great vid! takes a few mins to get to the text wrap, but everything up to that point is also a whole bunch of useful tips (at least for me as a complete amateur learning illustrator). no time was wasted in this tut. also love the speed at which you go through it all. keep up the good work.
Thanks you are very open and straighter other people hide few thing and u end not understanding... THANKS am from Uganda (East Africa) and Am AFrican.. GBU
You don't know how this helped me. I've been looking for a tutorial about this and I was using the wrong keyword. Thankfully this popped in the search results. Thank you for this!
I on the other hand this tut belongs here in Illustrator, because not all of us who use Illustrator use InDesign, and just knowing this can help a lot. As always, thank you Nathan, your tutorials are awesome!

So glad I found your channel - finally someone who gets straight to the point, doesn't click around talking about his day and just offers highly informative, super clear tutorials (that I need to re-watch at least a couple of times before getting them) Thank you so much, keep up the awesomeness!
At first i thought 17 minutes tuto, it will be boring. but donno how those 17 minutes gone. you have amazing presentation skill mate. great tuto as always
i remember doing that text around picture work back in the days when even pc 386er wasnt even invented i was working on amiga and it was one of the most work intense jobs i remember from those times i remember i used deluxe paint and alot of paper stitching after many low resolution prints to get a din a 4 page done for the magazine to dublicate. ill bet everyone working in that area remembers the first time he did that by hand adjusting every line ending up with the editor throwing a new rewritten text at you to use that instead ... bollocks ! :D its just nice whats possible today and whats made easy. sometimes we forget how helpfull all these little thingys are that are stacked into what adobe provides and tutvid explains to us all :) cheers

WOW! You are simply amazing Dude! I enjoyed your video as well as learn from it all the time.. hopefully be an expert like you in no time.. Thank you very much. Keep on doing what you do.. everybody is loving you on that.. got it, get it? GOOD! :)
Nathaniel Dodson...aka tutvid. My brother this is the tutorial i have been searching for for a very long time. Opacity masking is something i needed to learn man. Thank you sooooo much. Funny tip: im at the laundromat right now i and i cant wait to go home and try this stuff. Thanks a lot man!!!!!👌👌👌👌
Is it possible to use text wrap on a clipping group? I am having trouble getting it to work. Even when i select within the cipping group and enable that as a text wrap object. I have both on the same layers and the graphic above the type. Thanks!
Great Tut and nice to see this done in illustrator. One thing: the second column was jagged on the right rather than on the left toward the model. Can, and would, you change the text justification on this one column alone?
I do this text wrapping by drawing a closed path next to the object (similar to the outline of the object) for the text and then select the type tool and click on the path. Enter text and Done!
@ 13:52 unfortunately The object/text wrap/ make doesn't work with some fonts (?) just tried about 10 different times and it doesn't make anything. Maybe there has been a hot fix for this in the recent months. Anybody know why this doesn't work ?
Sort of. In Photoshop you can load text into a path, but it's not nearly as responsive or fluid as it is in Illustrator. Short answer is YES, but not with the same degree of power and flexibility.
Skip to 13:00 - or just go: Object/Text Wrap/Make
Next up, 10 second tutorials. 😂
I definitely should have done this one much faster than I did. :|
Thank you
thanks!!
thanks
Thank you saving our time :)

Yep. You can do it in InDesign, you can sort of do it in Photoshop, but for the Illustrator gang this is how it's done! 👍
tutvid
what's indesign
It's another Adobe graphic design computer program that is primarily used for multi-paged text design documents. It's part of the Adobe Creative Suite.
thank you so much, not only I have learned the technique, I also figured out mask in illustrator and some cool free font for my project.
I agree with Stacy that it should probably be done in InDesign, but sometimes it's really just easier to knock out a one-pager in Illustrator.
i love InDesign , but it can't go alone w/out Illustrator in most situations. That's why Creative Cloud was purposely made for.
Mate you are a legend .
Great teacher. Very clear.

is RTD same as RTF?
I don't think so. rtf is a very broad file format that works with lots of applications.
I can only make .rtd files on a mac... hmm
Tutorial starts at the minute 13 guys
any html code to do the same job?
