Final Fantasy 2 just had this sense of hopelessness about it, you felt like you didn't have a chance in hell of overcoming the odds for a good portion of it. This song emphasizes that. (Whoa, thank you all for the likes! You're awesome!)
I love 4's overworld theme the most. It really fits the sorrowful mood often with the beginning of the game with the burden Cecil carries on his shoulders
Like, most of humanity are killed after a certain point, the only thing that prevented the emperor from finishing the job was Firion & company literally going to hell to stop him from doing further damage and later, the fallen heroes taking down his light half in heaven.
This is my favourite main theme in the series and this rendition is amazing. FFII really has some of the best music I really wish they would add a theme to distant worlds again preferably this or the rebel army.
It's scores like this that make the genius composer seem even more genius. No way in earth did Uematsu predict any of this when he first composed the melody out of chiptune sounds and whatnot.
I reckon he hears the orchestral version in his head when he first composed but due to the limitation of the existing music tech then he simplified it to fit the midi format
This game seriously has a lot of pretty good story telling going on, you just have to overcome the odds of its gameplay systems, but all the rest of it is absolutely great
This reminds me of way back when when I used to go on a music site (I wanna say it was called xenogamer or something like that) where I'd listed to many RPG series' arrange albums. This was one of my favorites, but I especially remember loving the FFV arrange album and the vocal FF albums the most.
This theme brings back all those nostalgic vibes to me. To me, listening to this right now is literally like, drinking a glass of cold water after a long time thirstiness lol. Damn, it has been a long time since i've heard of this theme again.
0:06 Captain America falling down. 1:06 Captain America watching the Thanos army. 1:26 Captain America standing up and squeezing his broken shield. 2:07 "On your left." 2:27 The portals. 3:28 "Assemble."
That's funny. The plot of II was heavily inspired by Star Wars. You play as four rebels trying to take down an evil Emperor who is traveling across the land destroying cities with his super weapon.
This is beautiful.
Life would be truly awful without beautiful music.

It gets even more hopeless after the Mysidia Tower.
This is why the ending feels so epic. Although they kinda jumped the shark when the Emperor conquered the underworld.

@@greyfox37 I love Cecil's redemption from dark knight to paladin too.

Freaking brilliant.
Man, Uematsu is a genius... and this is a great arrangement.

indeed
This entire album's rendition is amazing tbh. But yes I think this one is exceptional too.
This is beautiful! I'm obsessed with this!

Toprak Koç knowing what Uematsu can do, I can firmly disagree. That man knows his musics.
I reckon he hears the orchestral version in his head when he first composed but due to the limitation of the existing music tech then he simplified it to fit the midi format
Haunting and beautiful. I wish I could think of more words to describe it.
i cry everytime :
What a beauitful score
this is from 1989 and bring pure nostalgia to gamers.
Uematsu is such a genius. The power of his music and how they add to the games can't be overstated.
Ff2 is underrated and it had very awesome clothing and fashion style ☝️ Like Conan The Barbarian mixed with Some Asian movies back in the old days
I've had a mislabeled mp3 of this song for like 15 years. So happy that I finally found out the real title / source. Thank you for the upload!
What was the title?
Same here I been looking for this since college lol
Scene 1, from Symphonic Suite Final Fantasy album. It's the very first symphonic album retailed in Japan for the FF series.
@@segafan1316 It was labeled "Final Fantasy X Overworld" if I recall. Strange in retrospect since FFX doesn't even have an overworld. lol

never played FF2 but this theme is something else
You’re doing yourself a huge disservice by not playing it. It is an underrated masterpiece.
@@skuli5526 i generally don't play jrpgs anymore. these games should be 1/3 of their length
Sgt. Pepper No they shouldn’t.
@@skuli5526 it's not my time, feel free to waste it on grinding random encounters
no reply. typical.

Fantástico, essa música dá aquele aperto no coração, kkkkkkkk!!! Isso é arte!
The most somber map theme of the mainline series.
I feel like FFII could easily be remade as an FFXII mod
This theme brings back all those nostalgic vibes to me.

It Reminds me one of th ennio morricone's music in Once upon a time in the west :c
Uematsu, you are inmortal.
the emperor disliked this video
Best ff theme ever!
I first heard this music from the anniversary website when it came out for the PlayStation Portable, and it’s sad that the website no longer exists.
It took me years to track it down from the website to the cd.

@@skuli5526 Bro, relax.
Anyone else hear the guy cough in the beginning?
I meant I can't describe how amazing the music is anyway, why would the description? XD
Now you know where Spider-Man no way home got the soundtrack with changing basically 2 notes
Reminds me of the birth of the Ottoman Empire
oooooooooooooooooooohh heheh im soo sorry about it hehe xD i understood wrong, well i dont know some people like to read ;)
Reminds me of Jaina's theme
This is the final fantasy that touched my heart and very soul. Aside from rebirh, wth happened to the series after dissidia 012?
Awww, mine that touched my heart and a childhood game is Final Fantasy VIII.
@@sharon4942I'm not sure why 8 is hated the way it is but man, we live in a very negative society these days
no worries. XD
Where can i get this?!
This version sounds like it came out of Star Wars
That's funny. The plot of II was heavily inspired by Star Wars. You play as four rebels trying to take down an evil Emperor who is traveling across the land destroying cities with his super weapon.
For some reason this tune is reminiscent of Berserk manga.
I wish there was a version of this without the music.
never mind this comment. I thought this was promised land.
What?!?
Herolicar Bufole Um....it is......A very well orchestrated version of Promised Land
+Carbon61 Exactly my reaction.
Aww, I wish that the guitar/violin entrance was featured just as much as the rest of the song.
It was the only thing I liked about this song
