    Hi. I really enjoy your instagram feeds. This tip really helps when I get lost in swing thought, also the pre set drill so I know my club face is in a fairly decent position. I think a lot of us amateurs get lost thinking we should be hitting 300 yard drives etc. when you feel the weight you hit through the ball rather than at it, better energy transfer I imagine

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you. Yes, you are spot on in your thoughts about hitting through the golf ball. Cheers

    This is brilliant Troy, thank you. I am a golf senior who came back to the game after an 18 year lay off because my daughter wanted to play. I had a fitting for my Irons and Driver very recently. The fitter noticed that my grip was slightly wrong, and as you say, trying to force the issue with the right hand. He said just to let the club drop down on the ball to create ball compression. I didn't understand the lesson till just now. Thank you.

  • @christinegoulden7940
    @christinegoulden7940 2 роки тому +1

    Something similar to this was shown to me at an Iron fitting. I had trouble with my grip and swing. I was having my irons fitted, and the fitter said to me just to let the club drop onto the ball, and not worry about the feet position or the points of the swing. So just going between 12 o clock and 6 o clock to start with, Thank you. This has explained it better for me.

    I like this....except earlier in 2019 (I believe July) you said too many golfers were fixated on the club head and instead recommended more focus on the shaft/grip. And you provided a nice drill that put emphasis on this part of the golf club rather than the head. Now I'm confused.

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Pete, it's just a different feel which will work for some golfers and not for golfers. Try out both and see which one feels more right to you. Cheers

    Hi Troy, I really like this concept. It works great with irons for me but I struggle to replicate this feeling with the driver as it's very light. Any thoughts? Thank you!

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  2 роки тому +1

      Hi Paul,
      The best way with the driver is to slow the swing down even more. This is the only way you can really feel the weight properly. Does that make sense? Cheers

  • @jukkakymalainen

    Im working similar swinging action at the moment. My mid irons are okay but longer clubs need more work. However it feels less effort than these very body dominant swing styles.

      I'm left handed, do I use my left hand to feel the weight of the club head to swing?

    • @jukkakymalainen
      @jukkakymalainen 3 роки тому +1

      @@alexsy2948 I'm left handed too 👍 To me key is to react to objects weight. Like throwing a ball, frisbee, hammering etc... I do one handed swings with both sides to feel the weight.

      @@Hittingitsolid do you think the momentus can help you with a natural unmanipulated swing plane when you lost your swing?

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Рік тому +1

      @@saijinkai Yes, it definitely can help. I personally prefer the Lag shot to help get your swing back on track. Have you used it at all?

    • @saijinkai
      @saijinkai Рік тому +1

      @@Hittingitsolid not yet. But I like my iron momentus because I’m very strong plus I have a very aggressive swing. The weight puts me in check so it forces me to “feel” the club more and have softer hands.
      Why is the lag shot good for you over the momentus?

    • @Hittingitsolid
      @Hittingitsolid  Рік тому +1

      @@saijinkai For me I find it helps slow the swing down and focus on timing better and using the body correctly.
