[The video] "attempts to follow the life and history of the eastern tip of the city of Newcastle through its varied roles and functions. It tries to capture a sense of its continuity not by trying to recreate history but by noting the reportage, images and voices of those who were there."
Thanks to the East End residents for their time and support and to the twenty three artists who participated in the Project February 1984 - May 1985.
Newcastle is Australia's second oldest city, 160kms north of Sydney. This documentary examines the social history of its historic East End.

I remember the olde Newcastle from early 1973.
I think of Newy almost everyday and remember the old days with
fondness and regret what the town planners have turned the place into.
