Scotland Will one Day An independent country the great William Wallace is Still Alive in heaven with god And Jesus and the Saints one day we will Reunite one Day we Will be Reunited with William. Wallace in heaven also remember the brave scots who lost limbs and lives in battle ,😓
Wallace is certainly with us today and he is being helped by many English born people who are ashamed of the actions of their ancestors towards Scotland. .
Wallace es el heroe de la guerra de los cien años cuando Robert The Bruce y David Bruce Scotia quiere ser independiente de los ingleses pero la guerra de los cien años es mucho más que eso
I'm Scottish and an SNP member but I think anyone that bases their modern politics on something that took place 70years ago is a little bit dim. I'm also a lover of studying medieval(and Neolithic till the end of ww2 in 1945)military matters,I own thousands of books and have had academic papers published on the battles of Dunbar,Myton and storming of Berwick. Wallace DID NOT win the battle of Falkirk,he only had some command in one pitched battle(Falkirk)and he was tactically useless. He was not betrayed by his cavalry, they escaped and Wallace DID NOT call them traitors, they retreated due to the awful position Wallace put them in. Limited in numbers they were only really good for chasing a defeated foe. They could never have fought the English knights and men at arms on equal terms,it would have been suicide. They did not abandon their comrades but left the field in good order when the battle was already lost. Wallace's plan was poor, first he took away his men's mobility by massing them into shiltrons, a good idea, but surrounding them with roped(some say chains)enclosures was a bad move,it made them immobile sitting ducks. Unforgivable is what he done to his archery soldiers. These men(who even the English credit with great bravery)were left to die outside the roped in shiltrons. The English cavalry hit the shiltrons and were stopped, but slaughteredthe brave archers nearly to a man as they had zero protection. Then after the failed cavalry attack that only wiped out the archers King Edward ordered in his own missile troops,at near point blank range they decimated the roped in Scottish troops, when they ran out of arrows so close were they to the Scots who were now a tangle of living dying and dead they could bombard them with thrown stone's. The English horse went back in,this time facing little opposition, it was a massacre.
@@1985donnelly And the song specifically claims he beat the English (it was not as simple as England vs Scotland that war it should best be described as a dynastic struggle for the throne of scotland)at Falkirk when Wallace was soundly beaten.
@@1985donnelly Both friend. And at Falkirk he had sole command, while at Stirling he held joint command with Murray. Like I noted his only field battle he had sole command in was a disaster. Wallace should be seen as a average commander and decent guerilla leader who was a unifying symbol rather than a great general.
