I would say that the second sport of Brazil is volleyball! Brazil is one the strongest countries in volley, with a competitive national championship. And different from other places, both the women and men category are respected and competitive. Some soccer clubs are also starting to invest in the sport.

Great video! Just a small correction: We didn't won the State of Acre in a war. We purchased it from Bolivia in 1903 for 2 millions and 110 thousand british pounds.

It's hard from a danish perspective to understand Brazilian demographics, but it's basically : "anyone in the world could look like a Brazilian" because we have everything here. And no, germans, italians, ucranians etc do not have "their own countries" or enclaves, they ALL MIX together. I myself have italian 🇮🇹grandparents and my ex-wife German 🇩🇪 ones. So, my son is a total mix. We brazilians are natural born without that "race" concept.😊👍
Maria Leopoldina was Austrian. Football is the number one sport in Brazil and most people like football but that doesn't mean that there aren't people who don't like it, as there are Brazilians who don't like carnival.
Great reaction! Please do more countries in the Geography Now series! (including my country of Argentina :P) It's a good series to know a little more about every country in the world :)
Also, the southern you go in south america, the whiter the people are, between the south cone and the usa there is mestizo and amerindians majority (except for the guayanas and some islands in the Caribbean where blacks are majority); but below and above that, whites are majority in the american continent.
About Brazil being born as an Empire, besides what other commenters already said, I would add: that the Portuguese Empire recognized Brazil as an Empire in the peace deal following the independence war because the Brazilian emperor would be the son of the Portuguese emperor and this would boost Portugal's fame for having an Empire get independence from them. And that the Archduke of Austria was the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and wanted his daughter to be empress. The third empire that recognized Brazil as such was the Mali Empire in Africa, one of the most important commercial partners to Brazil because of the slave trade, so not all of it is beautiful history. This means Brazil wasn't a self-declared empire like Mexico was. Mexico declared itself an empire to justify wars on it's neighbors.
I’m surprised you both seemed unacquainted with the Hapsburgs. This is one of the most powerful and important kingly house in all of European History. The Spanish Hapsburgs once ruled the the Low Countries for example.

The cariocas just missed this portuguese class. kkkkkkkkkkk (hue hue hue) there's a lot of videos about that on you tube.
Thanks for another great reaction! React to " Don't Go to Brazil" video, it is a cool short video and more easy to digest. And yes the white population in Brazil is basically half of its people, the data on the video is from 2010, nowadays, Pardo people is the majority, but whites are still half with over 40%, and the total population now is 209,5 millions. Football is still the national sport, but as the guy said in the video is not every brazilian that likes it, basketball is not that famous here, volleyball would be a better sport to quote.
Actually pardos are majority if united with black people, but most of us are still white. Who did this research was the IBGE, it said that 53% of our population is made of "negros" and negros for IBGE are anyone who's black or pardo, even some mixed-race of indigenous, white and black people. That's why "negros" are majority, but, without uniting them all, white people are still the majority of us.

nice! A few quick notes, tho they are probably spread across comments at this point =) 1- Ronaldo Nazário (fenômeno) and Ronaldinho Gaúcho are Brazilians, Cristiano Ronaldo is Portuguese. 2- Gisele is from Rio Grande do Sul, yes. 3- The white portion seems bigger than expected because: Brazilians consider white those who are not VERY white; the south region is less attractive for tourism and gets less exposed on the media. 4- We call it football ("futebol"), saying soccer hurts me 😁 thank you 😶
Brasil ! is big . Out in downtown . out side in Rio , out side São Paulo . I'm don't speak english . only portuguese brasilian . You arrive six day in amazon in river for one city inside city amazon.
Besides saying Cristiano Ronaldo is Brazilian, he also made another glaring error in this video when he said the the deforestation problem in the Amazon happens to increase agricultural lands. This is simply not true. Just 3% of the Amazon in Brazil can be used for agriculture at all, and those areas are already used. When the land in the Amazon is used for agriculture, the extreme poverty common in the Amazon region goes away and there's no deforestation anymore.
Actually there are many Brazilians who are 100% European, mainly in the south and southeast (most municipalities in the states of Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul are descended almost entirely from German, Italian and Portuguese immigrants who arrived there in the 1910s, 1920s)... and a large genetic study conducted recently by anthropologist Sergio Penha found that white Brazilians are genetically 75 to 90% European, with this level, the narrative of "there are no whites in Brazil", which I have always found absurd, falls apart, being that any white Brazilian fills the general requirements of "whiteness" of North America and Southern Europe for example (in cases as far North and Northwest), and given the fact that people with light skin, straight or wavy hair, and thin facial features are, if not the majority of the population, a considerable part. The narrative of "mulatto Brazil", or "black Brazil" created from Gilberto Freyre's thesis of racial democracy has only increased the racist rhetoric in the country, as it creates a false idea of African predominance in the people, belittling and hiding the origin and culture of a large part of Brazilians. Brazil is a country of minorities, given the fact that demographically no one ethnic group forms more than half of the population. Why can't we try to live peacefully with the differences, respecting the origin of each one without underestimating or hiding it?

Argentina meat is better but because they have less laws about how you should treat the animals, the cows of Argentina spend most of their lifes stuck so they won't grow muscles and the meat gets softer. Meanwhile Brazil have stronger laws about animals rights, cows spend most of their life free in fields. But Brazil still export more meat than Argentina.
The video mentions Ronaldo, the Brazilian hero of the 2002 world cup, NOT Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal.
Every Brazilian loves soccer, just as all Norwegians fish for codfish!
Every Japanese wears a kimono, every Russian plays with bears, and every African hunts lions!

“Biscoito” always
Fernando de Noron-ha ... Inspirado em moom-Ra
In my family it's biscoito. =)
Also, biscoito is the right way to say it, IT IS IN THE PACKAGE!!!
See about Carnaval (escolas de samba do Rio de Janeiro).
