So many dormant memories have resurfaced. I was 4 years old when I played this game and while I don't remember much, I recognise certain parts of it (mainly the minigames and sound effects). 27:31 This minigame in particular is weird and used to freak me out a bit as a kid. 31:15 For some reason I remember this shot of the bus, and I used to play around with putting stickers everywhere in the cockpit. Surprisingly I don't remember the platforming at all.
I have 6 siblings and we used to play this RELIGIOUSLY every time we went to my Grandads house. Janets rap about a moon called Mimas plays in my head often. Mimas! Your highness!!

My Win2k VM displays at full screen, but the games only run at like 800x600 or something so it's just a small square in the middle of the screen. I have VirtualBox Guest Additions installed. @@mon0theist_tv awesome to hear you got it working! Unfortunately these old games were programmed to be in those smaller fixed resolutions. So I usually set my computer to a smaller resolution like 1280x720, then going full-screen in the virtual machine. It makes the game window much bigger on your monitor.
i played the heck outta this when I was 4 or 5. Puttin' those fritz tokens in the coin slot was supremely satisfying. I also vividly remember sipping the planets in half with the scissors; that dang minigame with Saturn's rings and the rock dispenser thingy, plus the planet filler with other planets thing; those interactive experiments were my favorite. It's fascinating how much this fascinated young me.
This game and Road Rash 3DO were the first cd rom games that me and my brother played once we got out own desktop computer. I would stay on that level at 30:20 just to listen to the music. That was the highlight.
Because you did this game, it would be great if you did this for the other Magic School Bus CD games. It would be nice if you can show all the levels for some of these games that have a set amount of levels. For the Dinosaurs game, those would be Meteor Meltdown, Nest Watch, and Marathon (especially since I really want to know what the win screen for Marathon looks like). For the Oceans game, I think these would be the Tides game, Luminescent Fish game, and the Coral Reef maze game since they are the only ones with titles for their levels. The mini-games for the World of Animals have ten levels. I am not sure how many levels are in some of mini-games shown in the Earth, the Rainforest, the Human Body, and the Bugs games. Even though 23:48 - 23:57 is pretty dark in context (no pun intended), as a kid I thought that animation and description were funny. It's like she was basically saying "Without the sun, the Earth would break down!"
Does anyone remember clicking on the radio in the bus? (near the button that gave you the stickers) It would play this country song that went "Well bless my soooooul, the martians came to see us! Stole our car, and took it for a riiiiiide..." God, I thought that was so funny when I was a kid.
ugh, sorry I missed that! I actually never knew about it, the buttons to make the radio appear don't stand out so I ignored it. I went back to the game and found it, a tiny radio appears with 3 buttons on it. :(

I want to play this again. Do I need the CD, or can I download this somewhere? I did play Oregon Trail 5th Edition on a CD because the torrent version was buggy. I did have to download it differently on modern hardware, but it works even though the save feature appears to be broken (not a big problem). I remember playing the levels. 32:35 Frizz should have also said dwarf planet since Pluto is not a planet or moon. This game is a bit dated on the information. I guess the spacesuits the students have can withstand extreme radiation. If we actually did go to Mercury, we would probably need to be on the cold side to survive. I don't think I was aware you could put the coins somewhere. I just let them float around. If you really were on the surface of Venus, the atmosphere would crush you. 40:51 Wow the news about Ms. Frizzle missing gets around quick. I don't think Io is a good moon to land on. Callisto would probably be the best choice since it's the farthest from Jupiter (at least for the Galilean moons) and has the least amount of radiation. However, the spacesuits you're wearing can apparently withstand lava and extreme radiation. 16 moons? Try 80. Only 4 of them are real moons. Most of them are small asteroids. Wouldn't Jupiter be a brown dwarf if it was bigger before it becomes a star? Triton has volcanoes too. I think Io would have lower gravity. For some reason they don't make you jump high there. Why did they go to Mimas? That place is tiny and has really low gravity. Titan may be a better spot to land on. 1:11:14 Wouldn't you be floating out here? 1:12:59 I don't think the gravity would be sideways here. Why do they always go on super small moons? Titania would be better. Wouldn't you still have to experience an endless bummer after summer ends? At least they go to the largest moon on Neptune. Isn't the dark spot on Neptune gone now? It disappeared sometime before 1994 and this is 1996. How fast does the school bus move? It may be moving faster than light since it can take over 5 hours for sunlight to reach Pluto. I like how you actually go into a gas giant in Neptune. I guess going in deep is too dangerous because of storms and high pressures. Saturn has 83 moons but it still beats Jupiter. If I remember correctly, you can just ditch Frizz and go back home without her. She has a lot of faith in her students. I think in the show Frizz is on Pluto. Was she just floating out in space in the book? I don't remember.

Don't believe so unfortunately. There's other games made in early 2000s and I even believe a couple DS games, but nothing recent.
