I've a Kadett D competition car with a rotten rear chassis. Ideal for a calibra 4wd install...

the 20xe engine is one of the best 4 pot motors ever created, read up on the history of its development and its racing pedigree, the engine is still used today in some racing formulas some 25 years later

its Still a very popular choice for drag racing here in South Africa.

Well, in South Africa you could get probably the best factory C20XE version of them all in shape of the homologation special Kadett Superboss...
(Develops 170+ hp stock, natural aspirated of course)

Yes, Calibra & Vectra (Cavalier) Turbo came standard with permanent 4x4 via a viscous coupling.
It was a developement from Steyr-Daimler-Puch (maybe known for their hardcore offroad vehicles like Haflinger, Pinzgauer or even the Mercedes G-wagon).
However the viscous coupling had limitations in terms of torque -this 600hp build would destroy it for sure.
Judging by the video title, this Vectra got the Xtrac AWD fitted, which was originally intended for a Group B version of the Astra / Kadett.
Never knew someone had built a Xtrac Vectra Turbo... cool stuff.

yha , makes me remeber the kadette 4S. with the xtrac, but kadette was much faster, and tiff. That car made the grB finish, toivonen was just an excuse. It was seen in the race environment as more developed than audi so,trying not the loose the glory, they ended the race, and car forgotten.

AUDI 4 WAS JUST FUCKED UP.
REMEBER XTRAC TURNED IN THE BEST IN THE WORLD, SO...
THEY ENDED THE GROUP B , OPEL ENDED THE GROUP B. THIS IS THE MOST DEEP SECRET KEPT IN THE WORLD RALLY, A MECHNIC TOLD ME, THEY STARTED TO TALK ABOUT IT EVERYWHERE.
