I visited the building and walked up to the 9th floor for the 30th anniversary in 1999 while visiting a friend in Montreal. So now I've found the documentary!
Wow I’m baffled and feel weak, yet empowered ✊🏾 I am a Concordia U alum from 01-08 and I never knew this is what actually took place in order for me to have walked freely through those doors of the SGW building… thank you for shedding light. These are the things they try to cover and dismiss… Thank you champs for toiling, “fighting”, and advocating for us… I’m humbled. We’ve come a long way… We shall overcome✊🏾🙏🏾🕊🌻
As many of these students were from Trinidad and Tobago, it sparked a series of protests in Trinidad and Tobago which led to the 1970 Black Power Revolution.
Great documentary, thanks for giving us an insight into life then. Kennedy Frederick is a son of the soil Petite Martinique, we here are grateful for your work.
9000~ views in three years after being uploaded... Something wrong here... I am an alumni from Concordia (1996-99). I had heard about the Sit-in, but I bet most students knew nothing and few now obviously don't too. Super quality documentary. Interesting to note that Perry Anderson's son referred to his father as "Perry", not my father or dad. 1:12:25

Great documentary. We thank God for the leadership of those like Rosie Douglas who stood against racism.

For accessibility, there should be proper cc, not auto-generated ones. This is important history and so should be accessible to all!

I came when the sit in started but left to come back to Toronto because I didn’t want my mom to know I’d been there.
Amazing video!!
