From what I understood, fairies are actually born from plants and as such have no parents (this is why Elaine having a child was something big). Fairy Kings are born from the Sacred Tree (which makes Gloxinia, Gerharde, King and Elaine siblings).

Diane and Harlequin's child isn't a prince or a princess because that would mean Harlequin is the fairy king, which he isnt anymore. Ban is the new fairy king, and his son Lancelot is the heir to the throne (the prince)
