I think Blake's comments during and after this performance is what gave the victory to Gina. She was clearly the best singer and his affirmation gave his supporters kind of the okay to vote for her.
For those who didnt notice...she turns around at the end to thank the band. That deserves her winning the show for me.

people who don’t sing often won’t realize just how difficult it is to switch registers so effortlessly like she does. She’s insane
Facts right here! It's easy to switch to upper register from lower register but when you go back into your lower register and then back into upper, its risky because you end up pitchy or flat trying to escalate like that. But Gina leaves you on an absolute Rollercoaster ride with flawless precision. She makes it look easy!

richness on the low tones and ethereal feel in her upper range, so perfect in her head voice, mesmerizing. She really connected these lyrics to emotion and suprised holding that long notes. Nicely done! - So You Wanna Be A Singer

I'm not familiar with any other performances she's given, but I'm definitely going to have to listen to her journey so far cause she sounds so lovely here. I've lost count on how many times I've watched this performance. This is one of my all time favorite songs and her interpretation was stellar. She deserved to win The Voice and I'm very happy for her that she did.

i have heard several people sing this song and did it so terribly i felt sorry for Chris Isaak.
This song wrecked me. I’m 58 years old and this has been one my favorite songs of all time. I have never heard it from a woman’s perspective. The angst and hurt I felt just tore me up. This was an amazing performance and I hope one day you do a full cover of this song. You are a true artist and an amazing young lady. Bravo!
That was better then the original. I’ve been looking on Spotify. I really want it Gina’s version on my playlist. In the meantime I listen to it over and over on UA-cam.

Gina is a natural, when she got past the nerves of the blind auditions she did nothing but flawlessly DELIVER! I was never one to play favorites on the voice but she's definitely my top 1 this season!

You’ve made that comment several times so I listened to Diana’s version. I disagree that Gina “was going for Diana’s version”. Chris Isaak’s original had the upper and lower register changes. Both Gina and Diana followed the original relatively closely. I don’t like that Diana is using her chest voice in her lower register - it sounds almost guttural. I find Gina using her head voice in her lower register much more pleasing to listen to. I’m also not a fan of the howling at the end in Diana’s version, but we all have our own musical preferences.
I am intrigued by you comment in another thread where you said that Gina’s version ids “good for a U.S. signing competition”. Isn’t Voice of Russia a signing competition. What about its format or contestants is better than The Voice US?
@@orlock20: Wrong! Gina did NOT go for the Diana Andinikova version, which I’m sure, few voice contestants have even listened to. Gina’s version is a soulful masterpiece, sung with a charming innocence and she made the song her own. The version of Diana A. is more of a stylized, experimental performance of the song.
