    I like this version more than the 2011 one with Mia and Michael. These two ACTUALLY talk openly and are really close, sitting next to each other and talking all the time. Great casting!!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    Definitely the best adaptation of Jane Eyre. The atmosphere in particular is impeccable.

    I love the way he looks at her after she's agreed that he did the right thing...he so desperately wants her approval.
    I love this version, even if it deviates from the book (and I adore the book) because these two have the best chemistry!

      It's the dramatic sad music that continuous after Jane asks "do you still love her sir?" and of course their brilliant acting that makes Rochester's reaction so funny, genius.

    God, Mr. Rochester can really make your heart fly with his grating voice and good looks :D, however, i can't understand one thing. In the book, Mr. Rochester was not considered handsome, in fact he was described as quite ugly, but maybe that's because the victorian notion of beauty was different :S, what do you guys think?

      Well, even as I was reading the book, and I believe I kept the original picture of him in my mind throughout the book as was explained through Jane, he started to grow on me. I don't know, does that make sense to you?

    There is supposed to be a huge age difference between them. in the book, thats one of the problems for them getting married...well besides the mad woman in his attic.

    • @KoiYakultGreenTea

      lollipopfop I think for the time, a rich man is often overlooked marrying a young woman for a fertile prospect of heirs because love or happiness isn’t that important when money is involved

    • @bertramwinslowiii2119
      @bertramwinslowiii2119 3 роки тому +3

      Rich men got to marry women 20 years younger then them back then, just as they do now. But there's a very funny scene in the book when Jane tells Mrs Fairfax she's going to marry 'the master' and Mrs F is so incredulous and appalled that Jane gets quite upset with her.

    haha I always like older actors too! The younger ones just don't do it for me...men usually seem to get better with age...lucky! Older guys are more talented from experience and come across as more mature and gentlemen-like, which is always appealing!! Not to mention more complex than all the boys :)

    Did you know that Stephenie Meyer named her Edward after Mr. Rochester? Jane Eyre is one of her favorite books, too, and she said that some of Twilight was kinda based off of it.

    The fantasy really comes true, Toby Stephens, is a great actor, but his crying in the last scenes was real, from someone who was really involved, very sorry and sad that they would end.
    Too bad they didn't assume that truth.

    lemmonade99,
    I agree! In the book, Jane is very clever and is not afraid of showing it once she has got used to Mr. Rochester. Ruth Wilson is a fine actress. It is a pity that she did not get the opportunity to show it more. It would have been interesting to watch her work with scripts like the ones used for the BBC adaptations of Jane Eyre from 1973 or 1983.

    =.= They are nothing a like. Only Rochester's passionate affection and need to constantly be with Jane would match Edwards; however, their personalities are absolutely nothing alike. Rochester is the very definition of what a man is like, Edward reminds me of a pubescent whiney boy DX
