My great great grandpa First discovered the Rochester Panel it fun to be able to watch videos about them. It’s sad to have watched the damage that has occurred over the years especially the parts that have been broken off. My dad was born and raised in Moore ( used to be called Rochester and my grandma always called it that). Growing up we always spent vacations in Emery county vs Disneyland and the older I get the more grateful I am that we did. It’s a place frozen in time.
Thats awesome! I love that area. It's also fun to find 'petroglyphs' of people from the late 1800s / early 1900s in certain spots. They usually carve their names quite well, but for some reason most of the ones I see have the letter N backwards. . . . Sometimes the letter P as well. Wonder if there is a story behind that. Anywho, I explore a lot and often wonder about folks like your grandpa; how cool would that be to stumble upon a petroglyph panel like that and realize you are probably the first person to see it in centuries? Cool stuff
I lived and raised my two children on a ranch in that area. We used to ride down that canyon many times to picnic and camp along the San Rafael River. My son as a teen used to love climbing in this area as well. I still consider that area as my home even though I live in the east now. I so do miss Eastern Utah.
Thanks for making this video, not many people actually realise whats going on in these sights. Most of the scenes i saw were of the eastern horizon just before sunrise about march to june. We are seeing the zodiacs from spring summer,,virgo, libra, scorpio and usually you may see a canoe boat or snake . Very interesting thanks👍😊
