I submitted an application for advanced parole (131 - permission to travel basically). I explained my parents were given 6 months to live and I wanted to go home to say goodbye. They took exactly a year to approve it. So, in my opinion and based on my experience, they dont give a crap about your plans or life. Sad truth.
