I’m pretty sure Merlin has a magical ability called infinity any spells can infact affect her but ageing spells and stuff won’t work
I'm not really sure how her magical ability works, but I think it was something like:
*"No having infinite magic power, but having summoned every single spell in existence and resume it's effect on will"* .
Of course there some exceptions like *stopping her own time* in order to not age and being inmune to life draining powers, which is active at all times, and *stoping time on large scale* around Meliodas's egg to stop him from hatching, which needed all of her effort.
