It is great to see the ecstatic and cheery faces of the well-dressed but exhausted crews after months and years of silent toil and bare chilly shorelines bereft of spectators in all weather foule and faire on waters murky and grey to literally have their day in the sun spangled by glints from brilliant and artful silver trophies and cups seemingly from an ancient age. It's like the light at the end of the tunnel for many of those rowers who maybe even lost a year or two with the maddening pandemic. At the end, the sportsmanship and grace shine through along such a lovely plot of ancient green ground and tranquil river and the lifelong bonds of friendship are made stronger when wet (if not the Thames, then Pimms and Plonk!). Good job to all those who did their absolute best. (Good job to the Spectators and Families too for keeping it nice. Big Cheer to the Townsfolk for great hospitality.... and quaintness!)
My goal in life is to make it here. I've been rowing since i was seven and i get chills anytime i watch a Henley video. But this one is very special and different. I love it, never stop making content!!!!💗🚣🏻♀️
I rowed at Henley ‘82 and Henley Masters 2013. It’s magical. Wish Eamon was around for my races. It’s great to chronicle such a historic and meaningful race.
If you lose a race at Henley - you never forget it.. This film exemplifies how special is Henley - just lots of very simple things done very well, in a lovely setting, for 150 years.. the greatest athleticism.. rowing is open to anyone, and the person who pulls hardest (nearly) always wins.. there is almost no 'equipment advantage' of any kind.. See the photos of the thousands of small boats that joined in along the banks in the 1880s, the Great Edwardian era. Yes, Oxford Brookes is the most social of all academic clubs, by far. In the 2000 Sydney Olympics final it was a Brit 8 that got gold - manned mostly by a young crew from Brookes, read up about it.. England invented the modern world, and sport, too.
What a spectacle ... says a lot about the relevance of this event US folks come over and show up. Tks for the vid, must have been a tremendous work to edit all together. :-)
Eamon your film making just keeps getting better and better ! Really interesting. Great to see videos of rowers taken by a rower - so many videographers show you the rower but not his blades at work. Brilliant shots, great angles, good cutting and interesting story. Good work!
Who would have thought that Blink 182, the quaintest riverside hamlet on much-loved river, and dynamo athletes in slick watercraft could come together so nicely?? Mr . Glavin did! That's his style, Sir!
Two things. Firstly do the ale trail as a bonus video. Secondly cafe buendia by the Sainsbury's and the Starbucks is a sleeper hit. Now you know. From a local.
unique microcosmos but is it worth to emphasize while the whole rowing world is declining at least that 2000 m regatta lane racing ? Red bull will push coastal rowing beyond what 2000 m races had to offer and the olympics will most likely reduce the rowing event due to the high amount of athletes and ressources needed, where we have seen already the smaller and smaller fields 7 boats or just 6 boats qualified means a terrible competition that starts with a lance race, not heats. This is the core challenge , not the royal henley rowing regatta for the small elite cause the olmypic event needs the attention and attraction to keep the small school rowing clubs alive that had suffered a lot from economy crisis 2008 (less money gifted to them) to covid era with years of no new members and what not. You should look at the end of olympic rowing as we now it cause the level of competition is high and intense in the single, maybe double and eights, but in many other ares it is weaker than a Lucerne Word Cup. For those in Henley it might be a different world but the mass of rowers is not in the UK nor will ever participate and might only watch the 2000 m races during the olympics, while the average TV viewer is watching less and less rowing races during the olympics cause it gets lost among the other , faster sports tv tend to cover a lot more. And I bet coastal rowing will beat the classic rowing if you ask the companies that invest in ad campaigns that the coastal event is a lot more attractive than world cup and world champs. Check those advertisers of the past: Samsung has vanished as world cup sponsor years ago and now ?
Best Eamon video yet? I think so. Can't wait to see how you top it 🍠
you an op for the carrot emoji
Taking Rowing content to the next level. Thanks for your efforts in keeping our sport evolving Eamon.

Gorgeous film! You captured the mood of the whole event, and it's an interesting contrast to the mood in the "Regatta of Death" film.
For sure! A celebration of rowing verses the gladiatorial battles of rowing
Amazing video eamon, the video captures all the different emotions of a regatta as special as Henley
One word: BANGER. Such detailed and entertaining

Stunning, stunning, stunning!!! Goose bumps on at least half a dozen occasions - I’ll look out for you in stewards on Thursday!
Windsor boys a and b making the final has to be a highlight
One of the coolest parts of the weekend, some serious speed out of one school!
Eamon, Katie, and Lisa- what as GREAT trio of photo pros! Excellent edit!
And Roesie!
What a spectacle ... says a lot about the relevance of this event US folks come over and show up. Tks for the vid, must have been a tremendous work to edit all together. :-)
Loved watching it - Henley racing just gives a whole new level of chills.
Excellent coverage Eamon!
Incredible video, I've never seen such great rowing cinematography

This is an outstanding video - your best so far!
Wow that’s very kind of you to say!

Quality is top notch Eamon! Keep up the great work!
Marvelous Eamon wonderful video...thank you.
great video. insane quality. one of the best henley videos so far.
Niall Beggan, the people's champion
Fantastic. Fantastic. Couldn't stop watching. So many nice and intersting shots, with a great narrative. You are a great artist. Congratulations.
the cox recording gave me chills
It makes me laugh. American accent doesn’t lend itself well to coxing. The British eight cox videos are way more chilling.
Beautiful film making from someone who clearly understands rowing. Well done, great work
I appreciate that! Helps being a huge rowing nerd
Glorious! May your video get a huge number of views and rowing get the many more bodies in the boats and the crowds that it deserves.
Awesome take on the week the cuts video edits, resolution, the crews efforts , vibe from spectators n Henley, the music all on point ! Well done.
Been watching since the commercial days! Amazing to see where the content has gone, hope it keeps coming! And thanks for all the videos!:)
Ahhhh an OG vlog viewer! Glad it’s gotten better too hahaha
Who would have thought that Blink 182, the quaintest riverside hamlet on much-loved river, and dynamo athletes in slick watercraft could come together so nicely?? Mr . Glavin did! That's his style, Sir!

Shush
i dont think it is declining as school rowing and universities have reached all time highs this year. i dont see why you think its declining.
Awesome Video
