I really really like how all yall portray a positive attitude while shopping for thrifted goods going to be used for hunting. I have a reversible tree bark Camo/blaze orange jacket I’ve worn for every day of WI gun season for the last 15 years 🤣 love that thing so much.
My wife LOVES goodwill and salvation army stores….which saves me money…..and now my grown kids have followed suit….my youngest got some NICE hunting camo this year. We lost our house 4 years ago in a fire and we were left with no clothes…i was out hunting so i had nothing but the hunting clothes I was wearing…..we went right to the salvation army store and bought clothes…..great place to shop.

The things you see when you don't have tags..lol 😂 A lot can be said about thriftin... I have an old PSE bow, almost 36 years now, bought from a thrift store just starting out with bows. Still does me right to this day. Love the hunts, great job Jake and team Goodwill!! ❤

Had a lot of success deer hunting for many years before owning any camo. Got camo when turkey hunting started getting more popular.
Love these videos of budget buys to get folks in the woods. It’s easy to get caught up in the mix of thinking you need to spend tons of money to hunt. Yes, the expensive stuff may have some benefits but it’s not necessary. I hunted in hand me downs until the past couple years when the budget allowed me to upgrade to a merino wool outfit.
Trebark has a special place in my heart. I grew up hanging around the “flagship” store here in Roanoke, VA and have known Jim Crumley since I was a little boy. I have 2 bags, my gym bag and my travel bag, which are both OG Trebark, and I wouldn’t part with them for the world. Fun story, he used a pair of Dickies coveralls and Sharpie markers to create the prototype for the entire brand.
Gray coveralls and black and brown sharpies. Everyone wanted to buy his work coveralls. Thankfully he started the camouflage clothing industry.
My favorite thing about this video was that 4 minutes in I had an ad for First Lite pop up 😂😂 naturally i smashed the skip button

The treebark camo is the way to go. YES we all probably have nice camo but there's just something about the retro camo that you can't beat.

Yes! Great video. So much great stuff in thrift stores. Especially when you have multiple kids you have to suit up for the outdoors. Probably 80% of our gear is from a thrift store haha

Good dog. We trained my grandsons lab for tracking. Shes doing good. Is amazing how fast they can recover a deer versus us blood trailing. Especially some areas with red brush and such.

Congrats on a Thrifty doe! I shop Goodwill for Merino sweaters and pay like 4 bucks for them. They are great base layers and you can layer 2 or 3 if needed.

My papaw had tons of the old bark camo that he left behind for me and my brother when he passed away a couple years ago. Unfortunately we lost it all when his house burned down the year before last.
That’s a good spot to hunt. Lots of bucks!
St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation army and other second hand stores sometimes have hunting gear. I personally use a Carthartt knock off jacket and bibs and cover both with a paper thin nylon orange suit from head to toe because I hunt my state's public land and don't want an accident to occur. That jacket and bibs are the exact color of a deer's hide in the fall. For boots, military surplus Mickey mouse boots.
Now we know where Jake gets all his gear.

I alway pack old clothes that need to be trashed for my hunting trips. Especially old socks and Ts. That way I have room for things I accumulate on the trip. Coolers, antlers, etc

I have a Treebark Polarfleece hat that I bought as part of an entire suit in like 1985 when I started bowhunting. I've long since worn the suit out but my hat is till going strong!

Ultra fine cashmere sweaters for less than $8. Awesome base layers with natural odor control. Wash on gentle and hang to dry. Do not put them in the dryer or they will only fit a 5 yo after you do it.

I almost don't buy anything anywhere else but a thrift store aside from maybe my boots in my rain gear. Clothing, anyway.
I have also shot three or four deer with bows I got at thrift stores even. Old recurves and the like.
Man, I own all that gear from the 80's and 90's! Trebark coveralls, duck camo and snow predator. No UV brighteners either. Love it. But, the new gear is far superior.
My normal hunting gear is usually goodwill type stuff all handmedown guns including! Grampas stuff was good for him I'll take it
I shot a 120" ten pointer this year in a brown carhartt knockoff. Had a slate gray hat on that my wife brought me back from Manchester. 4 yard shot from the ground; he had no idea I was standing in that corn.
