Loved this James! You're right Ted's probably isn't a name that will generate a ton of views on UA-cam but he's certainly a lot more interesting than other "bigger" names!

Could we get Matthew Syed on? He used to be a Table Tennis who's now become an author and a columnist. I'm no presenter, like you so I don't know how you relate it to a process but, maybe talk about evolving careers. I found the discussion about quantifying and analysing behavioural factors and, the idea of evolving the narrative amongst fans and punits really interesting. So props to you for delivering another banging interview. Just going back to Matthew Syed, he talks about the myth of talent and power of practice in relation to Black box thinking. Currently he's been promoting diversity of experience and ideas in high management. Usually these encompasses sports but don't necessarily have to. Just thought it was a good shout for a guest, keep up the good work!

Don't know Football being a Yank but, I worked with Ted early in his data career. It was clear to me then that Ted was a smart person among smart people. I'm pleased to see his success. Congratulations Ted, and to anyone who's been wise enough to listen to him :)
Great interview. I'm really impressed at how well and succinctly Ted was able to explain the in-depth statistics and analysis they have done into something you can relate to.
Realistically he’s the now of football. Other stats companies and other more in depth stats will be the future based on the work that Statsbomb and Ted himself have some.
This was great. Brilliant questions. I've been pretty invested in this stuff for a while now and there was plenty of new & interesting stuff in here but at the same time would be pretty understandable for someone new to it all. Just a bloody good interview. Annoying how cagey they are about the managerial recruitment side though!
I hope you are learning as much as we all are James, these Pods are teaching people a lot...
