I was always curious as to why people still think our first contact will involve the hassle of landing on earth and stepping out of their spaceship to greet us. Like bro just facetime us from orbit it'd be safer for both of us and we wont freak out 😂
As there's physical and mental differences between us and the aliens, we would probably discuss about the cultural differences first before they even try to land, though knowing how much our cultures would change in that time period will be practically impossible
@theo49476 there is also a very human centric view of aliens. As if aliens would care about us at all. It's most likely that advanced civilizations see us. But we are pretty much the equivalent to the squirrels you see on your walks. Something that you just see as the natural background.

The more the digital beings concept is described, the more it sounds like they really lack a drive to well, do anything. They're more just waiting to die. Then the question becomes, is that living? A set of machines slowing themselves down and going into sleep mode, storing more energy and minimizing everything they experience and do as much as possible?
Not too far off from what people do. The natural desire to automate work and relax in comfort is appealing to the point of detriment for many. And thinking about psychologically stressful thoughts is avoided as often as possible. I personally believe we are human because of our drives to do what is not necessary and what makes us struggle. The challenges posed in curiosity transcend simple necessity, and I wonder whether it makes sense to chill out and enjoy a short life or work hard to become immortal. What's our true end goal and how long can we chase it? I don't know, but if we truly have finite time before the heat death, I find it hard to decide between ending with a bang or chilling as long as we can.
@@ncedwards1234 I see what you mean. I feel like curiosity was developed out of our ability to adapt to our environment, so we can explore potential other Avenues to keep ourselves alive. If we change our physiology, will we keep that drive? I tend to not think so, that's where my thought process comes from.
@@strikermodel The desire and/or ability to "turn off" curiosity is probably the most alien concept to me, given that curiosity seems to the my most consistent character trait ever since I was a baby.
This may be the answer to the question: Provided we don't destroy ourselves, if 99.9% of a civilizations lifetime is spent digital, then why do we find ourselves biological? The answer could be that digital beings simply fast forward to the end of the universe, because there's nothing else worth doing.
Waiting till the universe gets cold to use more energy is consistent with maximizing experience, as it will be more efficient then. But I don't think aliens won't be curious, even if they can turn it off it doesn't mean they all will. Curiosity isn't human, any remotely intelligent animal has it, and even some present-day AIs need its functional equivalent.

It was a thought-provoking video indeed. I have grown quite skeptical of all the promises of technology because they treat human problems as just a combination of right inputs to give the right numbers and that's really not how it works; models might be deceiving because of how freaking smooth they work and, having a degree in economics, I know that it's not like that, no matter how enticing or beautiful the model is on paper. But the digitalization seems also to be a sad thing from my perspective, it was like that comic of the future just being people hooked to a dopamine dispenser. I ask: do I really want this? Honestly, I don't want to answer positively, but if true these species also went through these same questions and some might have just said "no" to it and let themselves expire.
Why would digital life have to be boring and fake? What makes you think that being an ape is always better? We are prisoners for our past, animal selves in this form. Transforming ourselves into machines lets us be where we want to be: civilized, intelligent beings with high morals, creativity, and massive lifespans for exploration, fun and science.

Everyone's trying to figure out if you'd be killed and a digital copy of you made or it's actually you being transfered to a computer, but I'm over here wondering how your digital self couldn't just be copied and who'd be the original if either ever were. Edit: what I mean is, if you are "digital" (as in binary 16-bit code or whatever) then it's possible to copy you. Even the POSSIBILITY of copying and pasting you, whether you choose to do it or not, means you're not exactly a "you" at all, you're just a collection of code that can be broken down to 1s and 0s; not containing the consciousness that many ascribe to being the definition of "you-hood" if you could call it that. After all, you can't exist in two places at once, so if you are capable of being in two places at once then it's likely there never was an individual you to begin with and we're talking about something else.
It can only be copied, our memories from our brains will be collected, memories, speeches, Movements and Likings and All types of data's... But still that's just like Collecting WhatsApp messages right? So you will still die cuz it's not "YOU" who is generating the thoughts anymore, After your copy is made.
I think this depends on the process. If you just collect the data through sensors and digitize it then there is an original. You can't copy something without having an original to copy from. If the process was gradual and your biology was perfectly interfaced with the technology before your consciousness develops, then you, the original, will be writing the data of your digital version without even knowing it. The entire process would happen without any copying and be completely passively written as you coexist and take advantage of the technology. There would never be another exact biological version, but you have encoded your own consciousness gradually throughout your biological lifespan until its end and you wouldn't even notice when your biological side completely dies if you didn't want to.
Great video. Digital aliens could use biologic avatars/robots to do certain tasks, for example : to make contact with other species. I think that's probably what we are seeing with the famous "grey aliens", it's probably not real aliens but avatars of digital aliens.
Agreed. Further: what if they seeded Earth in the past with technology so that we bootload their local bodies for them. And what if they Greys are made using organic tissues taken.. from Earth.
@@DiscoMouse Obviously there isn't any proof yet. So I can't be 100% sure yet.
It's a good day when SciencephiletheAi posts

The real question is what code are the aliens running on
I took a shower and im waiting for my hair to dry
Depends on definition of "original".
You're entering deep philosophical waters here, let me tell you ...
Concept of Ship of Theseus eases my anxiety.
Hahahaha, love the symphony orchestrator being clowned in every few vids 🤣🤣
Can't wait to try to explain this to people that don't even care
I am simple. I hear a Warhammer 40.000 Mechanicus quote at 0:45 . I upvote.
The only Ai channel I watch:
Thus is wild to me cause I'm in the middle of pantheon. So perfect timing man
Great video.
And what if they Greys are made using organic tissues taken.. from Earth.
There are probably no aliens here.
@@DiscoMouse Actually they do exist. I'm not sure if they are extraterrestrials though, but non-human beings with advanced technology : 100%.
@@aloys5961 anything measurable you’d care to stake a bet on? Or are we firmly in “trust me bro” territory?
@@DiscoMouse Obviously there isn't any proof yet. So I can't be 100% sure yet.
My belief is based on :
- 2 close friends who saw an anti-gravity craft closely (and I agree : it could be human technology)
- Dozens of whistleblowers who are currently talking to the US senate about a clandestine program managing the capture of non human beings and their technology worldwide (which could be a psy-op, we should know if it's true in the months to come).
- Thousands of testimonies of people seeing these famous UFOs and sometimes their pilots.
The duration in which a civilization emits detectable signals and hasn't yet reached the singularity seems like a miniscule about of time to me.
Mars approves your message, may the Omnissiah bless you.
Imagine finding a flash drive Instead of physical beings to hug, or just to know that other living things exist but finding a flash drive on the ground that can talk to you telepathically.
Cool thought experiment
As much as I would definitely be the "live in the computer" type person in post capitalist post planetary utopia, I think there will always be plenty of fleshers around exploring the galaxy and universe
So...basically The Borg, but with less moving parts.
How do we all instinctively know what is good if there is no creator?
How do we know that being alive is better than being dead?
@@KaLaka16 well, we've sacred scriptures ingrained in our society (the bible), we live in the year 2023 A.C. “Anno domini”, in the year of the lord Jesus Christ
@@JohnBojorquez If you look at it from a religious point of view, then that changes the whole conversation. You are watching the topic through a religious filter, which distorts reality if looked at from my point of view. It's not as if I didn't have my own such filters, but in this case they are incompatible, as I see reality differently.
I did not expect quotes from 40k Mechanicus in this video but I am so here for it
Small brain conspiracy theorist: "Aliens are in Area 51, they are green men"
Big brain alpha mindset: "Digital representations of biological minds are superior and would actually be likely in a highly advanced civilization."
"But Sciencephile is already saved."
I called this a while ago. While you’re correct about the non-corporeal cyber aspect, they’re actually spirits/demons, not just computer programs.
Just came from a video four years ago for this channel! The Voice improvement or flow, idk how to explain it, but it’s better smoother!
This reminds me of the game called 'I have no mouth and I must scream'. A super AI computer locks 5 humans up in digital forms and torture them for (At least to the human's feeling that being tampered with) a 100 years.
Imagine throwing yourself down into earth as a digital construct and then getting permanently stuck in an NES someone refused to get rid of and is in a closet and has been for nearly 20 years.
Why do you upload every time I make lasagna?
Where do go dam dryer socks go!? I need to know I don’t understand.
i'm not first, but lets pretend i am.
The big roadblock is the use of th human experience to be sure that the way of consciousness is really best experienced as humans
I know I’m first but I’m not going to say it and be annoying
Edit: actually I think I’m second
you just did...
