Yea, its best if you make it mono. At least till 150 hz. I'm using "Fruity Stereo Enhancer" to make it mono. Or sometimes I just make the lows mono from a master EQ.

Set Range on the top right of the sample window to 48, then the Pitch knob to the left of it will make it able for you to pitch it down 4 octaves.

Yes they should be cuted at least till about 100 Hz.
