oh my god. this is exactly what it's like to be a non drinker. exactly! first they ask about alcoholism, then they say that they won't drink in solidarity, then they act like I think I'm better than them! I just don't drink!! Leave me alone!!!
It makes a lot of people feel tired/bad. I remember this happening at a certain stage in my life. Some Asian folks also get flushing and it makes them uncomfortable. Drugs affect everyone differently.
@@dogchaser520 yeah unfortunately it makes me feel sick if i have more than one small drink. :( I used to drink a lot and had no problem except for maybe feeling a little hungover, but now i'll start to feel totally ill after two drinks. maybe i need to drink more to slowly increase my tolerance, i dunno
@@pandapower5902 lol, not trying to burst your bubble, but we lose our ability to metabolize it as we age. I used to be able to do 5-7 pints of Long Island Iced Tea. Now, a second glass of wine means I shouldn't drive
I just think alcohol tastes gross! I'll take the cran and soda :)
I rarely drink and I avoid any discussion by clever subterfuge: get there early, tell the bartender to make mine non-alcoholic no matter what is ordered by my table or who buys the round. Give them a $20 up front and they can charge full price for mine anyway.
This is absolutely what it’s like to be the only friend not drinking! 😅
Oh my, so true! I'm dying!
Uuuuuugh worst.
Too true!!👏👏👏👍👍
It’s the „I‘m the funny one, she’s the model!“ for me. 😄
Yep…as a non drinker I can attest to the truth of this.
Yes me too
You need new friends. We never have any issues
Drinky McNoDrink. Lame.
“I’m the model!” 😆
That line gets to me so much 😂
I don’t drink and being pregnant has been a nice break from people asking me why I don’t!
ABC Solution: Always Be Conceiving
I don't drink. Never have & i can't tell you how many times this has happened to me. So much that now I arrive early & get a club soda with lime to shut people up....lmao
wow that is so sad. yikes
that's really smart. A club with lime.
ppl just want to bring others down if you don’t drink it’s like you’re a prude when alcohol is literally poison
Hysterical. She’s the funny one. I’m the model 🤣🤣
It's true that people who drink can't STAND IT when you don't drink. People get so defensive and think you're being judgemental, or they know deep down that they do rely on alcohol too much, but they tell themselves that EVERYONE DRINKS. Then you come along and you don't drink. At all. It destroys their illusion that EVERYONE drinks as much as they do, and it destroys all their rationalizations, so they get mad at you.
You really DO have to have a "reason", even if, like me, you just never got interested in drinking, and never wanted to be out of your own mind or acting the fool or throwing up or waking up with a hangover, and even the taste and feeling of alcohol simply has no appeal to you.
Sometimes I make up a reason because people get soooooo uncomfortable if you just say you don't drink. So I tell people it gives me a migraine, or that I'm on medication that prohibits me from drinking, etc.
I have a lot of friends who don't drink much, and they're not focusing their social life on it, and they're fine with me not drinking.
But those for whom alcohol is its own reward are deeply threatened.
I know a woman who works in drug and alcohol rehab. She comes home from a long workday and posts whatever cocktail she's drinking. It's downright weird!
Hold up now, so you don't DRINK???
Come on now Stacey, not even a glass of white white every now and then??
This is sooo real. I used to volunteer to be the designated driver of the group to avoid dinking. It's not that I hate alcohol or had a problem with it, I simply have such a weak tolerance that it takes only a half a glass of wine to get me drunk and then severely hung over the next day. It just isn't that fun for me, but it's fun dancing with friends and "herding cats" at the end of the night. Good times...BC (before covid)
I like weed better lol
Herding cats 😆😆😆😆
@@mandyg6265 don’t promote your drug.
Omg I so relate to the lady who doesn't drink. A usual question that accompanies why I don't drink is "is it because of religion?". Of course it has to be religion, especially since I'm brown, right? It can't somehow simply be because I hate the taste of alcohol. Apparently we're not allowed to hate alcohol for reasons that don't have to do with alcoholism, religion or being pregnant 🤣
Feel your pain
That's exactly why people think I don't drink - for religious reasons. UGH!😫 And there's never a reason good enough for them.
Aside from some Spumante, all alcohol tastes gross. I recently started having a few shots with friends on weekends but at 49yo, I have to accept they taste terrible and always will.
although people that come from religious backgrounds are also more likely to hate the taste though, because they weren't raised on it. I have friends who grew up drinking because drinking is actually part of their religion, so they grew up liking the taste and got used to it at a young age.
Wait, what does being black have to do with it? I’m not trying to be an asshole…genuinely curious/confused?
Where I live, being social involves drinking, talking shit about others, creating a bunch of drama, drinking some more and then going to church Sundays on your high horse. I don’t drink, I eat a healthy diet, I don’t gossip, I don’t do drama, and I’m pagan. So… I don’t have friends.
Nailed it👏🏻
Haha Meredith, "you're the funny one. I'm the model." 😆🤣☠👻
" I'm the model." LOL
I just got an ad for bacardi right before the vid started lol
I got a whiskey one 😂 targeted advertising!
"I noticed when you came in you had a bit of a smell" LMAO 😂
I felt this. I hate drinkers who push non-drinkers to drink.
Damn, I just discovered this show and it’s hilarious. I don’t drink anymore and this skit is SO on point.
If you don't have a drink at a party, show up with a bag of candy. 1000% cooler. What I did in college. Everyone loved it.
i dont know if i would rate that as 1000% cooler lol
@@pandapower5902 lol not in the slightest
Excellent diversionary tactic. 👍
Baroness von Sketch is god’s gift to humankind
100% TRUTH!!!!
Your skits are hilarious and disturbing in their accuracy!
Comedy at it's finest. I'm loving it.
As a vegan just living my life, ordering the food I feel good about, staying quiet about other people's choices in the restaurant, this happens ALL THE TIME.
it's so silly, it's just food but I know grown-ass adults that stick out their tongues and go "ewww" when you ask them to try something vegan.
I love this! I have never liked alcohol and have always wondered what people might think of that. It just makes me feel tired and starts to bore me because I can't think. Doesn't taste good enough to bother with and I actually feel like I get blasé from it. I'm a pretty upbeat person so I wonder if the alcohol just can't keep up with me lol
This is how I feel so often. No one drank much in my family, I've never drank much, not pregnant. But "why don't you drink?" Because a lot of it is gross, and I nearly chug my drinks, so I'd prefer my stomach be the limit, not the alcohol content or my wallet since alcohol is so much more expensive anyway.
"Marcus ? We're cancelling the fun !"
This is why I volunteer to DD often xD
omg as a Canadian in the UK I felt like this and I actually do drink, I just don't drink more than maybe 1-2 drinks in an evening.. it's such a part of socialising here, they don't understand turning down alcohol
Have you tried turning down coffee? I finally understood what Elizabeth went through in Keeping Up Appearances while I was on vacation in the UK. 😁😁😁
@@hannahreynolds7611 lmao really?
Wait til u try Australia mate
Hahaha, the drinks are like overkill
Love this show so much!
Urgh, I miss these crazy drinking Fridays. 😭 Damn you, Covid! ☹
HYSTERICAL
*I LITERALLY WENT THROUGH THIS WHEN I WAS 19 Y.O. I MET A GIRL WHO DIDN'T DRINK OR SMOKE AND IT HAD NEVER OCCURRED TO ME THAT THAT WAS AN OPTION OPEN TO ME.*
i dont drink alcohol, but, hey, i will drink marcus 😘😘😘😜😜😜
😯😂😂💖
Omg this is so spot on!
I must have the same friends! Lmao!
This was an amazing comedy lady quartet
Hahahaha women. We do always want to know why someone doesn't drink. "She's the funny one, I'm the model" 🤣
Not just women, basically all who drink, whatever the gender.
"Everyone," drinks and majority of those who do want to know why you don't and will generally assume why - most of the time out loud.
Sooo good!
I'm the reverse of this: I love meeting new people and giving the weird excuses why I don't drink.😜
examples? I could use some inspiration.
Wow! Its so on the mark!
i’M ThE MOdeL!!!
Spot on reactions!😄
Funny, I deal with this all the times. People ask "is it because of your religion"
People used to ask me that too back when I was Muslim. I just don't like the smell or the taste, and I don't see the point of it.
@@mewho6199 the point is to get drunk because it feels good. but its not healthy though.
My husband doesn't drink either. No special reason. He just doesn't like alcohol. I find that really very attractive!
yaaaaaay peer pressure!
seriously. maybe it's the former waitress thing, or the autism and having a lot of dietary restrictions thing, but if someone says they don't want something, don't serve them that thing. just don't. you don't even REALLY need to know why beyond "hey, is it dangerous in the event of cross-contamination?" like for allergies or autoimmune stuff.
So if someone at the counter cut avocados for sushi and then made a customer's order, and didn't totally scrub down the cutting boards and the knives in hot water and put down plastic wrap or tinfoil in case, and a customer had a latex allergy (that's also bananas, mangos, and avocados in some people!) he could suddenly have an epi-pen emergency. Sounds like a lot but I could clean a counter in less than five minutes and start his whole order.
Ultimately, it isn't my freaking business why someone doesn't want something. I don't care if you can't eat pork or have the virus from ticks that makes you have an allergy to beef. I don't care since it isn't my body. I care that I made my place safe for you. I care that you have options for basic food, water, and sanitation around me. People who wanna get all pushy and pressure someone to do stuff like this isn't someone you can trust anyways, so there's a litmus test for you. If you can't trust them on the little things, don't trust them on the big ones either.
I'll drink to that, cheers 🍻
Brilliant
God this is so accurate
Hahahahaahah! Love it!
Oh ladies 😂😂😂
You girls are so over the top! 😝😜😂🤣
I used to abstain from alcohol and I found that the most awkward situation I could get myself into was "partying" with drinkers. Why would a nondrinker even want to be in that situation?
This is just so me that’s why I don’t have friends anymore now in days is not normal to not like to drink alcohol 🤷♀️
As I got older people stopped caring luckily but in my early 20s people were obsessive about questions and always assumed i had to stop because I had a problem... but I just never got into it to begin with. Its weird what people assume. I'm glad I found people who don't even ask anymore at parties... everyone just drinks what they want and it's not even a thought. Oof i miss those parties. Live music and baked goods were more of the focus.
Well, well! Once again BvS understands and delivers! I once made a personal decision not to drink. No egregious reason. Just a decision, no more no less. Yet I went through all this nuttiness with both women AND men. The only thing is, after a couple of years of not drinking, when I finally decided to have a bottle of beer one night, the same stupid group of nonsense-makers were at it again, making a big flip out of my decision to HAVE a beer, with comments like: "Are you SURE?" "Are you OKAY?" "Is this WISE?" - and no, not even in a sarcastic way, but in a genuine way as if they decided that I must have been an alcoholic who is now falling off the wagon. Like, make up your stupid minds! LOL!
Ppl always feel entitled to question/scrutinize the decisions of others and it's disgusting
I also don't drink. :)
I do Dry January, but I am now renaming it Temperance McNofun January.
@1:43 yep this is my life
😂
So real; like I don't smoke crack or shoot up heroin, but after work all my coworkers do and I feel so awkward being the one who doesn't. Then after they all pass out I go through their wallets and head for home, so it all works out. Yay, Fridays!
I be like...it's Wednesday!!!!
Yes. That is accurate.
I 100% relate. I don’t drink because I don’t enjoy it
Who's the waiter? I need to know for.. science.
Right, Marcus 🥵
Lol
😄
Oh my goodness, when they all babble together it’s like a henhouse.
Lol just a 6 once, right ,😅
And you're pretty.... That counts 😅
Spain in a sketch.
should've just gone with "I have a UTI" and left it at that...
this is me. i always give in to peer pressure tho...drinking just doesn’t affect me the right way. or i just don’t like the effects.
This was me. I'm mostly just trying to say fuck it to the peer pressure now. Alcohol just does not affect me well and I'm tired of wasting time recovering from just a drink or two when I only ever drank it just to get along.
Absolutely totally can relate with the "non-drinker" 🙋♀️🙋♀️👉🙋♀️👈🙍🙎im "THAT" person. I just never enjoyed it! Im allergic to sulfa drugs so that translates into "I can't drink wine" I get sick and am hung over for 3 days! Gin i can tolerate but don't drink juice 🤷♀️🤔🤦🏼♀️🙍 grapefruit and gin is tasty but my ulcer does not like THAT! Tequila 🤷♀️ how do you make a "Lite" margarita? No bartender is gonna slow down to make a "baby-step" margarita 🙄😔😳😕 so I always volunteer to be the DD(designated driver/dungeon master 🤷♀️) doesn't bother me not to drink, everybody still has fun and i enjoy unlimited black coffee!! 💗🥰 Win-win 👏👏👍
Nothing wrong with a nice cup of coffee!
This was weird. Some people just don’t drink. I love wine and I had a former boyfriend and my husband who both, they just don’t really care for neither the taste nor the effects of alcohol, yay more for me and no driving!
Gets a bit annoying and ridicous. I can't/don't drink either but it's not because of addiction, pregnancy or family.
It's just because of the taste sucks and trying a food or drink where you run the risk of throwing up without even swallowing isn't worth trying to desensitise my taste buds for.
For medication? Yeah. Alcohol? No.
20 years ago this is exactly what it felt like to be a vegetarian…you young’uns have no idea how good you have it.
Yeah, why can’t I just not like to drink? And besides that, alcoholic drinks are expensive. So no!😏
Yup. Just don’t like the flavor and it always makes me too tired and gives me a headache. At most I’ll maybe do a hard seltzer on very rare occasions, but other than that, it’s a Diet Coke for me.
Everyone's got their own tastes!
Don't drink? Make $$$ gas money as the DDD
Non drinkers are actually great for DD purposes 😆
It's actually pretty easy if you have any social skills. #1, tell people ahead of time if you're not drinking when they invite you out for drinks. You don't have to make a big deal of it, you can even say "I'm on a detox/health kick/antibiotics at the moment" (don't have to say how long it is). I've done it on occasion, and so have most of my friends. It's not really a big deal, you just should give people a heads-up before they invite you to the wine-tasting.
Air trombone and air flute
Hiiiiiiiii
women ARE cackling hens..........ugh
Non drinkers are the loneliness people.
I def don’t like to hang out with ppl who don’t drink
DOES NOT COMPUTE
This is what being vegan is like, you can say nothing and people lose their shit
I’ll do your hair.
I never drank..ofcourse im muslim so
This isn't funny. I'm glad she left. Never stay with a group that pressures you into drinking.
