In some ways, this episode foreshadowed Gabrielle trying to protect Hope from Xena. It was the first time Xena refused to listen to Gabrielle's point of view.

I remember this episode. This could had been an episode that happened in Series 3 ("The Execution" S2 E17) and took place during Xena and Gabrielle's rift following Solan's murder at the hands of Hope.
