No problem man, glad the video helped! And yeah the void slash JC is very straightforward, I like that one too. @@OtalTomBR Absolutely, I've seen quite a few advanced players use the keyboard (no mouse). In fact, most keyboard players only use the keyboard and using the mouse doesn't seem to be very common. And if they can make insanely stylish combos with Dante and Vergil, I'm sure you can too
@@PECULIAR773 This is by far the best Vergil tutorial on UA-cam. You're really in depth with explaining how everything works in everyway, and it's good cause this is exactly what I was looking for. I've played all DMC's and I always felt like the pros didn't want to teach anyone. I've watched so many vids on UA-cam and didn't learn anything till now. To top it off you give credit to others when you don't need to as you deserve all the credit. You are the storm that is approaching..
One thing I'd like to add to the doppelganger section: If Vergil uses a Just Charge Beowulf attack, (meaning he performs an attack the instant Beowulf flashes), then the clone will do a Perfect Judgement Cut in sync with that Just Charge Beowulf attacks.
1:35:53 funny enough rising star and upperslash 2 are the only ones without a pjc window 1:41:32 it comes specifically when his animation pauses a bit also pjc is just vergil doing 3 jcs, look at the dmg, it's triple of the normal jc, his animation is basically normal jc's animation but there are 2 extras in that split second, it hits longer, almost as if there were 3 times more hits
Another thing about Just Frame(perfect) judgement cut, you can do it when using beowulf or mirage edge, you just need doppleganger for that. The timing is the same as when you are using yamato ... well that's what i think. Practice using beowulf first as the timing to release the button is when it gains a charge (which is also called "Just Charge" that deals more damage than normal). There is also another tech called DT cancel where you skip certain parts of a combo i.e. Yamato Combo A or Beowulf Combo B for faster SDT finishers. This only works for Vergil and Nero btw.
For the even quicker perfect jc u just want to do it as soon as the attack animation ends. Right when he pauses and before he begins the recovery animation/ sheathing his sword. I never even knew there was 2 different perfect jcs i only knew about this one
@@PECULIAR773 for some reason the one before he sheaths his sword feels 10x easier. Ever since I seen this video I've been trying to practice the other one and I suck ass at it.
@@mannmann314 Some are actually impossible to do, at least for me, like yamato combo A in base. I try to time it and release the attack button the millisecond he sheathes his sword after flipping it and nothing
Thanks for the feedback! I say left/right/up/down because some people struggle to understand even the most basic aspects of the game, so the reason I oversimplify things is in case someone who has 0 understanding of the mechanics is watching the video and wants to try their luck eventually, even though saying "backwards" and "towards" would more than suffice
Thank you thank you thank you for this video I’ve been meaning to pick up Vergil after I got the special edition for my ps5. After playing with Vergil for about a couple of hours he’s actually so fun and easier for me to play than Dante so far lol. No hate towards Dante but his skill ceiling is so high 😅
@@pkgodie8001 You're welcome! I'm glad you found the video helpful. I love playing both characters, but I agree that Vergil is much simpler and just feels so fast and satisfying to play
People say Vergil dont have depth. Vergil has insane amount of depth with his doppelganger active. People just doesnt need to learn them bcuz Vergil is too damn powerful and can handle things on his own. Whereas with Dante if you are not good with him you will get punished.
Its funny and annoying to me that there are more video tutorials about vergil than dante. Anyways thanks for the guide. Its very well made. I just wish there were more dante set up guides
Thanks man, glad you liked it! As for Dante, I spent all my time in this game mastering Dante before Vergil came out and I even managed to do 6 semi advanced combos with him. I can play Dante and Vergil on the same level but Dante is definitely 5000 times more time consuming when it comes to combos, simply because of the amount of things you have to do. I would have NO PROBLEM making a guide on Dante, but this guide wouldn't delve into any complex mechanics, it would just be a very basic guide going over his moves and attacks and their properties. I mean this Vergil guide is also fairly basic, the only thing I touch upon more is the doppelganger and there are still some other advanced mechanics out there for Vergil that I haven't covered in this video. I would highly recommend Conqvist Guides. He made so many useful guides on Dante and his weapons and different enemies, I think you would definitely find that helpful.
Hey man! I'm happy to inform you that I've FINALLY made a Dante guide. You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/P8KFf_RBYlI/v-deo.html There's also a guide made by Nelo47Angelo, it's way more concise (even though it's almost 2 hours long) and he delves into the really advanced stuff: ua-cam.com/video/Nv158AdWtJY/v-deo.html Have fun!
Yo thanks! I wish I could say yes but I'm really bad with Nero lol. I'm good with Dante and Vergil but for some reason I've never been able to do stylish Nero combos. Hell, for some reason I can't even seem to get exceed down, even tho perfect royal guards and judgment cuts aren't a problem. On top of that I'm kinda "retired", I still have to analyze the 5 remaining Vergil combos and that's that. As for Nero combos, there are A LOT of advanced/professional DMC players who are still active (mostly on twitter, but also on youtube). Romanov, Michellegun201, Soli, Fumituki, Vanguard, etc. If you go to my combo video where I compiled all my combos, I credited the original creators in the description and you can check their channels out. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, trying to find DMC combos and professional players is insanely difficult. I tried typing in some of the names I've just mentioned and I wasn't able to find anything, it's kinda crazy how the algorithm works
Well I'm not gonna be making an advanced Vergil guide, BUUUUUUUUUUT I did make a giant list of combo analyses. Basically I replicated about 25 incredible combos from a bunch of advanced players and I thoroughly analyzed each of the combos, going over every mistake you can make, why you can make it, what to watch out for, etc. These combo analyses go very in-depth when it comes to Vergil's doppelganger and some insanely advanced setups: ua-cam.com/play/PLQ_Lw9f8o2nkl9aeL03XNRzQKXzgBJB0H.html
Thanks for sharing bro. I wonder is there any trick that we can practice to keep the enemy in the air by Dante and Nero ( For Vergil is easier for me ). Especially for Dante, he has a lot of weapons, so I want to try many combinations, but the problem is that I will lose my rhythm if I just use JC. SO if you have any ideas, please share them with me
I made a GIANT Dante guide a few months ago: ua-cam.com/video/P8KFf_RBYlI/v-deo.html There's a section in the video where I discuss relatively simple Dante combos you can do to keep the enemy airborne. This is the first combo that comes to mind: ua-cam.com/video/7-dGEt0K8yg/v-deo.html As for ideas, I have done over 26 Vergil combos and I have analyzed all of them. You can check out the combo video where I compiled all of the combos, and if there's any combo you like in particular, you can check the analysis for that combo: ua-cam.com/video/mvBBK20i8EE/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Thanks for the suggestion, I might actually do that in the future, though I can't make any promises because for some reason every time I attempt to use the doppel weapon switcher my game crashes lol
Sometimes autism can be weaponized and we get things like this. A 2.50 hour long video just to explain the 26516 other videos churned out in an obsessive frenzied craze!
Hey man just got recommanded this, and all i have to say just wow! Im def subbed I do have 1 question tho, how you "pro players" make camera work Sometimes camera and lock on randomly locks on another enemy from across the room even tho im still holding on to lock on button, it deives me crazy And since almost all the moves need directional input, camera randomly switching viewing angle screws me really hard I just need the camera angle and the lock on the way i setup it in the first place and stay that way If its mods, please tell me which mods u combo players are using, i really wanna dabble with them myself too
Thanks a lot for the sub man, appreciate it! I wouldn't call myself a "pro player" since I only copied and replicated the work of actual professional DMC players. They were the ones who actually CAME UP with all this crazy stuff. As for the camera, oh boi. I play on the mouse and keyboard as you can see, and in certain combos the camera is your biggest enemy. I'd wager 60% of the most common mistakes I make during combos are a direct result of the camera malfunctioning. Sometimes I will press forward + trick + attack button, but instead of judgment cut end or hell on earth, Vergil does AIR TRICK and teleports to the enemy. In my moist combo analysis, I dedicated an entire section of the video to one sequence that makes the combo nigh impossible. ua-cam.com/video/VxYxYB_oQrE/v-deo.html (I timestamped it) The doppelganger is behind the enemy and is supposed to use void slash. Since he's behind the enemy, pressing forward + back + attack button (W+S+LMB) should cause the doppel to use void slash. HOWEVER, HE DOES RAPID SLASH OR UPPER SLASH INSTEAD, which is only UP+ ATTACK BUTTON or DOWN + ATTACK BUTTON. The game somehow registers the doppelganger as being on the LEFT side, despite him clearly being BEHIND the enemy. And sometimes even if I press LEFT+RIGHT+ATTACK BUTTON (A+D+LMB) it STILL doesn't work. It's clear that the camera has some massive issues in this game. The doppelganger itself is not the most difficult part, it's always the camera or some other inexplicable issue that causes you to fail over and over and over again. The moist combo should in theory be a pretty easy combo to do. YET THIS ONE SEGMENT makes it one of the hardest combos on the list simply because of the camera. And I can think of so many other combos with similar issues. But during gameplay I haven't experienced any major issues with the camera. I lock on to an enemy by holding shift and if I wanna lock onto another enemy I press CTRL to switch targets. However once I'm locked onto the enemy, I will continue to be locked on until I release the lock on button (shift) myself. It can sometimes be annoying to get the camera to lock onto the enemy you want, and instead it will lock onto some random enemy, but ONCE I'm locked on, I've never had this issue where the game would randomly lock onto another enemy.
Thanks! Yeah unfortunately he sometimes ignores inputs. I have no idea what this depends on, but I'm inclined to say it has sth to do with the camera angle. This game has a very weird issue with camera angles and sometimes the doppelganger doesn't register your inputs. This is something that I bring up A LOT during my combo analyses. Like either he ignores your inputs or he does something entirely different
For sure. I've done so many advanced Vergil combos and I can confirm that 90% of the time that you fail, it's not because it's a skill issue. It's because the game's camera is wonky so the doppelganger won't register your inputs properly.
I'm kinda "retired" when it comes to DMC combos. I plan to analyze the 4 remaining Vergil combos I did and that will probably be that. On top of that I'm a Dante and Vergil main, I'm kinda bad with Nero and I don't play V at all. And additionally there are multiple Dante guides out there that go over his weapons and mechanics more in-depth than I ever could. Conqvist Guides, 2bepowerguide and ChaserTech are some of them. You should definitely check them out. HOWEVER, I did consider making a Dante guide, but that would only go over his weapons, moves and most basic mechanics, and I think you can find that anywhere. Still it's not out of the question, so I MIGHT make a Dante guide in the future, but for now I have more pressing matters to attend to and other videos that I gotta prioritize lol

@@OtalTomBR Absolutely, I've seen quite a few advanced players use the keyboard (no mouse). In fact, most keyboard players only use the keyboard and using the mouse doesn't seem to be very common. And if they can make insanely stylish combos with Dante and Vergil, I'm sure you can too
This video is now on my sleep list so it plays every night.
@@Ninjutsu_Ninja The best way to learn things is by letting them play in your sleep fr

No problem bro, glad you liked it!
Oh hell yeah how have I not seen this before
@@jerm5466 The algorithm isn't very kind to me I guess LMAO
i feel motivated!
One thing I'd like to add to the doppelganger section: If Vergil uses a Just Charge Beowulf attack, (meaning he performs an attack the instant Beowulf flashes), then the clone will do a Perfect Judgement Cut in sync with that Just Charge Beowulf attacks.
Yeap, I was gonna include that in the vid but there was so much to keep track of that I ended up forgetting lol
just charges also have 50% dmg buff
1:35:53 funny enough rising star and upperslash 2 are the only ones without a pjc window
1:41:32 it comes specifically when his animation pauses a bit
also pjc is just vergil doing 3 jcs, look at the dmg, it's triple of the normal jc, his animation is basically normal jc's animation but there are 2 extras in that split second, it hits longer, almost as if there were 3 times more hits
Yep, I remembered that about a week after uploading the video. Was considering reuploading the whole thing for that one missed segment but oh well
Best video of all time
@@Nearthecos THANKS!
For the even quicker perfect jc u just want to do it as soon as the attack animation ends. Right when he pauses and before he begins the recovery animation/ sheathing his sword. I never even knew there was 2 different perfect jcs i only knew about this one
Yeah there are like two versions. The one where you wait to sheathe your sword and one where you do it intuitively
@@PECULIAR773 for some reason the one before he sheaths his sword feels 10x easier. Ever since I seen this video I've been trying to practice the other one and I suck ass at it.
@@mannmann314 Oh don't worry, the timing is simply more strict with the sword sheathing method, you'll get the hang of it easily
@@PECULIAR773 yeah. It's just messes me up the way he delays some of them longer than an elden ring boss attack lol
@@mannmann314 Some are actually impossible to do, at least for me, like yamato combo A in base. I try to time it and release the attack button the millisecond he sheathes his sword after flipping it and nothing
Bro just a suggestion for any possible future guides when explaining the direction inputs for moves, just say "away and toward"
You helped me as well. Thank you
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the video helpful
You can watch it here: ua-cam.com/video/P8KFf_RBYlI/v-deo.html
There's also a guide made by Nelo47Angelo, it's way more concise (even though it's almost 2 hours long) and he delves into the really advanced stuff: ua-cam.com/video/Nv158AdWtJY/v-deo.html
Have fun!
Amazing video… would you consider doing one for Nero? I typed “Nero” combo and it’s been years since someone used the main character
Also with mirage edge spin combo u can also do pjc right after spin ends even tho u are still using mirage edge
Yup, I know. I was gonna add a section where I discuss how you can do perfect JCs while having beowulf or the mirage edge equipped but I forgot xD
@@PECULIAR773 its all good 😁
Maybe one day a advanced Vergil guide …
Well I'm not gonna be making an advanced Vergil guide, BUUUUUUUUUUT I did make a giant list of combo analyses. Basically I replicated about 25 incredible combos from a bunch of advanced players and I thoroughly analyzed each of the combos, going over every mistake you can make, why you can make it, what to watch out for, etc. These combo analyses go very in-depth when it comes to Vergil's doppelganger and some insanely advanced setups:

Thanks for sharing bro. I wonder is there any trick that we can practice to keep the enemy in the air by Dante and Nero ( For Vergil is easier for me ).
Especially for Dante, he has a lot of weapons, so I want to try many combinations, but the problem is that I will lose my rhythm if I just use JC. SO if you have any ideas, please share them with me
I made a GIANT Dante guide a few months ago:
ua-cam.com/video/P8KFf_RBYlI/v-deo.html
There's a section in the video where I discuss relatively simple Dante combos you can do to keep the enemy airborne. This is the first combo that comes to mind:
ua-cam.com/video/7-dGEt0K8yg/v-deo.html
As for ideas, I have done over 26 Vergil combos and I have analyzed all of them. You can check out the combo video where I compiled all of the combos, and if there's any combo you like in particular, you can check the analysis for that combo:

Hey man just got recommanded this, and all i have to say just wow! Im def subbed
I do have 1 question tho, how you "pro players" make camera work
Sometimes camera and lock on randomly locks on another enemy from across the room even tho im still holding on to lock on button, it deives me crazy
And since almost all the moves need directional input, camera randomly switching viewing angle screws me really hard
I just need the camera angle and the lock on the way i setup it in the first place and stay that way
If its mods, please tell me which mods u combo players are using, i really wanna dabble with them myself too
Thanks a lot for the sub man, appreciate it!
In my moist combo analysis, I dedicated an entire section of the video to one sequence that makes the combo nigh impossible.
ua-cam.com/video/VxYxYB_oQrE/v-deo.html (I timestamped it)
The doppelganger is behind the enemy and is supposed to use void slash.
@@PECULIAR773 ty so much for the detailed answer!
At least its good to know that im not alone with the camera problems
@@bloodmoontalon No problem! It can be seriously annoying
Doppelgänger is just simulatenous equations
Man, this video a gold, but I have question - doppelganger just ignoring some imputs, how fix this shit?
Big thanks!
@@RuinMokuJin No problem!
Holy hell.
Thx i will watch that. I cant play with vergil
Hope it helps!
Trust me, 90% of the difficulty of DMC is fighting the awful camera and lock-on system
For sure. I've done so many advanced Vergil combos and I can confirm that 90% of the time that you fail, it's not because it's a skill issue. It's because the game's camera is wonky so the doppelganger won't register your inputs properly.
can you do one on the other characters?
Actually I've changed my mind, I'll probably make a Dante guide down the line. I just don't know when exactly.
