Well there is a manga following the story after the second anime season. You should definitely check it out, but since the story is done with that their main source of income to get funds for another season sort of fired up, even though I am quite sure they would be surprised that they could make even with the income of a new anime alone. Hope is often the last to die after all.

This is one of the most heart-touching piano covers I've watched in a long while.. I remember back in 2012 after binge-watching the entire Spice and Wolf series, I wanted to play this piece on piano, I somehow found an old TehIshter's cover of this piece on UA-cam but wasn't able to play it due to my lack of skills back then. But damn, to me the anime was on the level of Clannad, one of the bests out there. I've not felt so emotionally attached to an anime song for a long time (since I don't watch anime as often anymore), but this cover's 'throwback' to an older classical anime really does it. Please do more old throwback anime song covers if possible! Thoroughly enjoyed this one, and also the full ver. OP of Attack on Titan last week, was on full blast earpiece replay the entire time at work ;) Awesome cover man :D
Ah yes, the golden age of anime from 2012-2015. I miss my old anime bros, man. We used to be super hyped about every new weekly episode. That's why I am doing nostalgia piano covers lately: you just have a special connection to them
Nothing against new anime, but really I‘m not even hyped anymore when a new episode of something comes out. It just doesn’t have the vibes to me anymore
@@jeremylam6060 Yup, sometimes certain priorities in life takes over and there's less time for leisure (in this case, anime). But to others who're probably just starting to get into anime, this is their "hyped phase" so to speak, and every new episode is just as exciting to them now as it was to us earlier. But it's not all that bad, I'm still very hyped for and am looking forward to Shingeki no Kyojin season 4, just to cite an example :D
God this was beautiful, when the third harmonies and bass started to come in on the chorus I could see that scene in the op where the wolf walks through the forest. The build up was amazing and the KEY CHANGE WAS SO SMOOTH. I love this anime, I definitely should read the novels but let’s hope for a third season. This video is definitely enough to hold me over though
Speaking of key changes, they are always a double edged sword. If done well , they can be really amazing (God Knows - Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu OST, Tabi no Tochuu - Spice and Wolf OP) but if its not musically well prepared enough (Sincerely - Violet Evergarden OP, This Game - No Game No Life OP, to name a few) they can feel a little bit "redundant" in my opinion. But Tabi no Tochuu has definitely one of the most amazing key change of all times, because the whole song structure is literally preparing for this key change moment. I can't believe I never did a piano arrangement for this song until today. This song is really one of my all time favorite Anime OP songs of all times
@@Animenzzz Hi Animenz! If I may ask, what's wrong with the key change in Sincerely? Is it the lack of build up? I'm listening to both right now and while I can see how NGNL's OP feels really abrupt and not built up to, Sincerely feels like it has a bit more build up to it.
@@goldy496 I'm not animenz, but try imagine removing the key change in Sincerely. It doesn't really change the song that much. It feels a bit unneeded in the song, where as in this song, the tension in the song is increased up to the key change. That's at least how I hear it
The third season will never be coming, the author said so in an interview. Definitely pick up the novels though as they are outstanding and beautifully translated. You can also find all of them online as e-books.

Looks like we're seeing the emergence of Animenz Piano *Improvisation Master* Key moments for me: 1:55 - lovely shift to a high register passage 2:12 - who doesn't love some good ol 3 hand 3:02 - great modulation 3:07 - B A S S B O I S 3:53 - that tease of some Howl's moving castle waltzing left hand. I was expecting it to follow with some more of that And then ending it with a bang This is one of my favorite shows, listening to this really brought back some nostalgia. Thank you.
Speaking of 3:53 : there was actually a version of the arrangement, where I was playing the final chorus with this staccato 1-2-3 waltz rhythm, but ultimately, it didn't fit quite well in the overall structure of the song. That's why only "quoted" it in the final two beats at 3:53. The more you know (´・ω・`)
I also appreciate the comments, who are pointing out the variations I am doing in my piano arrangements. All the trial on error on the piano was worth it in the end. 😊

I think Animenz first performed this song at Animenz Live 2015 Suzhou as an encore. To me, this song is unforgettable, because the structure of it is very unusual. It gives me brand new feelings every time I listen to it. Animenz’s piano version is also absolutely fantastic, this arrangement does not contain too many difficult techniques but I feel warm when I am listening to it. 素晴らしい, looking forward to your next upload.

This song made me cry so many times. Probably because of the singers voice, the feeling of adventure, the longing of discovery, the depiction of developing romance, the scenes that were still in my memories everytime at around 1:00 and 3:00, or most probably, the mesmorizing heroine... Nostalgia, is what I needed, not depression😞

Well, I just finished the anime and did some research with the light novels. All I can say is wow, I really enjoyed Spice and Wolf and I'm as happy as can be. Plus this opening has become my new favourite. The original is fantastic but something about Animenz playing it on the piano makes me happy.

Omg, I can’t believe I missed this. Since the day I finished this anime all those years ago and went on to read the books , I’ve loved this song. You’re taken on a slow but beautiful journey with some of the most realistic (Wolf god aside) and amazing characters I’ve seen and this song reminds me of that journey every time I hear it. I think a remake of its anime is about to come out but, this version of the anime is my very favourite because of this piece. The singer's voice delivered an impactful melody that I cannot help but shed a tear and feel a sense of yearning for an adventure. Miss the anime and just trying to rewatch old videos.
man this is so good, its kept simple first but with a lot cool elements, my fav parts were definitely the 3rd technique starting at 2:10 , the build up 2:58 and the short break at 3:58 and then goes into it again with full power, this song brings me back while listen i had the feels again, i really love the contrast between intense parts soft parts and the short break that all together makes this arrangement so good. thank you for this upload ! im really glad you upload so often, i really enjoyed this one hope to see you continue this upload streak :P
I am starting to use those miniscule musical "breaks" more and more in my latest arrangements. They add tons of suspense and excitement in your piano arrangement. I think at this point, the 3 hand technique is now considered as "animenz-fanservice" now (笑), but I am only using if it truly fits in the flow of music. Doing more Nostalgia piano covers from now on!

This was one of the first songs I ever learned to play. I learned from Ishter’s cover, and I have to say, your cover is really amazing and emotional. Although I forgot how to play it, I think I’ll relearn this your way now.
You've perfectly captured the spirit of this piece, and also added a bit of your own. I remember while first watching spice and wolf, and hearing tabi no tochuu, it sent chills through my body. Spice & Wolf is probably my favourite anime ever. Truth be told, I prefer the second opening, because I could never get around to enjoying the rather monotone melody of Tabi no Tochuu, but I really liked this version. Your variations, at least in my opinion, seemed to give the melody more variety and "life", if you know what I mean. I'm an utter ignorant when it comes to musical stuff, so I can't explain it well... It's quite frustrating. I just wanted to tell you that I loved this cover, and that I'm really enjoying your "nostalgia trip" back to the early 2010's anime. Good work man.

It's my favorite song ever, fell in love with it as well as Spice & Wolf. No other anime made me feel that way, closest being Mahou Tsukai No Yome.

SnW is one of my top anime but the light novels are honestly the best books I've ever read.

Probably because of the singers voice, the feeling of adventure, the longing of discovery, the depiction of developing romance, the scenes that were still in my memories everytime at around 1:00 and 3:00, or most probably, the mesmorizing heroine... Nostalgia, is what I needed, not depression😞

Well, I just finished the anime and did some research with the light novels. All I can say is wow, I really enjoyed Spice and Wolf and I'm as happy as can be. Plus this opening has become my new favourite. The original is fantastic but something about Animenz playing it on the piano makes me happy.
I learnt all my business and economics from spice and wolf and passed the exams. Such a masterpiece anime played by god animenz. Amazing.

Omg, I can’t believe I missed this. Since the day I finished this anime all those years ago and went on to read the books , I’ve loved this song. You’re taken on a slow but beautiful journey with some of the most realistic (Wolf god aside) and amazing characters I’ve seen and this song reminds me of that journey every time I hear it.

I think a remake of its anime is about to come out but, this version of the anime is my very favourite because of this piece. The singer's voice delivered an impactful melody that I cannot help but shed a tear and feel a sense of yearning for an adventure. Miss the anime and just trying to rewatch old videos.

Man, this brings me back. Absolute wave of nostalgia...
man this is so good, its kept simple first but with a lot cool elements, my fav parts were definitely the 3rd technique starting at 2:10 , the build up 2:58 and the short break at 3:58 and then goes into it again with full power, this song brings me back while listen i had the feels again, i really love the contrast between intense parts soft parts and the short break that all together makes this arrangement so good. thank you for this upload ! im really glad you upload so often, i really enjoyed this one hope to see you continue this upload streak :P
I am starting to use those miniscule musical "breaks" more and more in my latest arrangements. They add tons of suspense and excitement in your piano arrangement. I think at this point, the 3 hand technique is now considered as "animenz-fanservice" now (笑), but I am only using if it truly fits in the flow of music. Doing more Nostalgia piano covers from now on!

Spice & Wolf is probably my favourite anime ever. Truth be told, I prefer the second opening, because I could never get around to enjoying the rather monotone melody of Tabi no Tochuu, but I really liked this version. Your variations, at least in my opinion, seemed to give the melody more variety and "life", if you know what I mean. I'm an utter ignorant when it comes to musical stuff, so I can't explain it well... It's quite frustrating.
I just wanted to tell you that I loved this cover, and that I'm really enjoying your "nostalgia trip" back to the early 2010's anime. Good work man.
