I am so suprised that Tamiya made this as the Europa was not a huge model for Lotus but as a Europa fan myself I will be buying this kit, I will be leaving the back wing off myself
Just bought one of these for my birthday. I already have 17 m-chassis cars, and I'm not a huge Europa fan, but I love building and painting them, and this is a very unique body. 👍
I preordered one about a month or so ago. Anxiously waiting for it to finally ship. I’m going to paint mine British Racing Green. The only appropriate color for a vintage lotus.
Well, I own an M-05 Hippy Van, an M-06 Karman Ghia, and an M-06 that I more appropriately fitted the MkII Escort Rally Body on with the same wheels the Lotus has but with the M Series Rally Block tires. I love them all and so I will likely buy this one too. The Hippy Van (FLower Power) I slowed down with a 35 or 45T motor and then braced the body posts front to rear. The Rally however is powered by a brushless tazer 2in1 and I added oil filled shocks and tamiya sway bars front and rear. It is a riot to drive and a handful. Great video and yes, these are quite fun little cars. I only hope that with HPI in trying to come back. Will re-release the cup racer series. Really want to get my hands on the Datsun 510 again.
Thats cool! I wish tamiya or any other company would make a 90s ford econoline rc. Its probably the #1 most used and abused vehicle in america by everyone here from corporations to campers to daily drivers
At first I didn't like this kit, but now I have to say that the design of the body and the 2wd chassis has grown on me. I will definitely be getting one next year after I build my Grasshopper 2 Black Edition this holiday season!
i've just finish the 1/24 hobby model kit, that's a good idea from Tamiya to have made the bodyshell in 1/10 scale for their M06 series ; I love this car!!!!
Just a few moments ago I finished the chassis for the tt02 Porsche 911 RSR martini. Next weekend it's time for the body. Really enjoyed the Tamiya experience!
While the paintjob and detailing is immaculate, I despise the looks of the car, so I wouldn't mind seeing it traction roll for eternity, untill the whole body has disintegrated to scraps. 😆 The m06 is a nifty little chassis. Love the outdoors driving footage, always appreciated!
Beautiful! I absolutely love it! I’m in the USA so there’s some vehicles we don’t see a lot of. This is so cool looking 👍🏻🍻Thanks for sharing this one!
Lotus Europa Special M-06M! It's a classic design, but quite interesting. The movement is good and I live in Korea, so I'll have to find out if there is a lotus at the Tamiya store. Thank you for good information.👍👍👍
What a cool looking little car, nice one Tamiya! It would be nice if they included bearings and oil shocks, I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard or expensive, other manufacturers manage it. It was faster on the standard 540 silver can motor than I was expecting, it'll be a pocket rocket on a good brushless system. Great video as always!!
I was actually thinking on getting this. My wife was giving me my choice of cars I want for Christmas and thought about this but I went for a monster beetle instead since I wanted one since I was a kid
Love Tamiya RC Had a early Rault Formula 2 car many years ago . When will the Europa be available and where can I buy one? Some thing to drive while I restore My Type 65 Europa.
Nice kit, I have the 1st gen Miata Version and love it. I put in a sport tuned motor but took it out because I rolled it too much on a track. I bought generic oil shocks but wasnt happy with them. Should I go Yeah Racing or Tamiya for some good shocks? The track was originally parking spots so.its not super smooth. I'm tempted to get the Lotus for the shelf or for when I want to just cruise around. Tamiya kits are always fun
Ha, I remember these lotus, there is a guy down the street from me still has one sitting in the yard. Kind of odd looking body but pretty unique. Only Tamiya. 🙂
Not a fan of the trademark Tamiya slop on the steering! I can't recall how many washers my Tamiya M08 chassis has to make it somewhat driveable at higher speeds. But on a small, twisty track, they're a ton of fun. If you're thinking about getting an M-chassis, I'd recommend a not so powerful set of electronics (the one shown here would be ideal, I think), and just enjoy it for the great handling instead. That's the real point of them, IMO.
They definitely hold up! I've got an M08 on a 10.5T sensored brushless system. Although brushless - or anything powerful, really- can be a bit harder on the (remember, plastic) gears if you always drive it hard and/or skip periodic maintenance
@@Nerm78 Thanks! Which one do you mean, though? My latest comment in this very video would've been perfect for you to read, haha. I was saying that what is used here with the Mabuchi and 1060 HW ESC is just perfect. But if you must insist on a brushless, I'd get the least powerful sensored (better precision/control) motor you can find, like 25-27T. I think with the M-chassis it's all about the scale handling on a small, winding track where they really come to life.

100% agree!
Better quality ELECTRICS than a period '70s Lotus too???
Gotta be in the JPS livery colours :-)

As a former JPS Europa owner and enthusiast…….that rear wing must go😂
Absolutely!
And I bet it is way more reliable than the full sized one. 😁👍🏼👍🏼
Lmao😂
😂
absolutely
Why such bad reputation?(Renault ,or Cosworth engine)?

I personally wont ever buy this RC, but the way you present your videos make them worth while to watch.
Looks nice....wish tamiya would jump in the next century and bag the screws with what your working on.....love the scale realism.....great video 👍
It actually comes with the largest pinion in the kit, so you can't ad a bigger one for more speed
Great looking chassis and body. Have to say tho the chassis would have been a better one for the Ford escort mk2. Thanks for the vid 👍

You can also use a T adapter for the battery
Thanks for that dude. Ordered! 😁
Enjoy it! Such a fun kit
Good video my friend 👍
You should do more on mini rc 6x6 crawlers, such as the panda hobby!
There’s something in the works 🤫
Good to know! Thanks!
Are the M06 and M08 the same final drive?

Are you my neighbor? Lol mine is under my carport pretty hidden from the street.
Do you actually have to unscrew the battery door just to take the battery out? Or can you just pull off the clips and take it out normally?
Can you review rc pro boat UL-19
Off topic rc question I have a v3 big rock is there a way to tighten up or a different option so I have stronger steering? Thanks
I have one on the way so if I figure anything out I will definitely let you know. Just sub my channel so you’ll get updates.
Better servo is a good start.
