      Ali-Marie Ingram JUST REMEMBER:
      1. Only the LORD JESUS is INFALLIBLE, not your Pope
      2. Only the LORD JESUS is the MEDIATOR, not your Mary or any dead saints.
      3. The Father already know what's in your heart when you pray. You don't have to babble with a rosary to keep track of your prayers.
      4. Grace is bestowed to you by God because of CHRIST, not of your own doing.
      5. You confess to God your wrongdoing, not to a mere man. And if you offend someone, then, ask their forgiveness which is accounted to you by God.

    • @paradoxo9111
      @paradoxo9111 6 років тому +52

      @abukid
      1. We teach that the infallibility of the Pope is a negative phenomenon: it is merely the Holy Spirit protecting him from error, and under very specific conditions. Hence, this infallibility is derived from the infallibility of Christ, and cannot be in conflict with it.
      2. Define the term mediator. In the Church, we hold that Jesus is the one mediator of salvation, and we are perfectly consistent in this regard because we don't regard anyone else as a savior. When you apply the word "mediator" to "Mary [and] any dead saint," you're using it in a completely innocuous way, and then whining about it, since anyone who prays for another person is a mediator in that innocuous sense. This in fact makes you a hypocrite, assuming you're comfortable with asking others to pray for you.
      3. You're right, but that isn't how the Rosary works, so it really isn't anything an informed and honest person would bring up. A person who had thought this through, rather than came to make potshots, would also ask himself what makes a repetition vain, since we know that Jesus repeated Himself before He was crucified (Mark 14.32-39), and taught us one of the most oft-repeated prayers ever (the Our Father).
      4. You're right again, but as before, the Church does not teach that you can earn God's favor on your own. Why do people keep making these mistakes if they're actually know what they're talking about? You might want to start learning about the Church by studying the notion of condign merit, and then choose a Catholic source from what you find.
      5. You should have divided this into two items. But I'll take them:
      _You confess to God for your wrongdoing, not to a mere man._ So tell me what John 20.21-23 means. I can wait, but it seems the natural way of reading the text is that the apostles are doing the forgiving, and that Jesus gave them the authority to do so. In other words, these are not mere men, but act in the person of Christ.
      _And if you offend someone, then, ask their forgiveness which is accounted to you by God._ How does this contradict the Church's teachings?
      You would know why your objections weren't worth your effort if you actually were in a position to critique the Church.

      Grace and Rust 1. The Holy Spirit is given to anyone who TRULY believed, followed and obeyed the LORD JESUS CHRIST. Your pope don't have exclusivity of the Holy Spirit. Even Apostle Peter says that everyone is a priest of God.
      2. If my prayer for you makes me a mediator. But my prayer cannot save you. Then, you have a wrong idea with the word "MEDIATOR".
      I can say you are TRULY BRIANWASHED. It's better for the Holy Spirit who revealed Himself to the atheists, muslims, Buddhists and others who get downloaded with the right gospel.
      Two kinds of people I notice:
      1. How Roman Catholic had change me, TRADITION of MEN infusion.
      2. How Christ had change me. HOLY SPIRIT infusion
      You are the first. It's easy to discern who really are trully followers of CHRIST JESUS.

    • @paradoxo9111
      @paradoxo9111 6 років тому +30

      @abukid
      1. Yes, I know the Holy Spirit is with all "true believers," but nothing in what I said assumes that the Pope is the only person who has the Holy Spirit. I dare say you *know* that you're being dishonest in attributing that to me in the first place. Remember that Saint Paul said that different people in the Church have different gifts. They therefore have different duties in the Church, and all of these gifts are from the same Spirit. You've said nothing at this point to refute the charism of infallibility, except for pretending that it somehow puts the Pope on a par with Jesus Christ.
      I also know that according to Pope Saint Peter, every Christian is a priest. However, if you actually knew the Bible, you would realize that your objection also grounded the disastrous rebellion of Korah, in which thousands of Israelites died. He and his followers objected that they should also be able to perform the duties God assigned to Aaron and his sons, on the ground that all Israelites were priests. The flaw in their reasoning, and yours, is to fail to distinguish between different ranks of priesthood.
      2. No, the innocuous sense I gave for "mediator" is fairly routine. Otherwise all of the other Protestants I've spoken to would have done just what you did after I pointed out their equivocation. Instead, they drop the assertion immediately. You have absolutely no right to claim that I have _a wrong idea with the word "MEDIATOR."_ Or are you the Pope of the English language?
      Besides, your objection only sticks if *you* use that sense of mediator, and then complain when we accept it. Otherwise, you're engaging in a straw man since I already pointed out that the sense of "mediator" you seem to apply to the Catholic treatment on the saints isn't the one we adhere to to begin with.
      So, do you have anything to say about those other objections I answered? Perhaps you could define what makes a repetition "vain," and we could talk about that? Or maybe you wish to object to condign merit? I'm free for about three more hours.
      Calling me brainwashed just shows that you have nothing else to throw. But I ought to expect this, since you clearly have no qualms about presuming to know what the souls of complete strangers are like. You made that plain when you talked about "babbling" Rosaries. What, did you assume that I grew up in the Church of Rome? I grew up primarily in the Salvation Army, and later I was with the Nazarenes. In other words, my background was thoroughly Methodist. And in fact, I've only been a member of the Catholic Church for less than a year.

      Ali-Marie Ingram ... Clarification: I was terribly imprecise. My wife is on the journey to the Catholic Church. Our son (25) entered the Catholic Church in 2016. His sister (40) remains a Protestant. It is my siblings who are a bit flummoxed by it all. My older brother died in a trucking accident two years ago. He was apoplectic with my conversion, and attacked regularly. My two younger brothers and our sister, who are spread across the US, rarely bring it up.

      G W That has to be difficult. I was blessed to begin my journey at a Catholic Diocese in Louisiana with a strong RCIA program and a committed crew of volunteers. At a point in the process, I was even given one-on-one instruction. Three months before I was received into the Church, employment took me to Minnesota and a parish that was closer to what you have experienced. Nevertheless, the Easter Vigil I was received into the Church was wonderful, and I hope the same for you. My prayer is that you will be provided a spiritual director who helps you enter the Catholic Church. Amen

    Ali-Marie, welcome to Roman Catholic Church. Greetings from another convert, first ever in my family:). It took me years to do it, as I fell in love with Catholicism as a teenager, but given my family's strong opposition to it, I waited a long time to do it. I received virtually no support from family, a very little support from friends, but I can tell you one thing: Once I became Catholic, I never looked back! It is by far the greatest thing I did for myself and I feel united with Christ fully and completely. I can with all certainty say, I would give up my life before leaving my Catholic faith.

      Bin Sam the saints were all believers who had received their free gift of forgiveness and salvation and Paradise. All the letters are written to the saints in Ephesus,to the saints in Corinth . You are either saved or still lost. You are either a saint or you ain’t. You are either in Christ or still in the Adams family. You are either in the kingdom of darkness or brought into Jesus kingdom of light. Jesus came to save us or snatch us from darkness to light. Colossians 1:13. Jesus said Come to me all you who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest Matthew 11:28 I hope you have no objections coming to Jesus. It is appointed unto man once to die and after that the judgment Hebrews 9:27. In God’s word we only pray to God Only as he is omnipresent. Jesus is the way,the truth and the life John 14:6. Call on Jesus directly and have eternal life and Paradise as free gift. Then be baptized as baptized always followed believing in Jesus

      Ali-Marie Ingram thats what we’re struggling with. Which saint to choose!? Lol. We’re so new to this that we don’t know that many saints well and for me personally im stuck. I’ve always loved St. Mary Magdalene (brave, faithful, friend of Jesus, apostle to the apostles, and very acquainted with spiritual suffering), St. Michael (my professional career and vocation), and recently St. Ignatius of Loyola’s story has really resonated with me (prideful, deep personal conversion and struggled with scrupulosity). Im just clueless here. Any advice for me and my wife?

    • @alimariehere
      @alimariehere  6 років тому +4

      If you have a particular passion, look up who the patron saint of it is! If your passion is to end abortion, then you could choose St. Gianna Beretta Molla! Your confirmation Saint is one that is one that you’ll grow with through your walk! (And all the other saints too, of course, but they’re you’re “first friend.”) I hope that’s helpful :) Just search “Patron saint of..” and it should give you the answer! God bless you in your journey! 🐊

      Marcus Cicero you would be better off accepting your free gift of forgiveness and salvation by calling on Jesus as the thief next to Jesus Luke 23:34-44. No church saves but Jesus alone. Paul persecuted the believers who were calling on the lord Jesus and he met Jesus and called on Jesus and was saved for all eternity Acts 9:14-21. Acts 4:12. Call on Jesus right now and see the miracle of salvation taking place

      Mother Teresa of Calcutta said it's never too late to do something for God. Just keep on growing your faith with Christ. Trust Him. Just keep on looking on the Divine Mercy image when you lose hope for the conversion of a loved one. Keep on praying for conversion of our lost brethren and sinners. As long as there's pulse. There's hope.

      I didn't really have one! The deacon (who was the RCIA teacher as well as our sponsor) never told us to pick one. Long story short, during the confirmation when asked if we had one the Deacon said "no" and we said "yes". lol
      Because we didn't really know of the saints yet we sort of picked one just to say in case it was asked---which it was. Lol. I said St. Elizabeth of Hungary. I chose her because she fed the poor and did not have vain attachments to material items. You?

      I Must say it hasn't been a smooth return, my wife is soooo against my return.We do have some challenging discussions at a time none of which I bring up I have learned never to bring up anything Catholic, my wife does that. I have been back for 7 years or so and still, I have to walk around landmines especially when I go to Mass. I was away from the Church for 40 years involved with the prosperity message that is a story to tell for sure. I don't know how many multi-million dollar bizjets I help buy along with rock star type houses for the preachers. But I'm away from all that my wife is still hanging on to that teaching and she still believes that someday her ship will come in. However, I am relearning the Catholic faith and enjoying every step of the way. I have downloaded so many apps on my phone it's to the point of overload. Anyway, welcome home to all the UA-cam fans that have come home to the Catholic Church or making the Journey Home.

      Amen. My mom is Catholic and my dad is Protestant, but he goes to mass with her and everything... He doesn’t have a home non-Catholic church at all, so he’s sorta Catholic? Just not confirmed or receives the Eucharist... Something about not liking having to join the “good ole boys” club 🧐 But we’ll see. Love is the #1 thing we can give and by continuing to love, we continue to demonstrate how God is working through us

    My grandparents were Buddhist and converted. My uncle became a priest but I myself I left the church as a rebellious kid yrs later visiting a church with my friend I saw the miraculous statue of Our Lady of Fatima. That started my return to the faith, he gave me a book called true devotion to Mary by Saint Louis De Montfort that changed my life. That's one book the miserable serpent does not want people to read, and he puts obstacles in my path. Any way thanks for sharing your story that was a brief version of mine.

    God bless you. Your body language says so much about you, one can truly see the glory of God reflecting off of you. I identify with you on so many things one of which is the all or nothing attitude. Just recently a much younger person than myself suggested that I look into becoming totally consecrated to Mary. She gave me a book titled “ 33 Days to Morning Glory “ and of January first 2018 I became totally consecrated to Mary Mother of God. This has changed my prayer life to a marvelous new height. My wife of 43 years passed away four and one half years ago and I needed to hand over all of my anxiety, prayers, works, joys’ and sufferings to Jesus through the immaculate heart of Mary. In the book mentioned earlier on page 114 on the bottom of the page is a beautiful chart listing Mary’s Duties and My Duties. I read them every day and truly understand that there is nothing more to worry about. It’s all or nothing. I thank you for all of your efforts and look forward to hearing everything you say. I will keep you in my prayers and pray for me as well. It is so refreshing to see people like you in this world.

      ORIENTAL PROLIFIC HYMNS The Catholic Church Is A Big Hoax!
      WARNING!!!
      "I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." -Isaiah 42:8
      There is NO bigger HOAX on planet earth than the Roman Catholic Church! Oh how I wish I could get people to wake up to the truth. I don't even call the Roman Catholic organization a "church"...it is a RELIGION of manmade traditions and lies of the devil. It certainly is NOT a Biblical New Testament church. Let me clarify right from the very start that I do NOT hate anyone.
      I love the Pope and all Catholics just as I do all people (I really do). I love them with God's love. I love them enough to risk being unpopular by telling them the truth of God's Word. Though I may not like someone, I am still commanded in the Bible to love them. I have no intentions to be unkind to anyone, I simply want to preach the TRUTH of God's Word.
      Undoubtedly, many people will be offended because the truth always offends those who are living in sin and darkness. Just as Jesus Christ my Saviour, I am more willing to be divided over truth than to be united by error.
      I cannot compromise because the Bible does not compromise. God said what He meant and meant what He said. Many of the foundational doctrines of Roman Catholicism are NOT found anywhere in the Bible. It is evil to reject the plain teachings of Scripture in exchange for the traditions of men.
      God will NOT share His glory with another (Isaiah 42:8). In Exodus 20:3-5 we read that God is a jealous God, so jealous that we are commanded NOT to even BOW to a statue or image.
      "Thou shalt have no other gods before me. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God" -Exodus 20:3
      God is more jealous than any husband or wife could ever be. It is a dangerous thing to commit idolatry. It is a sin to bow to any saint. Roman Catholicism twists the Bible, actually condoning the idolatrous glorifying of dead people (saints). It is a sin to pray to anyone or anything in an attempt to influence God. There is ONLY One Mediator between God and men--The Lord Jesus Christ.
      "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" -1st Timothy 2:5 👉 the ONLY Way to God the Father is through God the Son. John 14:6 declares...
      "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
      To pray or even bow to any statue, image or crucifix is wicked sin. Jesus NEVER even once asked anyone to create an image of Him dying on a cross. The Catholic Church is infested with idols, crucifixes and superstitions.
      It is wicked to pray or even BOW to "Mother Mary." Pope John Paul II is committing idolatry in the image to the left. Mary is NOT my mother, and she's NOT your mother either. Mary is NOT the "Queen of Heaven." Mary is NOT the mother of the church. Mary was just a godly woman chosen by God the Father to be the earthly mother of Jesus Christ, God incarnate. In heaven, Mary is no more special than any other godly woman who fears and loves God. It is wicked to teach that Mary was anything more than a godly woman.
      John the Baptist was called the greatest man born amongst men (Mathew 11:11), yet Jesus said that he that is LEAST in the kingdom of heaven is greater than John. The same is true with Mary or anyone else. If it were not for God's merciful grace, we would all be hopelessly bound for hell damnation (and that includes Mary).
      By the way, the teaching of Catholics that Mary was born without any "original sin" is absurd, she was born with a sinful nature just like any other human being. The Bible does NOT teach any nonsense about an "Immaculate Conception" or anything about "original sin." The word "original" is not even found in the Bible.
      To Hail Mary is to Hail Satan! Mary is NOT a co-redeemer with Jesus.
      Can The Catholics Ever Make Up Their Minds?
      The Catholic crowd likes to do the same thing as the Wiccan witches do...claim that all Christians are ignorant of history. How convenient that so many heathen groups can claim legitimacy and trustworthiness based upon ambiguous history. If anything, history reveals that the Catholic religion is composed today of a series of invented heresies from over the centuries.
      What will be the next invention? The Roman Church says it never changes; yet, it has done nothing else but invent new doctrines which are contrary to the Bible, and has practiced rites and ceremonies taken bodily from paganism. Some scholar has found that 75% of the rites and ceremonies of the Roman Church are of pagan origin.
      Note:-- Cardinal Newman, in his book, "The Development of the Christian Religion," admits that ... "Temples, incense, oil lamps, votive offerings, holy water, holidays and season of devotions, processions, blessing of fields, sacerdotal vestments, the tonsure (of priests and monks and nuns), images ... are all of pagan origin..." (Page 359).
      HERESIES are those doctrines and practices which are contrary to the Bible. They are also called "human traditions" or "doctrines of men". Both Peter and Paul predicted and warned that in the later times "false teachers" would rise within the Church and bring in "damnable heresies" and "doctrines of devils". (Read II Peter 2:1-3, and I Tim. 3:2-5). Jesus rebuked the Pharisees, for they transgressed the commandments of God by keeping their traditions. "in vain," He said, "they worship me by keeping for doctrines the commandments of men" (Matt. 15:3,9).
      The real heretics therefore, are the Roman Catholics and the true orthodox are the Evangelical Christians.
      BRETHREN! The Word of God commands us to get out of Babylon, saying: "Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues." (Rev. 18:4). All true Christians will remain faithful to the religion of Christ as taught in the Bible, and heed the warning of the Apostle Paul, who said: "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other Gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed."(Gal. 1:8).
      Roman Catholicism openly admits that many of their doctrines did NOT originate from the Bible, but from the church itself. It is blasphemy to recognize the writings of the church fathers as inspired by God. For example, in 1834, the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary was proclaimed by Pope Pius IX. The Bible states that all men, with the sole exception of Christ, are sinners.
      Mary herself had need of a Saviour (Romans 3:23; 5:12; Psalm 51:5; Luke 1:30,46,47). In 1439, the doctrine of Purgatory was proclaimed as a dogma of faith by Council of Florence. The Bible says that Christ instituted only two ordinances, Baptism and the Lord's Supper (Matthew 28:19-20; 26:26-28). Read more!
      The Catholic heresy of the "Assumption of Mary" isn't found in the Bible or even in their own magisterium.
      Roman Catholics Reject the Commandments of God
      Matthew 23:9 forbids calling any man "Father" in the sense of reverence... 👉 "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven." -Matthew 23:9
      👉 Catholics disobey the Bible by calling the priest "Father." Only God is to be reverenced by such a title. The Pope is NOT the "vicar" of God, but is rather a false prophet of Satan.
      👉 1st Timothy 4:1-3 warns...
      "Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."
      Are Catholics blind? Or perhaps Catholics just don't read the Bible. 1st Timothy 4:1-3 clearly WARNS us about cults that forbid people to eat meat (every Friday for Catholics) or get married (Catholic celibacy laws that forbid priests from getting married).
      I recently listened to a Catholic priest on TV speaking to his parish. He told the people that the best way to know what's right on all matters of faith and morals is to just "listen to the Pope." What a contrast to the teachings of the Word of God. The Bible declares...
      👉 "...let God be true, but every man a liar..." -Romans 3:4
      👉 Peter Was NOT The Rock Upon Which the Church is Built
      The Catholic religion teaches that Jesus chose the Apostle Peter as the "rock" upon which Christ would build the Church. Matthew 16:18 reads "And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." A simple cross reference of Matthew 16:18 with 1st Peter 2:7 reveals the true context, "Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner."

    • @jesussaves744
      @jesussaves744 6 років тому +2

      ORIENTAL PROLIFIC HYMNS Continued - 👉 JESUS is the cornerstone upon which the Church is built. Even today, architects and builders realize that to build ANY structure, you MUST have a very accurate starting point upon which everything else can be built. Jesus is that Precious and Perfect cornerstone upon which everything in the Christian life is based. Surely, a flawed sinful man such as Peter could NOT have been the cornerstone of the church.
      In Matthew 16:23, just five verses after Jesus spoke of the "rock," he called Peter "Satan." There's no way Jesus was referring to Peter as the "rock" in Matthew 16:18. Jesus Christ is the ONLY Rock upon which the Church is built..."For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (1st Corinthians 3:11).
      Rosary From Hell 🔥
      The Catholics teach that the rosary should be performed every day. I'd like to have ANYONE show me that from the Bible. Where did God tell us to perform a rosary? The Rosary, or prayer beads, was introduced by Peter the Hermit, in the year 1090...copied from Hindus and Mohammedans. The counting of prayers is a pagan practice and is expressly condemned by Christ (Matthew 6:5-13). The rosary should NEVER be performed by anyone, it is sinful. Jesus condemned chants and recited prayers...
      👉 "But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking." -Matthew 6:7
      I listened to a bunch of nuns chanting today on the EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network) cable channel. It's a cable channel just for Catholics, also used to brainwash children with Catholic heresies. Those nuns in their penguin outfits looked so silly. It was all vain repetitions. They were just moaning, repeating the words of the head nun (the kind of nun that looked like she'd hit you with a ruler). It was so dead and formal, no life and joy of the Lord. I couldn't help but feel sorry for those blinded people, carrying heavy religious burdens, grievous to be borne...
      "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers." -Matthew 23:4
      Jesus offers restful salvation to anyone who will receive it. Salvation is simple. God doesn't require us to perform sacraments or give our lives to the Catholic Church. Jesus said that the kingdom of heaven is within our hearts, not in temples or extravagant buildings made by men. God is a Spirit and they that worship Him MUST worship Him in Spirit and in TRUTH (John 4:24). You CANNOT worship God in heresy or tradition.
      Jesus offers us rest from the heavy burdens placed upon us by the religions of mankind. Religion is a sure road to hell, ONLY through Christ Jesus can anyone be forgiven and their name written in heaven ❤
      "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." -Matthew 11:28 ❤
      Salvation is found in Christ alone --NOT by baptism, NOT by the sacraments, NOT by church membership, NOT by good works, NOT by praying the rosary, NOT by sacrificing, NOT by religion, NOT by mass, NOT by the Pope, NOT by the priest...ONLY by Jesus Christ.
      THE Fiction of Fatima (the Hoax of Our Lady of Fatima)
      Devotion to Mary is Unscriptural
      The following excellent article was written by a former devout Roman Catholic (Tony Capoccia) concerning the unscriptural following of Mary:
      "No one who has carefully examined the events of and surrounding Fatima could possibly share your opinion of the Blessed Mother.
      I was a Catholic for 34 years. I was a great devoted follower of Mary. But after I became a Christian, I went to four years of seminary and made it a point to carefully study the doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church. I compared their doctrines to the truths of the Bible, and they (the Catholic Church) are without a doubt full of false doctrines, and therefore a false religion.
      Mary was a wonderful person, and blessed, but she, like every other human was a sinner, before and after the birth of Christ. So was Joseph, and the Apostles. The Bible says "all" have sinned, there is not one who does good, no not one! Mary was a sinner and needed a Savior. The lie of the Catholic doctrine of the Immaculate Conception, is that Mary (just like Jesus) was born without sin. But this is a direct contradiction to the Bible.
      The Catholic Church also claims that Mary, was a perpetual virgin all of her life. Yet the Bible says this is simply not true, for Mary was a virgin until Jesus was born, and then had normal sexual relations with her husband Joseph, and had other children, see Matthew 1:23-25:
      "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" - which means, "God with us." When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. But he had no union with her "until" she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus. [Matthew 1:23-25]
      The Catholic Church dishonors Mary by giving her honor God never intended.
      There was an incident when Jesus' mother and "brothers" (Mary's children), went to get Jesus: "When his family heard about this, they went to take charge of him, for they said, "He is out of his mind." [Mark 3:21]
      "Someone told Jesus, 'Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.' He replied to him, 'Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?' Pointing to his disciples, Jesus said, 'Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.'" [Matthew 12:47-50]
      The point Jesus was making is that Mary, his earthly mother, had no special position or honor over any other Christian who does God's will. Mary is blessed, as was the Apostles, they were used by God in a special way, but she was never to be worshipped and elevated as the Catholics do--this is a dishonor to her and to Christ. Mary is in heaven and doesn't have clue what we are doing here and could care less, she is focused on Jesus her Lord and Savior. The prayers of Catholics to Mary and the other saints are an abomination and a stench in the nostrils of God, for, "there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." [1 Timothy 2:5]
      See that, only one mediator! Mary is not a mediator, she can't hear us nor intervene in any way.
      You are caught up in a great deception, and will someday pay a tremendous price of eternal suffering in the Lake of Fire unless you bow down to Jesus, and Jesus alone, repenting of your sins, confessing belief in who Jesus claimed to be: God, the "ONLY" mediator, the only way of salvation, and then submitting to His Word and will.
      Also, Fatima is a lie straight from the pit. Satan stages false healings, or removes his crippling effects at the right time to give "Our Lady of Fatima" the credit, in order to keep the people duped. It is like a bunch of pagans bowing down and praying to a rock. If the rock never answered a prayer, then in time they would throw the rock away, but if "once in a while" the rock would do something for them, then they will keep praying to the rock. Fatima is the Catholic rock, a plaster statue, that Satan uses once in a while to fake a healing to keep the Catholics deceived and it seems to be working." -Tony Capoccia (former devout Roman Catholic for 34 years).

      My dad is the type that microanalyses every detail about everything. He was formally a Presbyterian, but became disillusioned at the direction the church was headed (way of the world). That and if you logically think about it, there are countless denominations within Protestantism, all claiming to correctly interpret the Bible. Lastly, and most importantly, The Roman Catholic Church can be directly traced back to Jesus and his disciples.

    Thank you! I love hearing conversion stories, because they paint such a vivid picture of how grace works in all the concreteness and messiness of people's lives, and they're all unique. It's also partly because I have a complicated religious history myself, as someone who was raised Catholic, left as a (semi-rebellious!) teen, became a committed Christian through evangelicalism, and finally returned to Catholicism a few years ago after I gradually realized the fullness of truth in it. For me, there were so many steps AND dead ends along the way, and it's such an occasion for praise and thankfulness to look back and see how God was using everything (even my mistakes and screwups) to lead me ever more fully to him, and still is. And it's awesome to hear an account like yours, as you share here and in previous videos you've made, and to get a sense for how God has worked through everything that makes you uniquely you...and has made you even MORE "you," the fullest, truest version of you, by bringing you into this great communion of the Church (if that makes any sense at all!) So I thank God for working in you in such a powerful way, as the powerful witness you are in pointing towards the continual conversion to which we're all called (and, I'm sure, as a sower of many seeds that are leading people into communion with Christ and the Church in the first place!) :)

      Peter G. Thank you for that feedback, Peter!! During your rebellious phase, would you say were more “atheist” or “agnostic”? I feel like my husband (who was raised Catholic too) went more atheist than agnostic during his fallen away years and I’m curious about yours!

    • @Peter-GG
      @Peter-GG 6 років тому +1

      In my case, it was more agnostic. When I was 14 or 15 I started really pursuing ultimate questions of meaning, and for a while I'd have definitely said I was "spiritual" or "philosophical" but not religious. The way my rebelliousness manifested itself was my convincing myself that I had to *independently, autonomously* find truth, and couldn't put any stock in what my parents or any traditional authorities believed. So it was definitely humbling to eventually (and very slowly!) find my way back to the Church and realize I had turned my back on the richness of truth that was there all along. Admittedly, I hadn't been catechized very well when I was growing up -- one thing my experience has given me is lots of ideas for communicating the faith to my (God willing) future kids, so that they can turn to it even in those heady teenage years. :)

      Peter G. The church does recognize the poor doctrinal vocation in the 70’s-80’s. Something about people being scolded for asking questions. I’m SO glad that has shifted and our learning system has improved SO vastly! I definitely was more agnostic when I fell away too. I’m glad you found your way back home :)

      Wilson Eusebio777 The Catholic Church Is A Big Hoax!

      @jesussaves744 6 років тому

      Wilson Eusebio777 Continued - 👉 JESUS is the cornerstone upon which the Church is built.

    Ali-Marie, God Bless You! Thanks for this video; just now seeing it. This is the first I’ve seen of your work and look forward to seeing more!
    I’m a convert too, and I love conversion (and reversion) stories. Seems to me that every story is unique. But I think the reason so many people love these stories is that there is always at least some point(s) of universal commonality. At some level we all share at least a few common motivations, influences, and/or experiences.
    FYI: This is probably all stuff you know, but Marcus Grodi and his “Coming Home Network” feature these stories. Also, as a former Reformed, you might enjoy the writings of Dr. Dave Anders. He also hosts a great (IMO) radio show, “Called to Communion.”
    BTW, I love “LizziesAnswers”, Even though she’s younger than most of my kids! I found her videos by accident almost a year ago, and even then you could see where she was headed, even though she fought against it!

    I became Catholic when I was 16 years old. It was my mother who introduced the rest of the family into Catholicism.
    My initial though was; _"I have no idea if the bible is true or not but hey, what have I got to lose?_ _I will get baptised and meet some new people at the community, besides, if it happens to be true, I will go to heaven!"_ _It could be the Greatest Life insurance policy that is even free!_ Win, Win situation!"
    And,
    It Took me well over 30 years to understand the truth of Jesus and Catholicism. It was a step by step process as certain part of bible could be more easily understood when you are older with better understanding of what we are.
    This reminds me that I have never thanked my mother for taking us to the light. I will do that soon....

Long story short, I have realized that I feel like a loner when I only read the Bible and I am not catholic-wise. When I read the Bible and pray the rosary and have my heavenly mom & some Saints if I want, as my advocate and mentor to have me near Jesuschrist, I feel happy and awesome. I am a cradle Catholic from Michigan, around Ann Arbor. However, like many, I questioned everything, including God's existence. But, once I was convinced by Aquinas/Aristotle's philosophical proofs for the existence of God. From there, it was just a matter of winnowing the chaff from the wheat. And, to no one's surprise, there was only one, catholic and apostolic church that fit the glass slipper...the Catholic Church...saints and sinners...ignoble and noble history...there it was. At that moment, there was no denying Christ my life, He was and is the ONLY path to heaven! Please keep up your great insights, your struggles and your victories. Not everyone can do what you do. In fact, MOST can't. But, you are willing to be open so that others may be inspired to take the plunge and LIVE FOREVER WITH HIM! God bless you!

      Well, keep going, I truly believe that the lay Catholic will lead the Church out of this modernist "wilderness" we are in. My Michigan days are over, now, but I still have a big family in Michigan and look back fondly on them, but then marriage and job took me to Florida. I honestly do not think I could re-adapt to Michigan winters at this point. Anyway, keep making your videos, my wife and I love them. Looking forward to your new installments. God bless you!

    • @alimariehere
      @alimariehere  6 років тому

      Thanks!! Are you a cradle Catholic?? It’s SO interesting to me that conversions go both ways... some people convert to Catholicism, and others from Catholicism to Protestantism... I typically hear that the conversion to Protestantism is because it’s easier though.

  • @CaptainCharismo
    @CaptainCharismo 6 років тому +28

    The reason for interest in your conversion: I've witnessed so much Protestant (born-again ... Southern Baptist) hatred for Catholicism, that such a conversion story is startling.

    • @alimariehere
      @alimariehere  6 років тому +13

      It is interesting the amount of misconceptions that are out there, for sure! Some of the strongest converts (I.e. Tim Staples & Scott Hahn) were actually anti-Catholic pastors who had gone to seminary for years! They knew the Bible backwards and forwards, but then once they attended mass, they started seeing questions they couldn’t answer... The strongest Protestants make the strongest Catholics!

    • @TomLandry1
      @TomLandry1 6 років тому +5

      tony - God Bless You! Rather than debate the sad misconceptions in your link, I’d encourage you to prayerfully seek the truth! Read the history of Christianity and of the early Church, not the Protest-ant version of history, but the actual history. And read the Early Church Fathers, but again, not Protest-ant commentaries on them, but the actual source documents. They are easy to find. And they might surprise you!
      God Bless You!

    • @TomLandry1
      @TomLandry1 6 років тому +6

      Tony, God Bless you, Brother! Forgive me if I chuckle - LOUDLY - at your posts. Friend, I used to believe the same misguided distortions, half-truths, and outright myths. Then I got serious about my Faith - did the research for myself (instead of just accepting what others told me) - I read the original sources - studied the history - actually looked to see what each sect REALLY believes (Not just what their opponents CLAIM they believe).
      That's why I'm a Catholic today.
      Please DO pray for me! I'm a sinner and sorely in need of prayer! I pray for you, and all our separated brethren, every single day.
      God Love You!

    • @TomLandry1
      @TomLandry1 6 років тому +2

      Tony - Thank you! And hey, help me understand something, ok?
      You say, "see, the Bible is direct and for one to be deceived - they would have to take 'info' from outside of the Bible in order to justify their running from Truth."
      So that sounds a lot like "Sola Scriptura" to me, am I right? Are you maintaining that ALL Christian doctrine MUST come ONLY from the Bible?

    • @TomLandry1
      @TomLandry1 6 років тому +5

      Hmm... So you won't stand for the proposition of Sola Scriptura.... Well, I can understand why - its not a Biblical principle, but a man-made heresy invented in the 16th century.
      But you say its "the safe way" - but how can I know what interpretation of the Bible is the correct one? Can every individual Christian decide on his/her OWN version of "truth" - is truth purely relative? OR is there only ONE Truth - God's Truth?
      You claim above that the Bible is "plain" in its meaning - yet you post a list of some 10? clear misunderstandings - flatly wrong interpretations of the Bible (and/or flatly wrong mis-statements of Catholic teaching).
      In fact, isn't this just the very scandal that utterly disproves Protest-ant-ism? That the Bible is Anything BUT clear and easily understood?
      Surely you can't possible deny the plain fact that there are Tens of Thousands of different Non-Catholic, Non-Apostolic sects, each finding DIFFERENT "plain meaning" in the Bible, each disagreeing with some (or ALL) other Protest-ant sects on some (or many) different "plain meanings" of Biblical doctrine? Or do you deny this fact?

    Welcome sister A,m a cradle catholc who got off truck in my teenage shortly, but the weaknesses later helped me to repent and I bcm a truly practicing catholc embraced all sacraments and I bcm full filled as I stated feeling the power of the holy Spirit in me everything changed.
    I feel sad when members leave their faith bcz u know it's bcz they are not fully instructed in the faith, and also bcz some don't care reading the scriptures so when the get Protestants arguments, they are unavailable to defend their faith.Bt the first thing I did after repentance, I started reading the Bible and saying the Rosary seriously I never wanted to listen to anything anti chrstn . This opened my eyes to find all answers by the help of the holy Spirit concerning, infants baptism, celibacy, penance to the priest, purgatory, Eucarist, Confirmation, Saints,, shortly I got aclear understanding of it.
    Infact it saddens me to find a Protestant telling CATHOLICS R not Born agn yet according to the bble definition we are born again by baptism that opens doors to other grace that lead to salvation and besides salvation can b attained by keeping our baptism promises , carrying our daily challenges as we follow chrst to the end(love for Christ is nt just for a day) I love the holy Spirit is a great teacher he reveals hidden secrets of slvn mysteriously.
    And sister I can sense the presence of God's spirit by your beautiful smile Groly to Jesus.

    Years of my own indoctrination in evangelical Protestantism falls away in the light of real historical research, and actually being fair enough to seek to understand Catholic doctrine within its own framework and definitions and yields.....the FACT that Catholicism IS Christian. [Protestants usually read Catholic theology through Protestant frameworks and definitions, so it appears anti-biblical to them.] It also brings the realization that Luther, Calvin, Zwingli, et al were not exactly fair minded, or even-handed when reading the Church fathers. They were "cherry picking" to make their positions appear correct. And when that didn't work, they would disputed the correctness of the witness of the early church fathers, and councils. Truth appears to be with Catholicism and Orthodoxy, NOT any of various Protestantisms (which, ironically, oppose each other, and sometimes killed each other).
    Moreover, Evangelicals will condemn Catholics as being "to far" on issues of Mary, the Eucharist, etc, etc. BUT THEY WILL NOT CONDEMN PROTESTANT SECTS as being "to far" for holding the same or similar positions! No! They all celebrated the anniversary of the "Reformation," and hailed Luther for getting it all started! But they haven't called him an heretic for praying to Mary, believing she was immaculately conceived, holding Christ to be (consubstantially) present in the Eucharist, venerating the Eucharist, believing Christian baptism is salvific, or still not being sure the Book of Revelation should be in the canon of scripture, even at the end of his life. This hypocrisy provides cover for a (fake) vernier of unity in Protestantism. Some even (the PCUSA) even try to get chummy with Orthodox churches. Because, being "Protestant" is really all about being anti-Catholic, instead of their own interpretations of scripture. It's about being true to their denominations, not true to history.

      Protestants cannot survive historical research. Either they become conscious liars and historical manipulators or convert to Catholicism. There are no other realities.

    I'm very happy for you. I was saved in 1991 and was a Charismatic Christian non denominational. I had a miraculous conversion to Catholicism in 2013 though I had attended Catholic Church prior to this and as a child with my maternal grandmother who was Catholic. I am currently the only Catholic in my family. All three of my children are baptized but have not accepted the faith as adults. One of my siblings and her children are Jehovah's Witnesses the remainder of my family are agnostic or atheist. This makes my walk a little more challenging because I have no faith support from my family so I am very happy that your family is there for you and supportive.
