Mad respect for the american kids following their father and mother into the urban side of malaysia, KL pasar malam trying out whatever. Blessed family ❤
The kids are amazing ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Granite's cool, Cedar's such a sweetheart & Forest is adorable. Big love to the wonderful parents Jonathan & Kelly ❤️❤️❤️ greetings from Malaysia ❤️❤️❤️❤️ you're one COOL FAMILY ✌️✌️✌️✌️
please allow me to apologize for my fellow malaysian countrymen and women in the background staring every time they walk pass you guys, its just that this is something we dont see every day. you have to visit penang, it is the food haven of malaysia. much love to you and your family.
My respect to you sir. 👍 Going around the world non stop and taking your wife and kids along is not an easy job. Enjoy your time in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. 🇲🇾 Your kids will remember it all their life. 👍

It’s so wonderful to see you all enjoying all the delicious food in Asia. The kids are so adventurous ! Their appreciation of different cuisines is heart warming.
It’s always fun to notice those similarities! Our kids definitely have traits from both of us, and it’s amazing to see how they each take after us in different ways.
It's wholesome to see you guys as a family going on a foodie adventure while describing the atmosphere and taste. God bless and hope you enjoy more of our beloved country.❤
I can't believe your channel. The kids can eat a lot, describe food pretty good and really cute. I actually believe whatever the kids describe better than most youtuber because kids cant help but be honest
Really appreciate your honest and not overexaggerated reactions with the foods you try, especially the kids. They seem to really remember the foods they try. Cool!! Take care and safe travels!
Wow! I love how the kids are willing to try any food presented to them. That vinegar pork trotters is an acquired taste. That sour gingery taste is either wonderful or horrible for some. Amazing how you guys love it! And it’s awesome how you let them kids enjoy sweet treats too. Good Wednesday!
Mr Jonathan, you must be the toughest blogger around, as physically and mentally you are taxed to the maximum. Being a teacher it is an advantage as you can go on talking non-stop. Your wife also exhibits her cheerful side. Your kids played their roles well though I wasn't quite sure if they could keep on. I don't expect kids to maintain consistent demeanour throughout, but your kids are veterans. Enjoy your stay.
While keeping up with this journey of yours from watching some of your videos, I kid you not, your kids are the greastest blessings you have. I am really impressed with how well-behaved they are. Keep up the good job, you guys. Wish you the best in your endeavours.
In Indonesia, they call it martabak manis if the seller also sells the savoury martabak together. Otherwise, it is called terang bulan. Some of Indonesians think this pancake like martabak manis as local invention as they have only seen our thin crispy version of apam balik. In truth, this snack which can be thick like pancake or thin and crispy were brought over from southern china migrants to south east asia in 19th century.
Wow....its amazing watching your kids tried all different kind of Asian food...they grew up familiar w/ International food....how lucky they are....they would appreciate for introducing all kind of food at very young age..kudo to the parents👋👋👍👍❤❤🌎🌍
how mad is it that while researching and planning for my upcoming Langtang Valley Trek, i stumbled upon your YT videos, which were the most helpful especially the Kyanjin Ri one...and then a few days later, this video appeared in my feed and realized that you were actually in Tmn Connaught a month ago (!!!), which is the place where i was born and bred ! My parent's home is like literally a min walk away from the night market !! (we call it Pasar Malam!)....what a small world ! haha.......your Nepal vids have been very helpful to me in my planning.....am really looking forward to Nepal....thanks a lot and bless u all ! awesome family ! PS: Apam Balik is the bomb ! Making me hungry now...i havent had it in ages....might actually go grab a quick one this Wed lol
For the apam balik, I would recommend the original one! The combination of sweet corn, peanuts and sugar is just heavenly Although I like the smaller and thinner one better 😁
The longest night market is in Setia Alam which only happen on Saturday. It is one hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur. It just slightly longer than Taman Connaught night market. This night market in the video is much nearer to Kuala Lumpur. Most of the street food will be available in both night market. Check out the list (from KL Foodie recommendation) below if you looking for night market on any day. Monday: Pasar Malam SS2 Tuesday: Pasar Malam Sri Petaling Wednesday: Pasar Malam Taman Connaught Thursday: Plaza Mont Kiara Fiesta Nite Market Friday: Pasar Malam Seksyen 3 Kota Damansara Saturday: Pasar Malam Setia Alam Sunday: Pasar Malam Taman Megah
Your videos are making me want to travel further afield then jst Europe (I’m in the uk) my son who is 8 is a massive foodie I think he would love the different foods you are all trying , maybe one day. Love your videos you and Kelly are doing an amazing job raising your kids , safe travels 😊
Omg you really know where the best food market is & so happy for your family especially your kids enjoying it, guess the 1st US citizens to try the foods at Tmn Connaught market.
Apam Balik basically is one of my favourite desserts, there are two version, one is the thicker which chewy and buttery peanut (more corn will be better) and the thinner which crispy like a snacks.
Man I regret not going to this market when I visited Malaysia..... it was only on Wednesday and my schedule was packed.....guess I will have to go back again
Really enjoyed your videos so far ♡♡♡ Your family is amazing and everyone's really open to trying different kinds of food which is awesome!! That tornado potato crisp is a korean thing. Korean stuff is popular here, same for the tiny crabs (korea+japan) and taro's popularity since way back is because Japanese stuff is also very popular here.. As you can see, we can't helped but reflected those in our eats too.. Seriously you guys could've passed as Asians with those palate of yours haha Fyi black vinegar pork trotter (boiled with loads of ginger) is most recommended for post partum recovery & in the past was included in a baby's full moon gift pack to friends and families. Black vinegar is more earthy than astringent, kinda like balsamic vinegar with toned down acidity. I was kinda surprised you guys didn't try the salted egg fried food stall. I feel like you guys might enjoy the taste tremendously. Do come back again to Malaysia, with our multi cultural society, there's plenty to eat from different ethnic groups and some dishes which are influenced by other ethnic / culture as well XD Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. Keep up the good work ^^
⭐️ we have taro too in the Philippines. We call it “gabi”. It’s not ube. Similar but different. 🇵🇭 One distinction is that we normally use gabi in hot savory while ube is almost uniquely a snack or dessert. Gabi is used in one hot sweet snack called ginataan halo-halo (not the popular ice dessert but a hot bowl; ginataan actually means cooked in coconut cream).
the black vinegar trotter is usually cooked for ladies after delivery during confinement, its suppose to be sweet, vinegary - suppose to be warming up the body after delivery
Taman Connaught = Connaught Garden There is a Pasar Malam (Night Market) on any given night in Kuala Lumpur and its surroundings. Usually only one night in one place. The one in Taman Connaught is the largest.
The kids do a very good job of describing the food they taste, much better than many youtubers.
Especially so called “influencers” who have all the credibility of my shoe & make me cringe more than the smell from my shoe after a mini marathon 😂
Thank you so much. That’s very kind of you. I’ll pass your message to the kids. :-)
The children only taste not eat.
You can see how happy the children are with each get their one bun.
@@zaintonputeh8475 Yet they give better reviews than some fake food bloggers & influenza (spelling error intentional).

Because murtabak is middle Eastern influence here
