ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL! So enjoyed this episode. I was born in 1958! I did ‘rural studies’ at my girls school too. Your mum is lovely.☺️🌸

Wonderful episode, loved your reminiscing with your school reports and the photos. Tommy is adorable, it was lovely to see him with your mum. Enjoyed seeing your walk at the end, such a beautiful part of the country that you live in. Take care xx

Oh thank you Sue. Interesting with school reports. You can't put an old head on young shoulders I think is the saying. If only I knew then what I know now!! Thanks for sharing with me

Thank you, Pene, for another wonderful chinwag filled with all sorts of interesting bits and bobs! History is so much more meaningful when it becomes more personal - one reason why it’s so lovely to be hearing about your mum’s experiences (and yours, too!) Thanks for the glimpses of gorgeous little Tommy and of your walk by the sea too. xx

Thanks Helen, I have learned a lot about history listening to mum. Interesting to make links as you say. A lovely walk with empty beaches at the moment - won't be long and they'll be packed. Enjoyed the ginger nuts btw. Family visiting loved them.

Brilliant episode. I loved the menu of topics. School reports from the hamper were so entertaining. How special to have a dress for the trip to the theatre Drury Lane. Fabulous treat. How funny you didn’t want to wear it. Understandable you were indignant when asked to wear it not knowing where you would be going. Great memory for you to have that special treat. Stunning picture of you as you left school. Fascinating fact was so interesting. The TA so helpful in our daily lives. So many memories evoked by your mums humorous and honest chat. How did she have the energy with a family and helping the business starting up to do all that entertaining seems she always had an open door and food on the table to share.. Tommy is just so cute! Loved all the other bits too. Thank you it’s such a highlight of my weekend when I get the announcement of a new episode. I don’t know how you find time for everything but I guess you take after your mum in that respect!

Always fun to sit and listen to you chat and reminisce. A my fair lady dress! How cute would that be. Do you remember if anyone remarked on your dress when you attended the performance?
I love the wool you bought, even if the colors weren't exactly as you thought. They look great together.
Tommy is adorable. The white cricket jumper is really cute.
    Thanks for the walk.
    See you next time.

Hello Karen, I don't remember if anyone commented on my dress but I do remember feeling very special and glad I wore it. The colours are knitting up great. Glad you enjoyed the walk.

Lovely to spend some time with you again. Thankyou for the beach footage, I love the seashore. Tommy is adorable, grandbabies bring so much joy. We have our grandson one day per week, he's 3 in April. Then collect his big sister from school, she's 7. Looking forward to seeing your Aunty's shawl come to life. I'm currently knitting a wrap in suri alpaca silk for our daughter's Easter wedding. The yarn was dyed by my husband who has his own little business.
Hope you have a lovely week, take care.🌈

Thanks Angela. What a joy having your grandchildren. I never thought I would have great grandchildren! Enjoying Tommy so much. How lovely to knit a wrap for the wedding and with your husband's yarn. Doubly great. Can you share you husband's business name? What fun.

@@penelopeschinwag Hi Pene. Would love to share. My other half is Andy, his etsy shop is AtticSpinDye.
He originally started to dye just for me. We soon realised he was dyeing faster than I could knit, AtticSpinDye was born. He does a range called Rainbow zebra, to help raise awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. A health condition that I have. He's a great advocate for crafting for therapy.
He doesn't knit or crochet himself but does spin. Partial to hand knit socks, good job I love making them.🌈

Loved the empty beach. Little Tommy is very advanced for his age, so alert and lovely to look at. Quick question from an amateur: how do you wind the wool from the skein (love the colours by the way)? I remember as a child holding the wool for my mother and how it made my arms ache.

    • @penelopeschinwag
      @penelopeschinwag  2 роки тому

Tommy is the best baby, smiles, eats, sleeps and loves all our chatter. Pure joy. Yup, still winding the wool in the same way here. I put mine over the back of a chair but having someone hold it is much easier. Pete tends to get grumpy - it's true it does make your arms ache. Hope you like the colours.
