Well, as the Australian Professor said, Brazil is really very advanced on stingless bee keeping. We have top stingless bees researchers at Embrapa(federal agency for agricultural research) and at INPA(National institute for research in the Amazon region). They have been working for decades on it and we already a lot of technology developed for stingless bees keeping. There are small farmers all over the Country doing Meliponiculture. In the poorest states of the North, it is done mostly for honey production, but in the richest states of the Southeast, like São Paulo, there is a booming market for stingless bee colonies sold as pets. The Government is incentivating stingless bee keeping as a means of creating jobs, since the investmente needed to start it is very small.

Question. Can stingless bees survive contact with raw bamboo wood?

Raw bamboo is not advisable. Here in India, we use hardened bamboo wood. As the intruders can dig a hole in raw bamboo, it not advisable. But I saw a small healthy hive using raw bamboo wood last year.
