Great technique! From my experience, make sure the line is at least three or four times the length to the cleat. Sometimes, the cleat or pole is higher than the boat, which requires a bit more practice. Now, next up, how to throw it through a ring! 😂
Yep, that's how I do it as well! Does require a bit of practice and proper prepartion but totally works. No stepping of the boat and, if it is required, you can steer away from the dock immediately and nobody is left behind.
From Webster’s- bitter end 2 of 2 noun (2) : the inboard end of a ship's anchoring cable From Classic Sailing-The Bitter End The nautical bitter end is the end of a rope or chain that fastens to the ship so you don’t lose your anchor.

Well done. I teach my delivery crews this as part of line handling. Credit in my case to Captain Jack Klang of Quantum Sails.
Judging by the music, line tossing is an epic business. ;)
🤣
it was so, so, so, very silly.

Good video but you need to drop the music.
Why the music? Detracts from video
Great trick - thanks!
Great video and technique. Would have been perfect with no words and 10 seconds long.
The ‘ bitter end‘ refers to the end of the line that is attached to the boat.
Isn't it the other end? i.e. the bit that isn't attached to anything (otherwise "holding on till the bitter end" wouldn't make sense..)

Bitter is a noun, not an adjective. A bitter is a post on a ship kind of like a cleat.
Good trick, made more memorable by the annoying music I suppose.
If this doesn't work for me, I'll just have to turn the music up louder.
Handy ,that helps ,can we see you do it singlehanded
OMG.... the music... vs the video! 😂
Thank you.
Good tip. Lose the music.
End the music. It adds nothing.
Nice technique but lose the music. It distracts from hearing you and rather irritating. Thanks.
Autodislike for music.
Good video but turn off that Hollywood music; you don’t need it. It’s hard to hear you.
