The big difference between sea lions and seals are, sea lions have visible ears, seals usually carry rifles
Perfect explanation. Love the reference that seals carry guns.
One of them is also fond of clubbing, I guess they like the night scene 🤷♂️
I see sea lions or seals when I go swimming at the ocean I live in Maine it’s right next to Canada
I see what you did there
😄
Harambe is the epitome of an example of how far we're willing to go, as humans, to put nature on display for our pleasure. Society killed that animal.
Whenever children fall into these enclosures its always the parents fault, yet you never see them jump down to protect their child. I say throw the parent in as a distraction to get the child out.
ehh i say arrest the parent and lets see what happens to the kid, if he dies he dies if he lives he lives
My Brother has severe Diabetes and cannot control his sugar. It will drop
Suddenly to an incredibly low level. Years ago, he had rescued a young orange kitten. What he didn’t know was the little cat is a life saver. Every time he’s about to have another dangerous episode, the cat will run over, jump in his lap, and push on his chest till he lays down
She’s saved him many times. We all love his cat!
Till he lays down? If the cat is telling him to lay down while he starts to get a low blood sugar, he’ll eventually get a seizure when he hasn’t eaten anything??? The cats trying to kill him 🤨
The problem with the Harambe story is that, they are keeping the animal in a closure in the first place which is just cruel in itself. Then the parents don't keep an eye on their own child and he falls down into it and they decide to shoot the innocent animal that shouldn't even be there? He should be out in the wild not rotting in a closure.
agreed….side note: i dont get why they didnt just hit him with so many tranquilizers that he just collapses and then get the kid
@@caterpillakilla in order to knock him out that fast they would’ve needed to pump so much tranquilizer into him that his heart would’ve stopped. If they used a normal dose he could’ve been agitated from the needle and did something
@@caterpillakilla that's like using taser on a man with gun
@@ad1k594 yea i know but i presumed science had a fast acting tranq or something. i totally get that he wouldve got pissed and then probably used the kids bones as a toothpick
Okay but letting an innocent child get severely hurt or worse, is going to cause a lot more problems than shooting a Gorilla, that's just how it is.
The easiest difference to spot between the two is that sea lions have visible ears while seals don't.
More broadly, they lead very different lifestyles. Seals are quite a bit more dependent on the water and are thus better swimmers (therefore they're bodies are visibly more torpedo-like than sea lions), while sea lions are a bit more mobile on land and tend to be much more social (and as a result louder).
Because of sea lions mobility on land, another easy way to tell the difference is that a sea lion will use it's tail and flippers to prop itself up and "walk" while a seal will just kinda shimmy along on its belly (they're very clunky out of the water).
Edit: I've just learned seals don't have external ears at all and what you would see if you got close enough to look are essentially holes. I actually thought they were just tiny. The more you know.
One thing about a dolphin - ya never know how BIG, FAST, and IN CONTROL they are until you’re right next them.
Definitely one of the most BADAZZ creatures on the planet! 🐬 👍
They are amazing to witness in the wild. I have witnessed them many times in the ocean while on my jetski and in boats. When they are right next you on a jetski, you get to see their true size and power. Also, their intelligence is something to behold.

One late night when I’d been in Florida for a short while, I heard some sounds under an aunt’s boat lift, so I grabbed a flashlight looking to see a big fish.
Was sitting with my feet a-danglin’, shining the light in the water, when a multi-thousand pound grey thing with a face popped-up right in front of my feet. ‘Bout scared the s4!t outta me! 🤪
I’d likely put orcas as my fave, but their little cousins the bottle noses are a close second 🤘
unfortunately many of us won't appreciate them until it is too late and they're already leaving and saying, 'so long and thanks for all the fish!'

Daz is getting passionate for these animals. You love to see it. You should do a "we dont deserve dogs" reaction.
Omg I found that by accident and sat here alone sobbing like an asshole lol everyone should see that
That was sad what happened to Harambe the gorilla. He had already started running and dragging the little boy by one leg, and the zookeepers knew his mannerisms, and they were scared the little boy was going to scream and set Harambe off. And Harambe and other SilverBacks are SOOOO strong that they can rip a child in half as easy as we can rip a drumstick off a baked chicken. It was sad because what caused Harambe to start freaking out and dragging the little boy was all the people screaming. I place blame on the boy's parents mostly, because it was them that wasn't watching their child as he climbed over the rock wall that people look over to see the gorillas.
Exactly, at that point it was either let a human child potentially get ripped apart or eliminate a gorilla, it's not a hard decision for the zoo.
@@aj897 All those people screaming.... wish there was someone who told them all to shut up.
Dicks out for Harambe
😂I swear Office Bloke Daz got some black in him. He was just like me “wtf was the woman doing swimming with the whales anyway?” 😂😂
Pigs are actually smarter than dogs and can be trained incredibly easy. They are also very loyal to the people they bond to.
The people who killed Harambe were going to get criticism no matter what they chose to do. If they didn't kill the gorilla and it killed the boy the same people would of being complaining they didn't shoot it quick enough.
@Matthew Kobukowski They feared that the tranquilizer dart might take anywhere from 5 to 10 minutes to take affect and further aggravate the gorilla, possibly causing him to kill the child instantly. It must’ve been an extremely hard decision by the zoo to kill him, I place the blame solely on the parents.
People wouldn't be sad about the gorilla if it was their family member.
Now that I think about it, imagine how many lives were saved by cats and other animals slaying plague rats, preventing pandemics
Pretty sure it was the flees on the rats that carried the plague and they could live on cats too. :))
My grandmother used to tell a story about how a dog saved her from a burning building, but my father said that it was probably something she saw in a Rin Tin Tin movie!
They're talking about the slaughter of dolphins in the Faroe Islands. The dolphins were herded towards shore and their spinal cords were cut to kill them. This was a legal hunt for the people of the Faroe Islands. This slaughter has to stop! There are plenty of fish in the ocean to eat.
They just recently killed 1,500 dolphins a few weeks ago. I get that it's a really old and ancient tradition among a pretty isolated group of people but it needs to stop.
Terrible
1500? Thats a bit much. Here in the united states we have native Alaskan groups of native Americans who enjoy special laws allowing them to continue their traditional whale hunts but there not out there massacring populations. 1500 jesus christ.
In Japan they have been known to force dolphins into a cove where they're killed.
Yeah thats literally what the whole documentary "The Cove" is about
Like Daz’s wit…..”good to see you back, no your back! “
The sea lions are much bigger and smarter than seals. They call seals the dogs of the sea but sea lions would be the bear of the sea. But while sea lions aren't necessarily as aggressive towards humans as bears, they are however much more territorial. And by territorial, I mean, they take human spaces (piers, boardwalks, beaches, etc) and they will fight any human attempt at taking it back. They have also learned to wait for humans to catch fish and then eat the fish. The video you guys watched of the fishing net being brought on to the deck of that boat where the seal popped out of the net was actually a sea lion. And you could see the calculations happening in the sea lion's head of whether to tolerate the water hoses in exchange for fish or to leave. And it seemed like he was leaning towards staying. Cause they're stubborn as hell and they think of humans as a nuisance more than anything else.
The majority of the differences between seals and sea lions boil down to when the two species returned to the sea. Seals returned to the sea longer ago than sea lions and the evolutionary adaptations they exhibit are more evolved than the relatively recent sea dweller in the sea lion. Seals don't have external ears while sea lions still have a nubby little ear. Seals don't talk much while sea lions scream all day and all night... if there's a sea lion colony around, EVERYONE KNOWS IT. They are loud and obnoxious. The skin of a seal is mostly smooth with only fuzz all over while a sea lion is still pretty hairy. And the legs of a sea lion look like a land dweller who relatively recently started evolving flippers while seals have true flippers and don't spend nearly as much time on land as their sea lion cousins.
And both of them were originally a species of small bear when they were on land.
That's more wolf behavior than bear.
If Dolphins could walk on land, we could be in trouble haha. Dolphins are truly amazing and intelligent creatures.
Carbon Monoxide build up is scary. It's honestly crazy that the cat could detect it.
Way back years ago when we were getting the whole grants for insulation and stuff, our house is old and has a lot of old systems. When they came to inspect prior to everything, we were told that we were all lucky to be alive.
Basically, our old ass back boiler was pumping out carbon monoxide which did affect us (headaches, very irritable when I stayed downstairs for too long etc), and the only reason none of us ended up dead was the fact that we have no doors downstairs. Well, we used to but they weren't proper doors so we got rid of them completely. Had we had doors they're sure we all would have died within a few hours.
"Cat saves family from carbon monoxide poisoning"
As I lay in my tent contemplating this buddy heater I just bought...
I’m shocked none of the German shepherds where on here and they were even caught on video. Like the one in Texas that protected his teenage owner from two home invaders and was shot multiple times and survived. Or the one that ran in the road then a cop followed back to its house that was on fire saving its owner. Or heck the cat that fought off a pit bull to save a child all those were on video too.
Yeah that pig photo gave me pause as well...reminds me of a certain "Black Mirror" episode. :)
Good to see him back!
5:43 It is Eiki (sp?) Island in Japan. It has been said that has been stopped now. But Taiji Island still has it. You would think some other type of food could be found.
Dave’s probably thinking about the Faroe Islands. It’s disgusting
Some animals are held in captivity because they were injured so badly they can't be put back in the wild. Some have deficits that make them unable to protect Themselves in the wild. Some animals in captivity from a Young Age Don't Have the Skills that their Mother and or Father teach them. If you put them back in the wild, they will die within months of being released, if not weeks.
To me, the easiest way to tell the difference is a sea lion has much larger flippers, and they stand up on them and walk using them as legs, and seals have much smaller flippers, and they pretty much just scoot themselves across the ground on their bellies. Plus sea lions are brown and they "bark" really loud, where seals do not bark, and they are multi-color, gray, white, brown, and black.
not many years ago it was a huge rant on YT where everybody wrote SAVE HARAMBE it almost got equally big as the DARUDE SANDSTORM rant xD
I’m not sure about other differences, but sea lions are hairy and seals aren’t is one difference I know of
There was also the risk that the bullet could have only wounded and enrage the gorilla, and or the animal may have collapsed atop the child. I wasn't there, so it's hard to judge. An awful result, and hopefully the zoo fixed their obvious security issues. I remember a case many years ago at the Prospect Park Zoo in Brooklyn NY. An 11-year-old boy managed to break into the zoo after closing. He got into the Polar bear enclosure. The child was mauled to death and partially consumed. I'm not sure which order. N.Y. PD. came and put the 2 bears down with their service .38's, and 12 gauge shotguns. It was a torturous way to die for the animal. I don't recall how long their barrage of underpowered weapons went on, but a high-powered rifle would have been far more humane. A tragedy for all parties involved. Don't fuck with polar bears.
The cove one was about Orcas.
Right after the lulu the pig short I had to watch an ad about a ham sandwich...good job youtube
The thing about Seaworld is that they do a lot of good when it comes to conservation but yes the whale shows were bad. But they don't do whale shows anymore and have switched to a more ride-heavy park.
They still do whale shows, but just without trainers in the water. They're supposed to be focused on education now, but any cetacean in captivity is terrible. With an animal that intelligent, captivity is torture.
You guys should watch Secret Base's Every NFL score ever. Really cool charts and graphs that show some pretty bizarre outcomes in the NFL and some weird ways to score
Nice vid have a great day
Sea lions have ear flaps and are more mobile due to longer flippers which they can support their bodies
Lots of these animal enclosure "accidents" are due to poor parenting, lack of parental supervision, and adults don't stupid things such as crossing barriers. You can't fix stupid and, unfortunately, the animals are destroyed. I have seen parents encouraging their children to climb over barriers or place hands into fencing to touch wild animals; mind you, this involves trespassing areas where visitors are not allowed.
Sea lions are HUGE
Difference between seal and sea lion: see lions have external ears, seals do not.
The thumbnail killed me holy shit
Gorillas usually won't attack anything that's weaker than it. Usually is the key word. But still more often than not they won't.
when you see the ocean recede that fast run the other way a tsunami is coming
Sea lions have visible ears and can walk on all four flippers where as seals don't.
Hey office blokes!
I bet Oprah was thinking about a

Sea lions are more predatory. So if it was, then dude got really lucky. If it's a seal he still got lucky but they wanted to help. It's more believable this happened with a seal. But I'll take the guy for his word.
Any other kiwis hurt by that pronunciation of Whangarei during no. 7? 😭😂

Sea Lions have ears, seals do not.
Sea Lion's are huge weighing over 2000lbs and about 10 feet long.Seals are around 200 to 300lbs.
Aye you should react to teirzoo and start with the artic server episode. Cool shit to learn about nature
Over 200 000 people died in the tsunami
the better question is; Why are there still enclosures for Gorillas that kids can fall into lol especially if this happened before
Sea lions have external ears, seals don't.This is the most obvious of many differences. Sea lions are also very vocal, seals aren't. They belong to two different families. Otariidae and Phocidae.
Here's a video (pieced together from security cam footage) of a cat saving a child from a dog attack:

Whose dumb idea was it to have a fee dive competition in a tank with whales? I hope they were tossed out of the office on their ass.
The cove was sharks I believe
It was Orcas. Whaling
We don't deserve animals 🥺
R.I.P Harambe in America will always be very well known as well as the other chimpanzee be ahse at the end of the day they saved kids. It's interesting that instead of people asking why these parents weren't looking out for their kids instead they get skeptical and assume that a chimpanzee is gonna kill a child yeah she'd be well aware about the fat that a parent had an infant child that they didn't even know was not next to them how do you have your child with you and not pay attention to where your child is don't go to a place like a zoo or an aquarium and then you'd have your child go missing like that's not responsible if anything when a child got checked out they should have been taken away from their parents for child endangerment.
There were witnesses there that said the mom was looking after her children but the toddler broke free and fell in before she could grab him again. It was simply just a series of very unfortunate events. If you've ever dealt with toddlers, you'd know how very quickly they can get away from you. Personally, when I bring my toddlers to the zoo, they're in a stroller or on a leash.
Easy way to tell australian from Kiwi, In australia we say wife, in NZ they say Baa!
I doubt there were a whole lot of contenders against Winnie for cat if the year!
How did the cat not pass out too?

But would an animal save a ginger? Hmmm? Innit? 🤪🔥😬

It was dolphins. Sickening
I think that’s Japan that does the slaughter of dolphins
Sea lions are bigger I think.

Dolphins are also rapists
Sea lions are bigger
I'm pretty sure it wasn't dolphins but seals I saw it somewhere a few months back
I believe all of these stories except the house cat. LOL. Those jerks wouldn’t do anything like that. More than likely the cat planned it and was talking shit - “you’re gonna die!” - while they slept.
Wow, if you're being serious that's very ignorant and there's been multiple cats who have saved their owners and numerous cats that have never done anything wrong. May I educate you on the thousands of dogs who snapped? And can actually KILL PEOPLE?? I like dogs more then cats, but you are simply ignorant beyond belief. You say that until you have a child and you stüpidly trust your dog alone with it and it tears them to pieces, and then you end up hating your "good innocent boy". Aww, a cat will scratch you? Poor guy, you totally have it worse then those who get their faces ripped off by dogs!
Seals have no neck and sea lions is brown and only brown and have necks google you will see

@Kev Przy depends entirely on the seal. Leopard seals are massive and i don't know the numbers of the top but i wouldnt be surprised if they're bigger than sea lions. But on the whole sea lions are usually larger than seals. I would venture to guess that this has much to do with seals usually being faster and more agile swimmers.
Edit: also elephant seals are enormous and i can't believe they slipped my mind
@Kev Przy oh wow, Im jealous! I've been to Cali so many times (Vegas native) but I've never really been anywhere i could actually see them.

It's called the grind. It's takes place on the Faroe islands. I believe they herd pilot whales to shore and commence killing them.
The thing with places like sea world is that most if not all animals in there are injured and are rehabilitating. I do agree that we shouldnt put animals on display just because we want it. Unless its for rehab or pop control.

You are talking about the Faroe Islands where they slaughter whales and dolphins.I follow Sea Shepherd and they update this all the time.On September 12th 1428 dolphins were killed.
