Taking crosses is highly challenging given the physicality involved and the athleticism it needs no question about that! I'm very glad that you devoted an entire video for crosses, Conor! Thank you so much! "BRAVERY" in my opinion is the most important attribute and the only way to build it up is through repetitions, because with ACTION comes CLARITY. Believe it or not, I still feel nervous before games when I see the net I should be guarding, but once I start doing drills, I revert back to normal! So, REPETITIONS are KEY! Thanks again!
When I was 13 and got into an ameture club i always had decision and confidence issues with arial ball collection. Over the years I worked on it by listening to coaches, senior players, watching world class golies and i can proudly confirm that I'm 20 now and i still struggle a lot with them. Hopefully these drills will help a lot to improve.
Just keep focusing on what you can control! You're very young, you have lots of time to grow - use your time now to focus on improving your GK ability, and you will be ahead of the rest!
Can make a video just like this one but the topic would be ´´1v1s training ´´ or something like that. Btw amazing video love it mate keep on smashing it ❤🙌
Hi conor, love the video I've always love taking crosses from opposition until I got to a certain level where at some point the crosses are really whipping in and very hard to judged, I tried to cheat out as you said but at that level opponent tend to take a shoot /chip, could you share how do you read the opponents on whether they want to cross near /far or going for a shot on goal?
It's hard, you definitely can't cheat too much/go too early, as good players will catch you out. Once they put their head down, that can be a good chance to get a step in if you want to, but otherwise wait for the cross, assess the flight, then decide. It's only 2/3 yards difference if you want to be brave too, so just make sure that you can still cover the goal if they do choose to shoot!
Well it would be ideal if you can practice with both hands, so that you can choose the one which gives you the best angle/reach to the ball. In reality, most people just use their strong hand, but practicing with both would be best!
Hi Conor! Just wondering about the shouting during thr cross, I have noticed you shout pretty late, like just before you jump. I have always been told to shout as early as possible, when I have decided togo for the ball. What are your thoughts on this?
Hey Conor, this is somewhat related to the video but how do I go out and practice on my own? Sometimes I feel embarrassed that people will see me and think something, and it sometimes stops me from going to public fields. How do I get out of my own head?
Well in general, it's very rare that other people actually think about you! And their opinions don't really do much for you, so instead focus on you and the work that you want to do. I have a few solo training videos on the channel which should help if you want some support with it!
7:23 is my favourite part of the video!

Completely agree!! So much comes from practice!

Top class is per usual 👌🔥
Thank you mate!!
Thanks for the video ❤
You're welcome!
Really struggling with football at the moment, any advice to get the love back for it?
Take it back to basics. Set small goals that you can control completely. Work on areas that you enjoy. Take it back to why you love it!
Hi Conor, what if we decide to punch the ball with one hand, which leg we need to use to jump if the cross is on the left hand side
Well it would be ideal if you can practice with both hands, so that you can choose the one which gives you the best angle/reach to the ball. In reality, most people just use their strong hand, but practicing with both would be best!
Thak you my guy
You’re welcome!
Quality !!
Thanks mate!

You're right, the earlier the better! Probably a bit of laziness from me - will work on it!

Also catching crosses is extremely satisfying especially if you start a counter attack after
Agreed! Great feeling
