I don't understand why they didn't include a rhodey head here. This is the only one out of the wave that didn't receive an updated head...

It must be that he didn't approve his likeness being used. I don't see it being a cost cutting measure as it would literally be the only new part they had to add to this figure for this re-release.

Unlike tony, we have never seen his face unmasked in the movie while wesring the suit. The only time we've seen his unmasked face was after he got shot, and tony destroyed the faceplate.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a likeness rights issue cuz Bandai/SHF has never done a Rhodei/Cheadle headsculpt while ML ones are rare

They can’t because there’s rights and legal issues involved, a few other manufacturers haven’t done a headaculpt for him so it’s most like he actor refusing permission, not a cost cut I don’t think cuz they could have easily reused one

It's a bummer that they didn't (or couldn't) include an unmasked head... but what really bothers me is that they didn't try to update the deco to include the Ultron kill count on his right pec. It's such a fun character-driven detail.
I'm thinking they probably couldn't. More than likely, Cheadle didn't approve his likeness being used. Also, I honestly didn't even realize until just now that his armor has an Ultron kill-count on his right pec area. I looked up images on Google and saw it. More than likely, that's the exact reason Hasbro did not include it. It was such a small detail that most people probably never even noticed it was there. So, why go through the trouble? Especially on a 6-inch scale figure.
@@SlasherIncorporated I'm aware that maybe they weren't able to include a Rhodey head, which is why in my comment I said "they didn't *(or couldn't)* include" it.
As for the Ultron kill-count, I personally think that it's a very noticeable detail. And even if the layman doesn't notice it, it's not an excuse for Hasbro to make a figure less accurate. Plus, even if it was a small detail, it's worth pointing out that the figure does include all the other tiny decals: look at the left shoulder, left bicep, and the left pec. Rhodey's nametag, which is what is in the left pec, even covers less surface than the Ultron kill-count. So they _are_ willing to go through "the trouble" of including those tiny details. Heck, the figure even has those pairs of little triangles on each pec that are even more missable than the Ultron kill count.
I agree; there is no head for this figure. I feel sad 🎉
We really need a remake of hawkeye from one of the avengers movies. It would definitely need to be completely new at this point though. I highly considered getting the hawkeye from the show, but I prefer his look from age of ultron and the original Avengers
I think the first avenger one still holds up. The age of ultron one deff needs a new one cuz that one is just the 2012 with a head with no sunglasses.
Shame there was no Civil War Hawkeye either.
Would've been nice if they gave him a better shoulder gun. I already have this one as the Punisher repaint, but even that one was wrong too lol. They should've used the Iron Patriot mold from Iron Man 3, which was also the War Machine mold from Age of Ultron.
Did we ever get a figure of his armor from Infinity War? Cuz that armor was badass.
I believe we did, but it wasn't screen accurate. They probably based the figure off of concept art.

This war machine figure is really cool, I ended up getting the 4 pack version because I needed a falcon at the time. It’s still the best war machine figure I own in my collection. This rerelease is warranted because this war machine figure was already a well made figure that still holds up. It was really well done.
I'm calling it that updated don cheadle head will come with a re release of war machine Mark 2 from age of ultron and in that wave we'll finally have our Mark 45 iron man and ultimate ultron with his sentries.
I could see myself grabbing a couple of them to f7dg3 into my classified collection as super bats.
Even if we didn't get an unmasked head, I would have liked if we had flash effects for the guns like the other War Machine figures. It would allow him to have some more interesting display options despite the fact that he is about as flexible as a brick.
Yeah some muzzle flash effects would look much better.
Wish they gave him a third set of spread open hands and some red blast effects, that along with an unmasked head would make this figure absolutely perfect. I can understand why that didnt happen, that many accessories would be insane for a regular legends

I’m only speculating here, but it could be that Hasbro only had the Don Cheadle likeness rights for AoU only and no other movie. For example, the upcoming unmasked Andrew Garfield Spider-man figure is specifically branded “TASM2” and not “NWH” like the rest of the line.
Makes sense. I'm willing to bet that's exactly the case.
This I need badly. I still love my IM2 WM, but it's really off scale and looks small
I think one small difference is a cleaner chest plate. The arc reactor and the silver spots on the side look cleaner and straighter. Also I think the paint is significantly cleaner.
If there was a don Cheadle head then you can put it on the mark 2 iron man figure because he was wearing it in the second iron man movie.

Great review but as far as that little folding gun thing goes, it's supposed to be a Mac 10. He even holds it sideways to shoot it. That makes this figure SO MUCH COOLER. War Machine is the OG (Original Gangster)
I really wish that they should give us a updated version of the scarlet witch from civil war Same as spider-man in his stark tech suit From civil war And more pointly give us an ant man figure from civil war I know that we have the giant man version I'm referring to ant man when we 1st seen him in the updated version of the Suit Also give us a black widow and hawkeye from civil war To complete the team captain America and team iron man sides.
I just got the original release today just so i could get the mk 27 iron man (I'm primarily an iron man armor collector) i still wanna pick this infinity saga one up for the nicer colors and shinier paint though! And the new mk 46 iron man is one of my favourite figures now for sure!

I think it would have been fun for them to make an updated Hulkbuster. I’m surprised they haven’t gone back to that. It played a decent enough role in the Infinity Saga
They also used this body for the Punisher War machine.

So I just bought mine and I was perplexed about my accessories because they were sooooo loose and didn’t plug in so I came here for reference lol
i'll get it to go with my war machine punisher, I'm gonna take the leg/forearm guns and put them on punisher to bulk out his legs, punisher needs more fire power
I'm not a big fan of this war machine due to how short he is. I actually really like the war machine from the big thorbowski baf wave. I know it's not screen accurate, but it's a cool design.
I already considered it as one of the worst figures as the torso looks small when you compare to the arms and legs which make the legs too long and I know it may not be for everyone but to me, it looks like he has gorilla arm syndrome. Hasbro should’ve just completely remake the figure in a brand new sculpt head to toe instead.
Peter and war machine are the only ones I’m not getting. But a Rhodes head would have deff made me get another one 😅

You forgot to mention they use the same body for the punisher war machine which was really inaccurate and it felt really lazy. They didn't even bother to paint the skull in the face and the color wasn't even black. We need and update figures for war machine civil war and punisher. Also the original war machine has that dry dusty black or gray color, it was never truly black mate like this release so it's not really dust in your copy.

Hasbro is lazy! I don't care what others say. This is why I don't collect from them anymore. They're charging $25 for a figure that was worth $19. Btw the black widow figure was a prime example on just how crappy hasbro is.
