As the certified Latino viewer, your Spanish has my seal of approval! And yes, you should totally wear those MCO carpet socks in your videos as an inside joke to this video. It's really cool that Frontier names their aircrafts after wildlife to promote the incredible and sadly endangered species that call our planet home. The Endangered Species Act is one of the world’s strongest protections for biodiversity, thus it's one of the most important acts Congress has ever passed as it's crucial for protecting them!
Great White Sharks are one of the only known surviving species of its genus Carcharodon. They have seven rows of serrated teeth, they can have around 300 teeth total at once, and they can go through as many as 50K teeth in their lifetime! But they don't chew their food! The average swimming speed for a great white shark is around 25 kilometers per hour, but it is possible for them to reach speeds of up to 50 kilometers per hour! They can migrate long distances, from Hawaii to California, and from South Africa to Australia.

I find Aerolopa to be more up-to-date than Seatguru. Seatguru is often missing the newest planes for a lot of airlines.

@@brunhildevalkyrie I’ll have you know that those two sentences completely contradict each other. You say “from the river to the sea,” which is a slogan meaning the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. In between the two, is Israel. So saying this slogan is just calling for complete destruction of the State of Israel, meaning an almost complete genocide of the Jewish people. Now you say “end genocide,” but look who’s talking.

Frontier actually intentionally sells those connections (and similar over Denver... like Pittsburgh to Green Bay via Denver for $59 when the other airlines are $300). If the seats are open and available, and people are willing to spend the time to potentially save money, why not. Plus Frontier makes over 50% of its revenue off of ancillary sales like seat assignments, bag fees, on board retail, etc.
You were on two A321neos which are virtually brand new. I've flown a few of them this year with Frontier and they did a pretty good job with them. Definitely more comfortable than some of the others (and it helps I get free Stretch seating with my elite status). I have had consistently good flight attendants with Frontier as well.
I got some MCO carpet pattern socks for free by asking on social media (and I was flying there on an airline's inaugural flight too). Surprising number of airports have socks. Nashville has a few patterns. I have some from Norfolk, Atlanta, Portland. Nashville also in their terminal renovation is selling bits of their apparently iconic carpet. I have a Christmas ornament of a piece of carpet with "BNA" stitched into it. People love their airports...

I’ve done that overnight in Orlando once. Was connecting from my parents home airport of Aguadilla, Puerto Rico through to Cleveland. Brought a sleeping bag and camping mat with me and got a pretty solid 4 hours of sleep. I don’t remember there being music playing in the terminal

Spotted eagle rays grow to a maximum length of 16.4 feet (or 5 m), including the tail, and 507 pounds (or 230 kg). Their wingspan reaches a maximum width of 9.8 feet (or 3 m) from tip to tip. The spotted eagle ray is one of the largest eagle rays, with only the mantas growing bigger. Spotted eagle rays can be found from the surface to just over 196 feet (or 60 m) deep. Spotted eagle rays can leap their entire bodies out of the water while swimming close to the surface.
The Urbanismo-22 vehicles are the same rolling stock on the Macau LRT! The McCoy of the former Air Force Base is Colonel Michael Norman Wright McCoy. He was killed in 1957 in the crash of a B-47 Stratojet which suffered wing failure while taking part in a practice demonstration, and it was renamed after him the following year. The Air Force Base was Orlando's biggest employer and economic backbone before WDW opened in 1971.

I am surprised that you did not try Amtrak as an alternative. You could have left Pittsburgh on the Pennsylvanian at an early morning time and arrived in Philadelphia where you could change to a train to Boston and arrived around 10 PM. I don’t know the coach class ticket price is but it most likely not been more than what you ended up paying for those flights you took. Also you would not have had to spend the night in the Orlando airport or bother with those TSA agents who gave you problems. But that was an interesting trip you took.

One of the things that is interesting about this to me is that for the average person in the US, planes are the most straight-forward, sensible means of transportation---and train travel is impractical and mostly romantic. But when you have to explain and think about the contortions needed for air travel, it doesn't seem like a very reasonable way to travel. And it is true that here you were doing something that was a stretch on purpose, but many flights require transfers, and security and luggage are expensive and time consuming. But people are accustomed to it.
I think also people in mid-sized metros believe that some day the Budget Airlines will be able to fly from their city to any other city, and are just waiting for the model to perfect itself. But the economics and logistics of it just don't make sense, while 30 dollar flights between Atlanta and Chicago might be possible, that is (with current technology) never going to happen between Pittsburgh and Indianapolis (for example).

MCO TSA has been … crazy is probably a generous word but more pleasant than others I prefer to use … for decades now, worsened by higher percentages of children and inexperienced air travelers. Even with TSA PreCheck, I allow more time for clearing security there, though the Pre lines are usually far faster.
And yeah, don’t ever take an insulin pump through a body scanner. Most have no issues with the metal detectors, but cannot go through either the carry on bag scanner or the body scanner. Continuous glucose monitor sensors, if you have a CGM with your pump, generally can’t go through either of those scanners either.

    • @jackwtat
      @jackwtat 6 місяців тому +2

Planes are often given temporary registrations prior to delivery to the customer. In this case, the plane was assembled in Germany, given a German registration, flown to Frontier in the US, and given a new American registration.

I once flew NYC to Cincinnati with a layover in Dallas. Also random fun fact, the cheapest and most efficient way of flying to Cayenne in French Guiana is from Paris so in theory flying from say NYC (or just for a laugh, from Miami) you would layover in Paris.

What makes their Airbus A320 new engine option family unique is they got two different options A321neo PW1100G like a United and Delta Airlines A321-271N. While A320neos have a CFM Leap-X engines. What the airline should have done was go leap-x on A321neo making them an A321-251N which would have made sense in terms of maintenance. Speaking of the Mitsubishi Crystal mover is it better than the AirTrain JFK Alstom Innovia pre 2021 Bombardier innovia or monorail AirTrain Newark Airport. Pittsburgh to Boston could have been a bit cheaper if you time to transfer on Amtrak at 30th Street UPenn station towards Boston South Station via New Haven Yale University stations and Providence Brown University Station.

The parking and traffic along with line management leave so much to be desired too but it works at minimal.

Yeah Living in Orlando MCO is a trip. Also only four more years of Mayor Dyer's greeting on the trains. He is retiring after his current term. I personally think it should be the county mayor greeting on the train as most folks are going to the resorts and Orlando and how it's laid out is way different than traditional cities. During the holidays is definitely a brave time to explore MCO.

"Tucked my camera bag under my jacket just in case it would have been considered an extra personal item"
Wouldn't the airlines tell you at the gate to consolidate your bags if you have more than one personal item these days? Surely if your backpack had space/room you could put your camera bag in there, no? Or do they want you to put it in your carry-on bag if it could be considered such? I'm flying again soon in a few months (unsure if I wanna use points or get more miles, long story but torn between two airlines is the gist) so I'm not on the up and up ever since an October 2023 trip, so if you find out, let me know because that'd be helpful lol.
No on the socks personally imo, but you'd probably already either made that decision or the other one before the video was uploaded. Not enough blood sugar and limited access to things that offer sustenance sucks -- I am assuming Hudson News (if Orlando's airport has one, but I'd be very shocked if it does not) was not open at 3:30AM either. The Gummy Bear lady story was sweet as well (no pun intended).
Yes to a potential Brightline video. Would love to see more of that.
small side note: I've been independently trying to learn Spanish for a while now, and I understood about 65% of what you said about Feliz Navidad. I'd be annoyed if I couldnt get any sleep too because the song was too loud.....at least I think that's what you said, the gist anyway, lol. (the visuals helped, plus what you said before)
