Some French players are speed demons, others are tatical geniuses, others are so technically gifted that they borderline-walk the pitch while controlling the game tempo and others are physical beasts. You can basically do whatever you want with s French team and pick the style that fits the most for every game.

To be honest, French Football over the last years since Deschamps arrived has been characterised by an extremely defensive setup focused on unlocking the creative potential of Griezmann and the attacking talent of Mbappe/Dembele. This is why people in 2018 and 2022 were complaining about French “anti-football”, and likened it to Atletico Madrid at times

More like they are super attacking ( having one of the best attacks ) and afther they score they move into defence and had a solid defence.
Better on the attack than defence tho.

That’s a totally wrong assessment of the French team.

France traditionally is supposed to be (this is from the 90s) the Brazil of Europe, where physicality and matches the beauty of the game. The term of French flair is mostly used for Rugby but in Foot it used to be like that as well.
One of the current best player for France is Griezmann. He was trained in Spain and plays in a very spanish style. Nothing wrong with that, but it's not a French style. Think of Zidane, Jean Pierre Papin, Cantona, all these players are the archetype of a French forward (Full of technique, flair and physicality). Improvisation is encourgaged as well. Take, for instance, the Lens second goal vs Arsenal in the first match with Wahi providing Thomasson who finishes in a touch. It's a beautiful goal, that's what French football wants to encourage.
The problem is that the league screwed itself up, can't provide the funds sufficient enough to sustain a real competition. The players are then sold WAY too soon to bigger clubs and over 3/4 of them fail. It's a sad reality because a whole nation lost its identity because of incompetence, greed and a lack of forward thinking. We can still fix things but it'll take time and bravery from the federation, the league and every club who wants to be competitive.

Problem is that no one whants to watch League 1 and thus there is neither new sponsors or new good players coming.
Thats why PSG overpays so much for their players.

@@stefankatsarov5806 That is more of a sympton than a cause. Lack of investment in the league poor deals with MediaPro and others.
Ligue 1 is making itself hard to find. Even in France, you can't get Ligue 1 with Canal+ (which is where your have EPL, La Liga, Serie A and the UCL) you need to pay 15€ on top of a prime video subscription. It's a joke.
