I did put some time into it today .... Going to take some time to get the sound right.... There are many ways for the audio path to go.... My first hookup didn't work... I tried to use the amp send and return... used when your using a head with the SYN2 .. Tried to use that to go to the AMR Tube sweetener .. and then use the FX send and return to the DSP unit.... .. I fx send was based on the unit volume in the syn2.. It wasn't a fixed output... There is no insert for the FX send and return... Not sure why the channel volume has anything to do with the FX send on each of the 4 channels... I'm reading the destructions ... now LOL
Now I gotta start a savings fund for one of those lol. But yea really ! I never knew you could do that until this video. A preamp that I could buy like a Mesa Boogie on one side and like a JCM 800 on the other side, that would be Amazing ! And I already have a rack with a Fender SPA-300 300 watt power amp that is the cleanest power amp I've ever heard. Too bad they stopped making those cuz it's a Beast ! $1600 for all that seems to be definitely the way to go ! Another great Video ! Thanks
Ya . . . . This is going to be a project. So far ... I have the Pre-Amp hooked up to my ProValve 6L6 power amp using the main outs. I also have hooked up a AMR tube sweetener with a Alesis Verb4 in the FX-Loop. I have not added the BBE in the chain. I'm thinking about trying the Mono FX loop in the ART SGX with the SYN2 loop channel. I'm not sure if my AGX will allow the loop index as your instrument input on the SGX would be connected to the " To Instr. Input Jack". Then use the Mono FX send and return into the SYN2 send and return. Doing this I would still have the AMR tube sweetener and the BBE on the stereo FX loop in the SGX. I would also have to come out of the MIDI though port of the SGX to the MIDI input port of the SYN2. I think . . . . . . LOL Doing this I may be able to use the Comp/Limiter/Expander in the SGX to resolve the noise floor in the SYN2.. Not sure.
Steve vai has a signature amp from synergy, what happened to tube amps years ago? Now it's modeling amps and compact rack mounted stuff, hey it all makes one thing, music for the ears to hear
I looked at the Vai unit . . . . its Green , So it has to be good if it's that in your FACE ..LOL I have tried to change over to Modelers 3 times.... There was aways just something missing. I almost did the AxeFX mach 3 rack unit... I had it in the cart.... I know it's a good unit. Very salty at 3,200 bucks without the MIDI controller. The sounds are there with this new rack unit I just picked up.... Just need to get a gate / limiter in the right spot to kill the noise floor of the tube stage.
If anyone is using this as a stand alone system PLEASE help me out... 1) Power amp Pro-Valve 6L6 2) DSP units Alesis Verb4 or Digitech Studio 200 3) Line Amp AMR Tube Sweetener 4) BBE 362 I don't have a limiter/comp/gate yet ... or not a 3 in 1 rack unit. I do have a DBX 262... Any thoughts on a good hook up or audio path for the above ???
Excited to hear them.
Can't wait to hear them!

@@DominionFretWorks yeah noise is not good if you're playing and you hear that hiss after playing, you want total silence
