    I bought a used 2015 Fiat 500e a couple weeks ago. It has 50k miles on it. Fully charged it reports 114 miles range. I live in a rural area with lots of hills. By the time I get to town, the range has gone down to 85. By the time I leave town, it has gone back up to 90. I don't drive much or far anymore, so it is perfect for me.

    So glad you did a review on this one!
    This car is on my list since it has now been narrowed down to all electric cars.
    Whats cool about the 500e is that its one of the few electric cars that actually look good.
    A lot of other car makers design an electric car ... and its almost like they are purposefully trying to make it look as weird as possible.
    the 500e looks really good with the same range as a leaf.

    Great little car, I've got up to 98 miles on most charges, plus no problem in the winter as long as you have winter tires....plus it's really quite

      and it will probably last 500,000km for town use, best to rust proof the steel rivets underneath considering batteries last .7mn km and motors last 1.5mn km

    I leased one and loved it, sadly they would not allow me to buy it at the end of the lease. For a 'compliance car' it was really well done. Great job FIAT! (Replaced with with a 500 Abart(h))

    After government incentives, the low cost of recharging, and virtually no maintenance, this car makes a lot of sense to purchase if you're looking to save money, save the environment, and have fun while doing it!

      True! I wonder who absorbs the cost on lease returns, the dealer buys the car from the manufacturer right,

      I have a used dealership, I bought couple of 2015 with 5k miles on them, the interior looks from a high class car, with all the color matching and nice detail, I paid 5600 each from auction. They are really cheap at auction.

    Do you know if I buy one of these as a used vehicle and bring it to WA state..will the Fiat dealers here work on it for warranty issues...or do they restrict that to CA and OR?

    Do they offer a rag top, or moonroof in the EV model? I want an Abarth style in an EV form. Curious how these compare with the Spark and the Leaf in the way they drive on the road. I imagine the Fiat is a bit Stiffer and Taller feeling? Spark has a crazy amount of torque and more HP, so it is likely quite a bit Faster, it also has the advantage of being a 4 door while also small and easy to maneuver like the Fiat (that is the car I have the most interest in, I think). The Leaf likely feels the most adult, roomy and refine. Guessing, Here. ;)

    • @farukcarushi4983
      @farukcarushi4983 6 років тому +1

      djkenny this car is great, fast, quiet, fun to drive, and has a huge sunroof. It’s not offered in a ragtop. Range varies depending on speed and outside temperature. The sweet spot is between 60 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The heater sucks way more electricity than the A/C. On a warm day, in stop and go city traffic, you will get 100 miles of range. On a cold day, on the freeway, using the heater, you’ll be lucky to get 70 miles. The slower the better. The great thing about this car besides the fact that it’s cheaper to fuel than a gas car is that it’s so quick off the line and in traffic, very zippy and nimble. People are shocked by how fast it is.
      One thing about the Leaf, the battery is not managed thermally like the fiat, the battery takes abuse from the heat and cold and does not last as long in the Leaf. And it’s ugly. We love our fiats. Very cheap on the used market

    I would be so scared driving this little car in the winter on the highway feeling that I would be side swiped by a big truck. I would need some more convincing since its so small. +Everyman Driver would you recommend this car to a college commuter interested in leasing? Can this car take a level 3 charger (DC fast charging)?

    Nice car but 87 Miles per charge is too little. You need at least 200 miles range before it becomes practical.

    • @tacosaregood8848
      @tacosaregood8848 7 років тому +2

      Hector Guevara, I have this car. It’s practical if all you do is stay in town as I do very little driving; to school, grocery store, movie theater etc and back home. The regenerative braking keeps adding range miles. And if you stay in town, plenty of stop lights/signs to keep me going. It’s practical for quiet lifestyles.

    REALLY BAD ADVICE: "Drive up a hill, and regen all the way down, to build a little extra energy."
    The driver following that Dumb girl's recommendation would deplete the battery even Lower than before they tried that stunt

    This car being small and electric reminds me of the bumper cars at the amusement park! 4 hours to charge so that you can go 87 miles makes this car a ridiculous choice.

    • @farukcarushi4983
      @farukcarushi4983 6 років тому +4

    I know this is dating me, but I remember when to have an electric car meant driving something very odd(ugly)looking, almost like a car somebody built themselves and had no concept on how to design car. It is nice to see mainstream cars with just an alternative power plant. As far as the interior goes.How is that going to look in 10 years time?Pretty grubby I would think.

    its pretty pathetic the kind of reps they send out on these things. its not just this video, its basically 90% of the car review videos on youtube with a manufacturer rep. They studied a power point of keywords and selling points the night before but otherwise are totally clueless

    These cars like the smart car, cooper and small cars are a death trap if you are involved in an accident! I'll never forget when I witnessed a F150 hit a smaller car like this only going 35-40 MPH on our neighbor street. I wouldn't put any of my loved ones in a car so small because you will be headed to ICU if they are hit buy some dummie driver.
