    THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO AND INSTRUCTIONS. We had this problem and as a good husband, I ignored it for several months ( restarted the oven, BBQ etc) to avoid a heavy repair bill. Finally one day I HAD to start researching a fix ( new oven or a easily replaced part) The $30 fix won out ( 55-45). I delayed at least 2 weekends, then yesterday got it done!! Thank you again!!

    Roughly two years later watching this video, I'm back here again...I've had my Bertazzoni since 2015 and it's gone through two thermocouples now. Ridiculous!

    Super helpful. Problem was oven would light then shut off within a minute or less. Had a slightly different model, ordered the correct thermocouple and by following the video, easily replaced the malfunctioning old thermocouple in under a half hour and now the oven works properly. Thank you!

      We're having the problem for the 2nd time in the 10 years we've owned ours. The parts supplier is listing a different item number as compatible for the oven (508041 instead of 508026). Did you have this issue?

    Thank you so much, believe it or not I got a quote for this repair in the San Francisco Bay area of $615. Bought the part on Amazon for $23 next day delivery and fixed it myself last night in 90 minutes.

    The thermocouple size is actually 8mm but the English size you give is close enough. I had to remove the top burner bracket to get my big hands in there but that's easy. Five stars to you

  • @jlucke69

    Mine is the same as yours but the 5 burner Pro. Not one issue in 10 years. Oven gas kept turning off. Pretty much assumed it was the thermocouple. When I went to see if I could clean It I could tell that the wire to the tip was loose. Probably the cause so just waiting to UPS to delivery the part.

    I was very successful with my repair. Just a couple of things I would like to add.
    1.) Once the two srews from the oven floor botton pan are removed you need to raise the back of the pan, tilt it up a little bit and then slide it back a little to remove the pan from under the front lip of the range..
    2.) Pretty much the same with the top surface of the range where the burners sit. Raise the back a little first then push it towards the front because it sits under a little lip at the front of the range.
    3.)Pay attention when getting your fingers, wrench to release the thermocouple on the top so you don’t damage any wiring. It is a very tight spot in there..
    Just a couple of tips to pass along. Just take your time, it is quite simple..

    Looks like a relatively easy fix, but will probably still hire someone, as I'm not comfortable messing with the gas line/valve for turn on/off. Thanks for the info! FYI the 508041 thermocoupler works for the X36 5 GGV X

    The top bottom right pilot on My Bertazzoni range just started to clicking and I can not turn it off and it seems to effect the pilot in the oven because it does not lit up.. do you think this might be the issue?

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  3 роки тому

      It’s really hard to say without seeing the unit, but it doesn’t sound like a problem with the thermocouple. It may be a failing igniter or a problem with the gas valve.

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  2 роки тому

      It was already in a house we bought, so my guess is that it was about five years old. It also depends on how much you use the oven of course.

  • @altsys1

    Great video, thanks.
    Couple questions, does your fan always come on in the oven and stay on (and blow really hard the whole time). And does your oven take 20+ minutes to get up to 400?

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  4 роки тому

      Glad you liked the video. Yes the fan will come on when the oven is on. In my case it doesn’t seem to blow very hard, but maybe I’ve just gotten used to it. And I’d say my oven takes a good solid 15 minutes to get to 400. So 20 minutes isn’t out of the range of possibility.

    Great video! i recently purchased a house with the exact some oven.
    I’m also having an issue with the gas burners where I have to hold in the knobs for a while to n order to turn in the burners. And advice how that can be fixed?

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  3 роки тому

      That sounds like possibly a weak igniter problem. You can test it easily by using a match - if the burners light up quickly with a match then you know it’s probably the igniters failing.

    • @MrMugsy1997
      @MrMugsy1997 3 роки тому

      Mine has the same issue - I assumed this was just how it works, you have to heat up whatever is detecting that the element is on in order to keep the gas flowing.

    Hey thanks for the video. I'm having the same problem and decided to try and replace the thermocouple. I'm having trouble getting the top of the oven off though. I've removed all of the screws from the burners and the 4 screws on the tabs on the back. It feels as if it is still secured somewhere on the front though. I can't find any other visible screws. For reference I have the A365GGVXT. I've read through the manual, but no luck there. Any advice?

    • @SunnyDonn

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  7 років тому +1

      Glad you got it figured out. Keep in mind it'll have to go back on in the same way - latching it on the front and then lowering the back down. It took me a couple of tries to get it.

    hey quick question, i love the bertazzoni design, and i love the italian craftsmanship, but ive been hearing and reading mixed reviews on this brand of Stove, some people love it and some people say its full of problems since day 1, specifically the oven. How is this stove in terms of just general use? i probably only use the oven maybe less than 20 times a year, mostly for big roast beef and turkey, etc, so 98% of the time, it'll just be the burners and maybe the griddle since i need the 48 inch one and that contains the griddle with the 6 burners. How is this stove overall? what are your 3 pros and 3 cons? and should i get it?

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  6 років тому +1

      Aside from the thermocouple I haven’t had any other problems with the stove. I love the design of it, and the burners all perform well. They’re a little fiddly to clean, since they knock over easily and aren’t as beefy as Wolf or Viking style. But to me that’s not a big deal. It’s mostly personal preference and what you’re used to. If I had to buy a new stove I’d certainly consider another Berty.

    • @bludika
      @bludika 6 років тому

      thanks, just another question, i'm aware that the burners are not all the same BTU, it varies while you get one high powered one, and the rest are different BTU levels right? do you just find yourself using the highest BTU one most of the time and put other stuff on the lower BTU ones? I've never used a different BTU burners before, is it inconvenient? are the other smaller ones enough BTU for searing a steak? or do you HAVE to use the highest powered one? i might be searing steaks in 2 different pans, and I'd like a high powered ones for those too, not just the single one provided

    • @lesavoie5740
      @lesavoie5740  6 років тому

      Yes, on my model the burners are different BTU levels. I find myself using all of them for different tasks. The smallest of them I use for simmering only, but the rapid and dual wok burners are easily strong enough to sear. The semi-rapid burners may be not quite powerful enough. There will be slight variations from model to model so make sure to check the BTU output of yours.

    You're the only person on UA-cam that I've found has a Bertazzoni range that isn't a dealer. Please, can you address the cooling fan on these ranges. I have heard they are quite loud and that the fans are always on. Since I have a small kitchen I would hate to hear a loud oven fan while sitting down to have dinner.
