you purchase GAP and what was the monthly cost difference?
Interesting! We got it on my model 3, not on the Y.
@vegasteslafamily May i ask what the monthly cost difference was to add the Gap on the 3?
@@savvysupastar I honestly don’t know only because we didn’t get a quote without the GAP insurance I’m sorry
@vegasteslafamily OK, then. Thanks for your time and speedy response. Cheers
Wow 😮Elon definitely needs to crack the whip in his customer service department…bad customer service is the most frustrating thing customers have to deal with…I would with Geico or Progressive. Allstate customer service is suck as well. They assign you an agent but like you said no luck that agent ever respond!
Incredibly frustrating. But it is cheap, and maybe this is how they cut cost. You get what you pay for!
So basically they are monitor your driving through the Tesla computer in the car. Cameras and all.not good naw. Have to get use to become the norm
That’s fair
Man if they're not there for you when you need them it's not worth it. I'd rather pay a little more for insurance that's actually there to help me when I need them
This is fair and why I made this video. Still haven’t heard from Anyone
@@vegasteslafamily I appreciate the video, I'm planning on getting a Tesla next year, looks like I'll be going with another insurance company!
Mines is 147 a month
Not bad!
Too many people are having bad experiences with claim handling. There are better option
Yes there definitely are
Claim part needs overhsul
Absolutely
So big bottom line is what is cost per month super clickbait
What do you mean
I mean it's different for everyone. How old the car is, how many miles, your age, and driving history(zip code is a huge factor too) . I pay something average for a 2022
@@IceManGav1we pay $250-280/month. Tesla is typically cheapest. But you get what you pay for. Is it worth saving a few extra bucks to potentially deal with this? This is the reason I made this video, to help you answer that question.
Tesla insurance is the worse if you get into any type of accident. There is no one you can call for claims only email and they take weeks to respond
This is unfortunately trie
If I may ask how long did it take for you to get your situation overall situated through Tesla insurance? . Once they responded to you did the process go smoothly after that or was it still a drag ? Thank you for the response
@@tmoneytingz we are still waiting for a response and our deductible back ☠️
@@vegasteslafamily oh my god so how long has it been in total ?
We will all find out that Elon may be the greatest con artist of this era.
Can’t wait!
You should give numbers $
It varies on so many factors! We pay about $250-280/mo combined
The only Pro is cheap, everything else is sh*t.
They totaled my 2022 Tesla, the repair cost was $12k, my car value is $36k.
Every email I send, takes 3 weeks to response.
My suggestion to anyone thinking buying Tesla Insurance, if you can afford any other company, go with other companies.
Hey at least you get a response 😬
@ after I threaten to take it to the government insurance department and asked my medical adjuster to contact the total adjuster’s manager
PLEASE AVOID TESLA INSURANCE. bad customer service
This is true
Sorry but Teslas are for people who can’t afford Ferraris. EVs all across the board are over priced beta products. You would be better off paying off your house. If you don’t own hard asset real estate it is most likely that you are still wasting your money on pie in the sky junk that depreciates the minute you drive off the lot.
This is definitely going to be a screenshot and share sort of comment 😂 thanks!
