Watch in HD!!! This is a drum play-through for the song 'Allure' off of Skyharbor's second album titled 'Guiding Lights'.
I used to be in Skyharbor a few years ago. Unfortunately, we parted ways on completely amicable circumstances after 'Guiding Lights' was released and partially toured. Recently, however, the band invited me to fill in for them in Australia and Mexico. I was really excited they had asked me to play for them because I genuinely missed the Skyharbor material. I was given a bunch of songs I had to learn (and relearn), both old and new. So it was a good opportunity to do some videos for some of the more high-energy songs, including 'Allure'.
I really can't thank the band enough for inviting me out to play with them this year. I really hope it works out more in the future that we can make things happen again on a stage. It felt like 5 years hadn't even really gone by at all. Much love to Skyharbor. \m/
Its been a hectic past few months, but it feels great to have a bunch of content for UA-cam already shot and ready to be uploaded. I'll be making an effort in 2019 to start posting videos every week and a half to two weeks. We'll see how well that goes... haha... BUT, I really do want to make my posts on UA-cam a bit more frequent. More videos soon!

Man seems like your style really comes out when you play and write for Skyharbor, all these thecniques you have and the grooves are one of the best I've ever heard, you really are a crucial part of Skyharbor. Please come back to the band!

I really wish you make a comeback in the band for the writing / recording of the new Skyharbor record. Your playing style adds a new dimension to the band's overall style. I have nothing against Aditya Ashok though. I think he did a pretty decent job on "Sunshine Dust" however since he has amicably departed from the band, I'd like to see you back as a full time member. Take care man and keep up the good work...cheers! :)

I have a few question:
- how do you work to reach this level of technicity?
- how much time per day of practicing?
I don't really consider myself all that technical of a player. I should work on it more, but I kind of have my focus on numerous areas within music. Either way, I maybe only practice drums about 2-4 hours a day. It should be more, but that's a good average I'd say.

Guiding Lights is the only album I listen to regularly, I'm not a fan of the new vocalist's style but I wish them the best anyway!
@@cooperchassemusic: Eric Emery has his own style and I think he's a pretty decent vocalist which suits "Skyharbor" sound. It'll be ludicrous to compare him with Daniel Tompkins though. Similarly Aditya Ashok did a sober job as a drummer on "Sunshine Dust" but I'm sure Anup would have made it sound more tastier!
Agreed. I certainly have no problem with where the band is now, and I'm *very* glad to see Dan back with TesseracT. SkyHarbor's current sound and member line up doesn't do much for me, but that doesn't make it bad. I still have two albums to love and who knows, perhaps one day a temporary reunion could occur.
@@BionicleSaurus: Their drummer Aditya Ashok has parted ways after "Sunshine Dust" was released. Not sure who is going to fill for him. Eric Emery did sing phenomenally well on the new record. I like his style. It's a decent Progressive Rock / Metal album!
Hm, it'll be interesting to see who ends up being the group's new permanent skin hitter. Also, yeah, Eric usually does just fain with the stuff he writes for himself, he just doesn't always replicate Dan's parts all that well IMO.
