Does he hit that hard? If one has good blocking and the Bonemass power up, can his attacks be blocked? (I'm nowhere near finding or fighting him yet, just curious.)

He does around 480 damage per attack, so parrying just doesn't seem to work with anything other than the staff of protection
Keeps throwing spear through skeleton.
I was trying to immobilize him with the Jade gem enchantment. I was actually getting frustrated because the vines weren't doing anything lol
