I wish I knew the technical terms to describe my experince with this song in a way that wasn't just the metaphor of it pulling on my heart strings. Still, to do this day one of the most powerful songs I have heard and return to.
I don't know if anyone will ever read this but why do stories or music of dead person always sound so much sadder? It breaks my heart all the time if i find something where the writer, composer or singer did die...
In fact, you have no idea how many times I've listened to the instrumental version just to try to understand how anyone could come up with that. I've learned a lot from it and still learn something new every time I listen to it
I wouldn't call the original overproduced, I'd call other music dull. One of the reasons why I love this song is the fantastic arrangement, also, there's a reason why the composer wanted it that way. Simple stuff is great and you can make good songs with basic arrangements, but that's not how this song works, I'm a musician and I feel and understand the beauty of how it was done. Tabi no Tochuu insipired me from the first time I heard it, and I haven't been able to create anything like it yet
I play piano, and also marveled at the masterpiece that this song truly is. It uses simplicity to create something so complex, it is hard to capture with words or a piano.

最近魔法使いの嫁追っかけて1期のEDが聞いた瞬間にはまって吉良さんを知った。狼と香辛料も昔見てて道の途中もCD持ってたけど、当時は作曲者とか特に気にしてなかったなあ。若くして亡くなられてたなんて😢

亡くなられる少し前にコンサートへ行きました。私は吉良さんの奏でるギターが大好きでした。あのようにギターが弾ければといつも思っていました。亡くなられたのを知った時はショックでした。コンサートで最後に演奏した曲がとても印象的で今でも忘れません。狼と香辛料の曲大好きです。色んな方が歌われる中、吉良さんが歌われているのが一番好きです。他の方のも良いですが、吉良さんのギターがとてもしっくりする気がします。
また生演奏の吉良さんのギターが聞きたい と今でも思います。

because their context, when you listen to a song where the writer is still breathing, you feel happy, if he is not, it's sad, nothing wrong with it :)
